Hi, my name is Kegyn and I’m 16 years old. I have modded on two Rust servers with around 800 players combined. Most of my experience is from Rust, but I want to try staffing on a GMod server for the first time. Please don’t hold that against me, because I think modding on Rust and GMod is pretty similar. I’m used to rough and toxic environments, including racist players, and I try to help deal with that and keep things under control. I’m available most of the week outside of school and work, which are both from 8–3.

I do have a life outside of gaming and play other games, but I still try to be on GMod when I can.Most of my modding experience comes from the two Rust servers I currently help on, and I think I could help this server too. Why should we choose you over other applicants? There are many reasons why you should consider allowing me to moderate this server. I have 700 hours on this server, which some people make look like a small number, but that's almost a month of playtime. I’m a pretty active member, and I report every rulebreaker for any reason as long as they’re actually breaking rules. I have experience moderating for this server, and I was a good moderator, in my opinion, and a few others, but they don’t play anymore. When I was a moderator, I completed hundreds of reports every month. My highest sit’s completed in a month was around 230 or so. I know every rule, and I keep up with the changes. I'm familiar with the community, Im familiar with the commands and how to moderate properly.

I was removed from the moderation team for my behavior, I said things I shouldn’t have. I didn’t say any slurs, so don’t think I did. I do have a ban history, around 3 or 4 times, but my most recent ban is from 2023 for NITRP and I don’t have much memory of that. With that said, you might think I am a problematic player or a minge, and yeah, I was 2 years ago. I don’t even know the last time I was warned. I try my best to be a positive person in the community. I give out money to new players, I help new players with the server or if they’ve just got the game, I do my best to educate them on the mechanics like building and the roleplaying aspect. I’m willing to learn anything I have to, and I’m confident that I will make a great staff member if accepted, their may be reasons to not accept me and I’ve atoned for them to the best of my abilities, though that does not excuse my behavior in the past. I have a significant amount of experience moderating Garnet DarkRP, other DarkRP servers, and other games. I am level headed and can interpret and apply corrective action in accordance with the D3A guidelines. I have spent a fair bit of time on the server, and have a decent sense of the community that we need to foster now more than ever. 

I have also seen an increase in ticket times and staff presence on the server. This has lead to rule breakers being able to harm other players for a longer amount of time. I believe that I would be able to assist in the same way I was able to last year. While I do have less time to offer than previously, I do get on frequently.

I've experience in leadership/mentoring roles off server, involving many subordinates under my supervision. I feel this translates well into a server staffing role as I am very capable of juggling multiple high-stress incidents at once - actively prioritizing as to what demands immediate attention. Though I have no experience in moderating GMod servers, I believe Garnet Gaming Dark RP would be a great first start for a new challenge.

Why should we choose you over other applicants? Well, I was a part of the Garnet staff team a while ago. I was a staff member for three months before being let go due to the immature actions I took. However, I am familiar with all the rules of this server. I roam around the map constantly checking for roleplays to be a part of, and when I do that, I often see tons of rules being broken.

Even if (which its not) 99% of rule breakers were trolls I would still want to be a part of staff because that 1% thats new or uninformed of the abbreviations or the rules to Drp, I want to be the one that helps inform them I want to be the staff member that helps the players and makes them want to play more. When I was new, I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know where to find or read the rules or anything. I learned to play Garry's Mod through trial and error, basically. I know I could be one of the most competent, most active staff members. I have a dedication to this server like no one else.

     I believe I should be chosen as an applicant for staff because I have prior history with being a moderator for the DarkRP server. With my prior knowledge of moderating on this server and maturity gained over the years I personally think I can help contribute to providing a safer gaming experience for those who choose to play on GarnetGaming. I have over 350 hours of playtime in the server with zero warnings or bans so it is safe to say I have an excellent understanding of the server rules and code of conduct. Though since 2018 I understand a lot has changed within the community and rules and I am willing to listen and learn so that I may assist in any way I can. Although I have haven't logged on into the server since 2019, I still believe GarnetGaming has placed itself as a core-memory in my time playing Garrys Mod as an experience and a community.

     One of my strengths is that I am a patient person and I don't really let things get to me, (ex: minging, trolls, etc). In the real life workplace and in in-game RP scenarios, professionalism always comes first. Another strength I believe I have is a lack of bias, I will always try to hear out both sides and come to a conclusion that is fair for both parties involved. A weakness that I see that may come in the way of moderating for the DarkRP server is that I am a father and work and family comes first. I may not be as active as the other applicants but in my free time I will log my time and involve myself within the community. The details of this consist of me not knowing KOS boundaries in the D-Block holding area and I did not give the person a 3 warning countdown before killing him.

Turns out the cop shot the guy first and I didn't see that happen. I apologized and was warned due to being aware of what I did wrong in this situation.

I would be a great option for being selected as a staff member for the following reasons:

I have a lot of experience being a staff member from another server where I climbed the ranks from Trial Moderator up to Head Admin and became a document creator for fine tuning of rules and staff training. I also created spreadsheets for record keeping of staff members and the tracking of quota regulations to determine eligibility for promotions/demotions. I am a person who is capable of being completely unbiased in staff sits. I am very good at keeping my composure when dealing with difficult situations or people as well as holding myself to a very high moralistic agenda. My availability is typically late nights when it seems most of the other staff members on the roster provided by the forums are not usually on and active.

All in all I have experience that sets me out from most other applicants. I have like qualities of some of the great staff members seen on the server. I am also that weird guy who loves to read things on a daily basis and fittingly enough read every rule to the server to not only make myself more knowledgeable but to also learn all the fun ways to play the game correctly. I feel after putting this many hours onto this server it is time for me to really be a part of this great community and help give back to the server that has done so much for me.

I was a Senior Moderator back in 2020, so I know quite a bit about the community, the staff processes, and the rules in place.  While I know that much has changed in terms of the staff guides, rules, and what-not I have read them and I fully understand them.  I have dealt with a variety of player interactions, ensuring the enforcement of rules and ensuring fairness so that everyone has a good experience on the server, because that’s what this is all about.

More importantly, I truly do care about the community and the server.  I’m not applying because I want a cool nametag that says “staff”.  I’m applying because I want to help maintain a friendly and safe environment for the community that I love.  I love dealing with sits, guiding new players, and honestly just simply being a welcoming and active member.  I trust that I can be a dependable member of the staff team right away with only a small amount of time to get used to the position again.

If so, Include details:  Yes, I have two previous bans from this server (4-5+ years old).  One was for "Mass RDM - AOS doesn't = KOS" on January 27th, 2020.  I was new to Garry's Mod and had never played before (nor did I know pretty much anything about it) and thought AOS and KOS were the same thing.  Another was "Harassment to players (discord + forums) which is not acceptable as staff. | Very short ban" on July 6th, 2021.  This was when I had an argument with a community member over Discord that bled into the forums.  I have no other bans from any other servers that I know of outside of my friend's and I messing around on our own private games.  I do hope that this will be taken into account as I have changed a lot since then; going from a high schooler during the Covid Lockdowns with unlimited free-time to a fully functioning adult.
