Well first off, officers aren't allowed to put up signs in PD. Secondly, the lobby has to be public.

I've been using an Etekcity H7PX+ for a while now. USB headset, braided cable, and the tip of the mic lights up when unmuted (personally I like it).

Depends on your definition of outdated. It can almost only be acquired used (the rare new ones are expensive). From the right seller, it can be cheaper than a 1060-6GB, albeit a bit slower.
