[Adric’s Resignition]

Well folks, it’s been fun. I may be around next month or so but I’ve decided to leave the server for a wee bit and relinquish my moderator status.

 

Unfortunately I’ve been having few too many issues with folk on the game. The social aspect of it has warn down and where there used to be pockets of fun people there’s just more rdm and assholes. A lot of great people have seemingly just vanished, so I too am gonna fade away for a bit. 
 

besides that I just can’t hack it as mod anyway. Since the day I applied people have been treating me differently. I was just targeted for a raid just cus I warned someone. Really I was here cus of all the fun and love and now that’s all gone unfortunately. 
 

also, there’s no way my shit computer can run Gmod, OBS, Firefox, TS, Discord, AND upload sites all at the same time so I’m physically incapable of modding properly. 
 

hopefully I’ll be back on in maybe 2 weeks or sometime again. Glad to have been here for as long as I was and I’ll remember my times fondly here at Garnet!

I wanna +1 this real bad. I’ve interacted with Nick a few times in game and he’s a cool dude. Doesn’t play stupid or harm anyone. He has past admin experience, the paragraphs are great but I’ll tell you from experience-you need to record EVERYTHING. Things get really crazy in the roofs and evidence is the most important resource up there. But as for Nick as a person, he’s a pretty cool cat

"I believe" simply means "My own input". It's not my appeal. I'm simply adding my two cents as an observer and witness to the situation. I happened to fall asleep with the link still open, I have evidence to allow the people to make their own judgement. My involvement is at maximum thus far.

I was with jj when this was presented, in fact I still have links to the video. I believe, regardless if the information was public in the steam profile that we cannot allow players to exhibit the effort of going through someones steam profile just to gather information and publicly displaying it

this is absolutely correct, i was getting some addon errors for report and tried returning the reporter, i thought the reportee was the guy left in sit and copied ID by contact. i immediately attempted to get staff involved and i warned the reportee

Will has been by my side since my third day online. I try to spend most of my time with him and Mr. Bitties. Most of the time we’re chilling out by the bar me and will created as our hangout zone, anyone who walks in are immediately greeted to advice and wills always throwing down to help those that don’t know what they’re doing yet. 
 

Will has been one of those players that want to bring more ideas to the community. We often talk about dumb games and events we could potentially do around the server. He’s very compassionate and friendly and doesn’t tolerate toxic behaviors. He has a really cool head and never reacts inappropriately. He knows how to either fix it or how to let it go. 
 

Will has also helped during my performances and has been ridiculously supportive. If there’s anyone I can 100% trust, it’s definitely Will. He was the first one I came to completely trust and he managed to leave that impression almost immediately. 
 

He doesn’t base, he doesn’t print, he doesn’t raid or mug just to attack players. He and I share that wandering observer passion, just strolling around and checking out what’s going on in town and we’ll break off to teach new players how to build and level properly.

    Why should we choose you over other applicants?: well, I think a lot of folk know just how much this game means to me and how much effort I put into it. I’ve grown attached to so many players and I’ve really invested a lot of time just to be here and hang out with everyone. I don’t care too much for the basing or printers and that allows me to spend my time coming up with more original ways to enjoy the game such as my grenade toss corner game, my singing performances, and this upcoming concert. Orchestrating the event has really pushed me to want to be more involved than I already am. 

I apologize if this paragraph doesn’t really pertain to the application process too much but I’ve seen this server as sort of this giant social experiment. An entire virtual city ran completely by players. Just watching the chaos and roleplaying has been SO interesting to me. To see the things that people will do in a world where the consequences are virtually little to none. Strangely, I actually admire the chaos, I can be sensitive at times and the mayhem really humbles me and allows me to work on a social aspect of myself. It’s really all so surreal sometimes. 

I really want to give to the players. I want to introduce something interesting every time I’m online. Games, events, I’ll even leave little Easter eggs in the game for players to stumble upon while I’m afk like the mayor’s vault filled with fake printers and a congratulations sign, a text screen left underwater in the corner of the beach mentioning to PM me for a reward, or just a cute little statue hidden in the sewers. I strongly believe that putting in the game will give a lot back and it’s been absolutely true. I think people recognize that I just want everyone to have fun and play the game properly.

unfortunately I don’t believe in biases, and that includes myself. I do have some concerns if I am to be accepted as staff but I know with training I can make sure I do the absolute best job possible. I’ve worried about handling my friends if they were to make mistakes but I also believe that the system put in place for moderators require proof and facts to back up a moderators decisions. I’ve debated wether I should apply or not but after an experience in the server where there was no moderation for 3-4 hours I was able to screenshot a lot of problems and immediately report those offenders. During a chaotic moment in the server I was able to provide a safe place for players to hide out while the spawn area was prop blocked and became essentially an arena death match zone. Those offenders were reported and banned. I don’t want this paragraph to be my undoing within this application, I simply want to announce that I take this role seriously and hopefully show my integrity. So much so that I’m even willing to question myself.

I hope that the people will be on my side and agree with me that I could be an excellent addition to the server staff and I’d really love to enforce the rules in a proper manner. To anyone reading this and considering I may be a good fit, I really hope I can live up to any expectations you may have. I really only want what’s best for the players. I’m sorry if this was a bit of a rant! Thank you!!

I attend some of the largest events in America as a verified vendor and I also co-TO (tournament organizer) in the worlds largest Smash Brothers regions. (all over Florida) Of course I also play Ukulele and have experience as an ex producer and manager for a small record label.
