    Hello Garnet Gamers,

If you had been a member of the community for quite some time and your dream job/side gig is to yell at toxic players on Rust while suggesting ideas for the betterment of the server or monitoring servers for activity/downtime, this post is for you!

    Rust Community Management

This role entails you will have access to all servers' RCONs through our interface on BattleMetrics, you will be liable for insuring the servers' uptime, and seek out new ideas as to keep the servers feeling fresh, providing a steady supply of players. The performance of this role will be directly translated into our overall Rust population, which right now is at a relatively low place in comparison to our peak time last year.

For chances to be in your favor, it is optimal if you have been a contributing members of this community for atleast 1-year and your account is in good standing with minimal bans and warns. This position will be part-time meaning 20 hours a week of work expected, and the pay will be $12.5 USD starting at ~$1000 a month. With all growth within our Rust servers, whether it be population, or monetization, you will receive a percentage. Meaning there is a very high potential for $15 and full-time opportunities depending on your set of skills.

    Where do I apply?

You are welcome to comment on this thread with the position it is you're seeking. It does not require any restrictive formatting, but rather just create a response describing why you would be a good fit for this position, and what your stand is within the Rust staff community.

Can I take this role without pay?

This is a question i've received numerous times in regards to Rust, this specific position is not available without pay, however, you are able to administrate the server at your free-time and contribute more than you are required as many players do. Specifically for a managerial role, I am holding high expectations, which I cannot uphold players who are dedicating their freetime

Thank you very much for viewing this thread, and have a great day!

If anyone should be chosen as the new Garnet manager, it should be Aiden. For the longest time, Aiden has been consistently active and working towards the betterment of the Garnet community as a whole. Despite his age, he handles situations in a very mature manner and is able to restrain his emotions when making decisions. He has been determined for the longest time to become manager after having learned the ropes from 421. And having gotten to know him these past few months, he isn't such a bad guy. You'd get your money's worth.

  3. NEUTRAL

You seem genuine in your interest for mod, and have seemingly good experience with similar rolls.

You where honest and forthcoming about previous ban/punishments rather than lying or trying to hid it. I cant see the reason for the ban or chatlogs so I cannot give insight on that.

Your paragraph seems genuine however it is slim in my opinion. I would've liked to have seen more details about what makes you a beneficial and unique applicant. as well as a fair attempt at enough substance to fill two paragraphs as requested.

    Read application rules.

    +1/Neutral

    Everything looks good... BUT.

I would advise you NOT to improvise if accepted to the staff team. Our job is to uphold the rules. If something lacks clarity, I hope you'd seek that out and not improvise as we'd like to maintain a united front on the rules. 🙂

Additionally, your activity is a little spotty. I'm going to start at May 25th

    • Played May 25th
      • Week and a half break
    • June 5th (15 hours)
    • June 6th (54 minutes)
      • Month and a week break
    • July 13th-17th (~32 hours)
      • 2 week+ break
    • August 2nd (51 minutes)
      • Couple day break
    • August 5th-12th (~49 Hours)

I completely understand that people have lives, families, friends and commitments. You're application states that you're available 10 hours per wipe, but your activity doesn't reflect that.

If you're willing to put in the time and make the commitment to the staff team, I think you'd be a great addition. The reason for my Neutral is due to those contingencies.

    Best of luck to you.

Very fair criticisms. I would like to clarify about what I meant by improvisation; I didn’t mean improvising In decisions on punishment and such. I meant more in situations where I would have to deal with a player who is upset and reaching out or asking for help with a problem that doesn’t have a cut and dry answer or may not need mod action. I’d try to explain what staff can or cannot do in a way that hopefully helps them understand and resolve problems that may arise in the future. I’m sorry if it came across as me wanting to play god and make my own rules, that was not the intention. And yes my play time has been pretty hot or miss. This is due to a few reason; one I’m just getting back into rust. I took a fairly long break because most of my friends stopped playing, I’m not playing again with some new friends and found a new love for the game. I’ve also been playing on a few other servers just rotating through trying to find the one for me which I think I have done with garnet. And lastly and most importantly I’ve been preparing for a big move. I’m moving out/in to my new place the 14th and will probably be busy that week but after that I should start going back to a fairly active play time, usually more late at night since I have school.

very important; I hope this didn’t come across as argumentative, I was just trying to acknowledge those very fair criticisms and try to shed light as to why they may be so as to help you guys in the decision making process!

    thanks again

What is your playtime on our Rust servers?[/s] 175 hrs
Do you have access to Discord/TeamSpeak and a microphone?: Yes
Do you have the ability to screen record whilst playing Rust?: Yes but at the cost of a small performance hit
Did a moderator/admin help you apply?:  No

Why should we choose you over other applicants? [minimum 2 paragraphs]

I feel as though i would be a beneficial addition to staff since I play fairly avidly. I would be able to monitor chat attentively whilst playing a wipe. I also feel as though I'm fairly active in regards to my ability to reply to questions new comers may have. I would also try to assist in whatever ways i could so as not to bother other mods and admins who might be busy. without trying to sound too self satisfied and arrogant I believe that I work well in settings that require improvisation, people skills, and problem solving. i also believe that i would not require very much oversight once i get my footing meaning time wouldn't be wasted with redundancy fixing things I've already handled.

i also feel like i am a fairly versatile person. i feel like i could handle a wide variety of problems and tasks that may be required of me. i would greatly enjoy the opportunity to join the community further that it seems that garnet gaming has fostered. i also hope that i would be an addition other staff and community members would like and get along with. for example, in my brief interactions with Cash, itwade (im not sure if they are still on the staff), spicysaige, and rat man, i feel like we got along nicely and had fun together in wipes.

Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: No

Have you ever been banned or punished on our server?: No

How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: 10 ish hours per wipe, hard to say.

If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Rust? pc building. intermural golf. college student. i used to play soccer and row boats in highschool.

Did you read the staff rules?:  PhoenixJedi
