Why should we choose you over other applicants?: [minimum 2 paragraphs]

 

            To introduce myself, I was a Lead Admin during the Evity period of DRP and have been playing on garnet since 2017. I departed the staff team and garnet when I enlisted in the US Army in 2019. I recently was accepted into the green to gold program (enlisted to officer), so I will have quite a bit of free time on my hands while I obtain my bachelors degree in order to commission. I especially have a lot of free time right now during the summer, and in future summers as well. I returned because garnet gaming scratches an itch for decent RP without the insane crap some of the other DRP servers are peddling (200+ jobs is not a flex, and I am not reading your bible sized rulebook on all of them). I have extensive experience and hours of both staffing and RP, as well as managing personnel and Human Resources tasks from both DRP and my previous job where I assisted the commander (officer) and first sergeant (Senior Enlisted Leader) in managing ~150 soldiers. I am also a stickler for server rules and conduct, as there really are not many rules to follow on Garnet compared to other servers which is part of why I like Garnet as a server so much. The rules Garnet does have are very necessary, and part of the reason for my application was playing an indie game called Aneurysm IV, which had many amazing game-play elements but was completely ruined by lack of moderation. Many people say that DRP Rules are overbearing and hinder roleplay (which I agree with on many other servers) but the moment you take it away you find out why they exist. Instances like this are what make me passionate for maintaining a good space for RP and thus make me a good staff member.

 

             I have extensive experience in Gmod DRP staffing, and DRP staffing with D3A and garnet in particular, being a former lead admin. As a service member I also understand quite a few things that make a sound administrator, such as doing the right thing when nobody is watching, giving both reward and punishment impartially, and setting the standard for good conduct and appearance. I am not unreasonable, and I am forgiving to newer or younger players as they get started in DRP. My kindness is not weakness, however. If somebody obviously has no intention of role-playing or makes the same mistakes twice having been told directly by myself or other staff members, they will be swiftly reprimanded. I am also skilled with administrative tasks such as managing large amounts of personnel and maintaining documentation using applications like MS Excel and MS Access. I have extensive experience training personnel and handling complaints. I am unafraid to respectfully give input when I believe someone is being treated unfairly by staff or another player. Overall, you should choose me for staff because I have the Experience to Lead, Knowledge of Administration and sound intellect to enforce good conduct and ensure the Roleplay experience on Garnet stays as good as it always has been.

Real long time ago I was removed from staff on DIV rp due to a enforcement disagreement. cant really remember the details bc it was a decade ago and I was 13 but I am sure you could find it with the wayback machine if you were inclined. Otherwise no.


Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: Yes, on the old forums in 2018.


How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: During the summer I can contribute ~19 hrs per week minimum, when college starts up again it will probably be more condensed to the weekends and for shorter periods when things get busy. still should be able to contribute at least 15 hrs a week most of the time because my degree is not that hard.


If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod?: US Army ROTC, IM Lacrosse, getting my PPL, and gettin them gains 😈.

I've had a handful of interactions with you but just from those few interactions I know that you are mature and respectful enough to become a staff member again, you've shown to me that you have a good understanding of the rules as well. I think with someone with your amount of experience would be good to have in the staff team so I see no reason to not give you another chance staffing for Garnet.
