  3. Description: The purpose of this suggestion is to rework the Afghan Elite : Mercenary and US Elite : Venal classes and move their weapons to the Recon/Ghillie classes respectively. Takes away a bunch of one shot snipers from the server (helps with the base-camping everyone cries about) while reworking two major donator classes into fun, stealthy ones with a gimmick. IMAGINE HARPOONING MFS ACROSS THE BATTLEFIELD. Afghan Elite : Mercenary Rework Change the model to: models/player/kuma/taliban_bomber.mdl Remove the garnet_sniper_sv98 from the class Remove the cw_deagle from the class Add the khr_rugermk3 to the class, edit the stats to lower firerate and increase damage. Should be able to compete with guns in a CQB/mid-range setting. Add the m9k_harpoon to the class, make it one shot and give it 10 harpoons. Increase throw distance if possible. Increase the speed boost of this class even further. If we don't like the idea of a pistol that's actually usable, then the cw_l85a2 can be used alternatively. US Elite : Venal Rework Remove the garnet_sniper_sr338 from the class Remove the cw_deagle from the class Add the khr_sr1m to the class, edit the stats to be a much more powerful pistol alongside the ruger. Add the m9k_knife to the class, make it one shot with a stab or a throw. Increase the speed boost of this class even further. If we don't like the idea of a pistol that's actually usable, then the garnet_ar_sig552 is a fine replacement to the SR. AFG Elite : Recon Change the model to Merc's old model: models/player/kuma/taliban_grunt.mdl Remove the garnet_sniper_m95 from the class Add the garnet_sniper_sv98 to the class

  4. -1 I do agree that Merc and Venal are extremely powerful due to their 1 shot snipers, however completely replacing them with melee classes would not be a good idea. A lot of people paid $25 for sniper classes, and maybe you should look into changes into the weapons themselves and not stray too far from what the class was intended for. However, these melee classes seem insane and I think a perfect substitute to these classes would be to instead replace US Riot and AFG Anarchist with your class ideas.

  5. I have yet to comment on this, but Reynolds you have put up a valid argument on why the reserves system is flawed and I applaud you for that. But reserves can incentivize going for officer in a faction and committing yourself to that faction for a while. If you want reserves, you go for it. However, I personally think the reserves system could possibly raise requirements to apply, maybe CPT+ because that’s higher officer ranks in my opinion. And people who accomplish that rank are more deserving of reserves and have higher chances of coming back to that faction. At the same time, I will say that faction leaders can have some say in this, they can control what reserves get submitted and what can’t. However, I will stay neutral to the fact because I think reserves are necessary, but to an extent. Thank you, Reynolds, for taking notice to this flawed system! This argument was very interesting to read.

  6. First of all, the title is a bait. Second of all, you are misunderstanding the fact that anyone with a Venal/Merc whitelist just lost their 1 shot sniper. Yea, they could absolutely donate for Recon/Ghillie and get it back, but this change serves as an immediate cut down. Third of all, because the title is a bait, this suggestion isn't to fix basecamping; its to make Ghillie/Recon useful classes that are worth the $35 they cost. Right now, there is 0 reason to purchase Recon/Ghillie over Venal/Merc. Fourth of all, no, the target of this suggestion is not "targeted towards one shot sniper classes" and the entire "this will improve basecamping" point within the thread is just an added bonus of this change. Speaking for myself, someone who has purchased both Venal & Merc, I'd be willing to give them both up to streamline the elite classes and remove a few people with one shot snipers. I also realize there are some people who value these classes and weapons much more than I do. If we're really not willing to give up those classes in favor of a nerf, then here are some alternative changes that might make some of you happier than what was originally suggested: Nerf garnet_sniper_sv98 mag size to 5. Nerf garnet_sniper_sr338 mag size to 5. Buff the garnet_sniper_m96 mag size to 10. Change US Elite : Riot to US Elite : Assassin and replace its loadout with the suggested one for Venal above. Change model to: models/player/spfrc_gogglesplayer.mdl Replace AFG Elite : Anarchist to the proposed loadout above. Change model to: models/player/kuma/taliban_bomber.mdl Basically, do what @Reynolds said. Rework Riot/Anarchist into these new classes, but also nerf the mag size of SV/SR. Buff the M95 mag size to 10 to have a longer engagement time than the Merc/Venal classes.

Remove the most useless and underused class from each faction and to give firepower to SOC medical classes so that they are actually used. Remove 055 Brigade : Zealot. Give models/player/recon_1player.mdl to 055 Brigade : Healer. Give garnet_lmg_pkm to 055 : Healer. Remove Red Unit : Militant. Give khr_toz194 to Red Unit : Watchman. Give garnet_fraggrenade to Red Unit : Combatant. Remove ISI : Assassin. Give garnet_carbine_73 to ISI : Field Medic. Remove US Ranger : Marksman. Give cw_m14 to US Ranger : Field Medic. Remove US Green Beret : Demolition. Give garnet_shotgun_m3super90 to US Green Beret : Field Medic. Remove US Delta Force : Infiltrator. Give garnet_shotgun_m620 to US Delta Force : Doctor. "What about those infiltration classes?! Don't we need those to infiltrate??" No, allow any class from either T1 faction to participate in infiltration.

  9. Description: I have a wild thought, and I may be phrasing it wrong. However my views may differ from yours. Let's neuter long range Combat. It would be a lot of steps involved, and a little complicated, but would be healthy for rookies to stay in places. War is determined by who has the most long range weapons, to the point where if one side has more long range engagement, they win. This causes rookies to leave over and over. If it's US rookie Tali leave, if it the opposite, army rookies leave. So let's think about just ruining long range Combat for the majority entirely. There are multiple routes you can take. I'm more partial to this one. Complete removal of the majority of snipers. Orsis, gone just gone. Mosin just left. One shot gone, no more sniper donations. Donated sniper classes, here's your shiny new assault rifle, fuck em. Faction snipers? Locked to a solid one person, only one person in the faction. Army? One guy. Rangers? One guy. Isi? One guy. Tali, you guessed it, one guy. Just completely gone. Would be hated by a lot of people. Someone else said this, one faction only has snipers, guess it would be rangers and someone on AFG, don't know who. I don't like it because if one's dead, one's alive bam, back to where we at now. Nerfs and keeps, orsis? Now it is 60 dmg. Only headshots or lit players go down. DMRs? 38 to 41 dmg. Would fuck up a couple things, but wouldn't really deter camping, just make it more annoying. I expect a lot of -1s which is fine, but when I say I'm role-playing rangers by basecamping, or role-playing badri (isi?) There's a reason for that. We all know who the people are. We all do. Mercs outside US base, and rangers and the s3 outside afg base. Enjoy my 15 minute take.

  11. +1 I agree with the premise of the suggestion. Not gonna lie I didn't read through all of the replies just the main suggestion, but here is my take: Replace ghillie with venal weapons, replace recon with mercenary weapons. Change venal and mercenary to be a different type of class (not a meme one with harpoons or a knife lmao). Possibly a class with a medkit + assault rifle OR a medkit + SMG - considering that both elite classes with a medkit have battle rifles. This is what I think would work best, but an interesting alternative would be to make M95 just straight up semi-auto and keep the lower mag size.

There’s nothing stopping players from doing this unless I missed it in your suggestion it’s simple faction leaders start providing incentives to get intel (promotion cooldowns with proof of collection) players start planning early hours to get on and proceed to collect the intel so you’d have to spawn it in at a certain time to balance the chances of collecting the intel Already in the suggestion Actually this is not in the suggestion it is quite the opposite. As stated right here. Props should not have a set spawn a script should be made where the props can spawn in any surface area of the map besides bases or objectives. Already what the plan would be Great! Than I think the percentages and values that’d be changed should be stated in the suggestion to give players a better idea of how this whole system would work. No it wouldn't I believe creating a CUSTOM ADDON that can automatically spawn in helicopters, orbital strikes, explosives, and a completely new custom UI would most def impact server performance unless garnet himself can find a way to optimize it which I would assume he’d have to do considering how much space an addon that can randomize spawn points for dozens of different props on a map at a certain time every day would take up not to add onto the fact that the server would have to automatically detect left over props and remove them. shoot them and wait for it to respawn Lmao, I wish you could say that about basecamping right? The issue I am talking about is a population imbalance and this suggestion can further that. Idk if your talking about shooting players or props but either way the amount of players a side has on completely dominates the way this system is used.

  15. -1 I don't understand how this suggestion is supposed to help with cutting down on basecamping at all? The only things I noticed that the suggestion changes regarding basecamping is that now Mercenary mains would simply need to be Recon instead because, according to your suggestion, Recon would have the same model and gun that mercenary just had. Keeping this in mind, in addition to the fact that US Ghillie was left untouched, there would still be a donator class on either side (AFG Recon and US Ghillie) with a head-glitch friendly model and a one-shot sniper. Not only does this suggestion not affect basecamping, but it also has pretty much zero effect on donator one-shot sniper classes which is what this suggestion appears to be targeted towards. Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding anything.

  21. +1 I'm all for trying a straight removal of most snipers. I'd say the only available snipers should be the current class ones, but then cap them at 1 slot. Problem is here is that from my most recent suggestion, it seems people aren't willing to make sacrifices for this. Touching Merc/Venal or really any other sniper is apparently a heinous crime.

  22. Bad idea for multiple reasons. First of all, I'd rather not have anyone with $100 to have access to a harpoon or knife. Second of all, the purpose of this suggestion is to rework a couple of Elite classes so that they are actually useful. Adding those things to credits negates that goal. Well when you donate, you donate. You are not actually buying anything. You are given a privilege of using the whitelist as a result. This is why I think people should be more open to changing up the elite classes, because while you personally purchased it for the class, you don't actually own shit. In regards to how people would feel; I don't think anyone would actually care if Anarchist/Riot got reworked as those classes are actually literally useless as of right now. The practical use is doming fatasses across the map with a harpoon/knife.
