Basically, Diomonder made the map and the assets - when you load into the map, you'll pretty much render everything you can see, inside building underground so on, in some cases, you render the entire map. Now imagine not touching that and having 80+ people running around, the server and client would take a massive FPS drop. Right now, Garnet is adding things like Area Portals, Skips, Hides, etc - so you only render what you need. Inside of a building you're in, field of view; essentially you're no longer rendering things you can't use/see. 

There wouldn't be a point to render US DB, if you can't see it or you aren't inside. Like making the actual map it's self, it's a tedious process, because even if you miss a small portion of area portals/sky box, you get a "leak" or .lin, - long story short, there's a reason good maps aren't thrown out like crazy. It's the difference between someone running 20 FPS or 50 FPS, even with a low grade PC/Laptop. It's also the difference between us and [REDACTED] (who don't give 2 fucks about players and the FPS loss they encounter)

Based on that metric, most of us are going to see a minimum of 30% more FPS than we do on CSCDesert.

Dope, hope these numbers stay steady with heavy load.
