Why should we choose you over other applicants?: 

Since 2016 I have been an active member of the GarnetGaming Community. Garnet was the first server I've ever had the pleasure of being a staff member on. I learned how to use teamspeak at 13 years old just to get accepted. I have always shown a huge commitment to this community and the players that run around on the server everyday.  I have always tried to be an active member of the community no matter what. I have never been banned in my 10 years of garnet for minging, rdm, harrassment, etc.

 

I have years and years of experience dealing with difficult situations regarding rule breaks and more, i have always loved dealing with it and coming up with fair solutions for both parties. I dont see being an administrator as a role to punish people, I see it as a role to help everyone get along and have fun playing the video game. I have a pretty good knowledge of all of the commands, how to use logs even though they've of course changed since before, And ive re-read all of the server rules to refresh my memory. 

 

I love this server, I would love for you guys to give me a chance to become a member of the staff team again. Although I know im an old player and I havent been here for years i've been putting in time since my unban 4 months ago to get to know players of the community and run around and understand the server again since I've been gone. I'd love a chance to learn from the current staff members about how it all works now and get some more experience under my belt.

Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, Include details: I was Banned in 2020 from garnet due to a ban on MilitaryRP for cheating. For 4 years I have been appealing my ban showing my dedication to the server. If I did this action I would have NO issue showing accountability for my actions, However, This is not the case. I've continuously maintained my innocence from these accusations which got me banned on darkrp and stripped of my administrator role. The "proof" for the ban is somewhere posted in my old ban appeals if anyone wants to go have a look.

Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: I have a couple years of applications I dont really remember the dates

How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: About 15 hours a week and probably more on the weekends.

If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod?:  I love fishing, cars, and boats. I am currently in school for Marine Technology and will eventually go to classes to learn a specific engine although i am unsure which one rn, I also currently work security at a dispensary.

When we spoke a couple of days ago about you applying, the one thing I told you was waiting and allowing people to get to know you in game. It would of done alot for you because the way people are judging you now is based off your application / experience but even no matter how many times you deny, at the end of the day there was multiple appeals that have been denied against because of that cheating ban. 
 

if you would of waited some time, the bad rep your name has gained assuming you don't act stupid would slowly go from "well he's a former cheater with experience and a good app" to "well, he's a good guy in game, doesn't break the rules and acts matures, yeah he might be a former cheater years ago, but everything else checks the boxes and I would love to see him get a opportunity to join the staff team again" 

 

My opinion? 
I know what you can bring to the staff team based off your prior experience,  you got a great application and the time I seen you in game so far while not too much, you haven't been causing issues from what I understand so far. I wouldn't mind seeing you on the team

+1 You seem nice and friendly enough in our brief interactions on the server, and you clearly have the experience and dedication to be staff.

 

To be honest, saying "once a cheater, always a cheater" seems a bit over the top here. I don't know the details of your ban and the cheating accusations to have a strong opinion there, but I do know people grow up. A 22 year old hardly has the same maturity level as they did at 15/16, and I think some grace should be given. I know I made plenty of mistakes as a teenager that I learnt from, why can you?

 

If this doesn't work out, I agree with Gunner. Just put in more time introducing yourself to the server, I haven't seen you a ton aside from the last couple days. Prove to people why you can be trusted, especially when they're skeptical.

Neutral haven't personally had enough interactions with you myself. Prior staff history is a def a plus, and to be fair anyone that's not lazy/will go afk for hours is a plus for the server imo 

 

Read more responses and reread the full app and saw the cheating ban stuff as I skimmed through prior to be honest that really sets me back towards -1 as I don't personally take lightly to any sort of cheating or exploiting when it comes to online multiplayer games. While people can change and show promise what says you don't just fall back in line of doing the same stupid behavior. Again I personally haven't interacted with you or know you that much so behavior could have changed/matured a lot but also cheating should not be taken lightly in any regards.

This is a great application; you have prior staff experience, and you even read the updated staff rules, which is always a good thing. But man, that cheating ban is the only thing setting me back. If this were a garnet-only offense MAYBE I would've thrown my +1 or a neutral, but I checked your Steam profile, and you have MULTIPLE cheating bans on record. I can imagine they didn't make this decision to ban you for cheating because you were good at the game. Gunner has an amazing point. I think I have seen you maybe once or twice in-game, and that's not enough for me to change my mind. It's great that you were so eager to apply for staff, but I would've waited until everyone got to know you better. Sorry about that, man.

You meet the criteria, but with a past cheating ban (with blatant proof) and after coming back to the server, reapplying in fewer than 5 days, I cannot support your application. Unfortunately with your past you will have to prove yourself once again, I understand the ban was 6 years ago, but you have zero history with the server since then. Additionally, you were fired from the staff team after receiving a that ban, which is less than ideal. Take a few weeks/months to get a better community reputation and then reapply.

Crazy that the ban happened nearly six years ago and people still hold that against you. Even more so because you appealed it successfully.

 

Don't play DarkRP, but +1ing the app because if someone is dedicated enough to come back and give time to a community that removed them, they'll probably do fine.

 

For the record for DRP staff, I was the MRP staff member at the time who banned him, and who conferred with Proggy/DarkRP Management at that time for the sister servers.
