I mean, I kind of think of it as you’re able to kill that person if he damages you until you die. After new life rule comes into effect.

For the record, I don't disagree with you. My only point is that every person may have a different idea of an amount of time that fits within an RP situation because it's not written and is left up to interpretation from the players involved in RP and the staff who have to deal with sits.

If I was told 2 years ago by an admin it was around 3 minutes and never heard or read anything since then, and you Gunnar as recent staff on the server enforced otherwise, then theres just needs to be better communication that doesn't need to be on the forums and can be likely be resolved in the staff discord or brought up at their next staff meeting so Merk doesn't need to add micromanaging rules on the server.

Even @Vortex's -1 response sounds valid and within RP and I don't disagree with. But doesn't yours and Vortex's responses to me "assuming" something that I was told by an admin show that perhaps show that theres an issue within the suggestion or staff communication or training?

why would someone think that lol

I'm trying to remember which admin it was at the time, maybe it was Henderson? But ages ago I was in a sit for RDM because of this exact thing. I was told that about 2-3 minutes is a generally accepted amount of time for RP actions for arresting and killing in an RP scenario, like how the 3 minutes for the NLR is the RP amount of time to pass.

There's also no reason to be condescending.

This is less of an issue and more of a general opinion on the proposed class, but I don't think the Priest should be allowed to print or anything. I think it would be funny and make sense if the Priest spawned with the "Annabelle" weapon from HL2.

I'm mostly for having the class not be allowed to conduct any illegal activity like hobos to make it more focused on the RP of the church idea.

    Agreed

  5. Description: Add in a priest / pastor job for more RP scenarios, and to utilize the church base more. I don't necessarily think that the job needs to be exclusive to owning the church doors, like the hotel manager, but like the Club Owner and how the Club can still be purchased by anyone.

Reasoning: Part of any reason to add in new roles is how it affects the RP of the server. I think adding in a priest would surely add in new RP experiences in game, especially when it's a role like the Club Owner who fits in the RP of the church on the map.

IMO, a priest should be able to:

    - base in the church

    - have a donation box to collect donations for the church

    - recruit citizens in a party for the church's congregation

    - have a medkit to bestow onto the players the glory that is the lord through healing.

As far as printers & weapons go, I'd let the staff determine that as I have no strong feelings one way or the other. Though, I would feel like if the Priest cannot perform any illegal actions such as raiding or money printing, perhaps the church they establish is exempt from being raided.

Additional Information: This can also make use of the father grigori model, and have a new model as the bartender as well.

Sorry man, but as a near life long hobo stan, I don't see this as an issue that needs to be addressed. Can a hobo theoretically obtain a rifle or shotgun? Sure, but that also means that every other class that has weapon restrictions also can. Hobo's aren't supposed to be the type of class to defend or attack with heavy weapons like snipers, it doesn't fit the meta of the class.

As far as the enforcement goes on Hobos using weapons larger than a pistol, that's mostly up to the staff to know the rules to be able to enforce it, and players who know the rules to catch when reporting. Many people as hobos have used shotguns or whatever, and I think most forget about it during a report.

Classes that can't use weapons larger than a pistol:

    - Hobo

    - Hobo Lord

    - Medic

    - Parkourist

    - Prostitute

    - Covid Spreader

    - Deliveryman

    - DJ (Some of you forgot or didn't know, didn't you?)

Is roleplaying as an Army private who is being instructed by a 14 year old kid from California to go and capture an objective from the Taliban even important in my life anymore? Probably not. I am 22 years old. I am an "old" man for GG standards at this rate.

I graduated college in 2014, and mostly thought the same thing to your points. I'm 32 now, I've been married for 7 years.

Life doesn't really "get" in the way of anything, that just is life. I've played on gaming communities for probably 20 years now starting on CS 1.6, and still kick it in Gmod, or still occasionally CSS. Gaming has just been a past time for me when I've got nothing else going on, it's my way to relax after work.  The whole reason I started to play Gmod more frequently in the last 2 years I've been on GG is because it's a gaming forum and community.

I will say, that many of you don't know how good you have it to have a dedicated gaming community to play on. These communities were everywhere in the 00's and started to die off more in the mid 2010's, and are more rare it seems in the 2020s. For those who play the servers, and frequent the forums, you are all a part of a gaming tradition that is slowly being lost due to the change of gaming as a whole, and time itself.

There's that line from The Office where Andy says "I wish there was a way to know you're in the good old days, before you've actually left them". And as probably fucking cringe it is for me to say that, I certainly think of the good old days playing on the PF and HG servers in CSS in the early 2010s that I've dumped thousands of hours into.

There is going to come a day this website, and the servers shut down. So soak in the time that you can play on these communities while you can.

I think because of how long it takes to obtain credits, especially 100 to get a payroll for 50k, that there really isn't much of an incentive to add it to the credits store. Especially since the crates those keys unlock are already a lot of money, if someone waits to collect credits to unlock a key, they still have to spend a lot of cash to unbox a case.

I like looping, only for the fact that it is a pain in the ass to go over and manually set songs every time.

If there was an option to somehow play Soundcloud playlists on the radio, I would +1 this in a heartbeat, but as of right now, looping is too useful to remove.

Primarily my suggestion is in regards to lettings DJ's leave the radio to loop any song and AFK or just leave. It's not specifically against the loop function, but honestly having a DJ loop the same song for over an hour while simultaneously AFK'ing as a limited job is becoming a problem IMO.

I really suggest the removal of the loop as a way to make the DJ be active because previously before radios, if a DJ wanted to loop a song it'd be over the mic which does correlate with game activity.

Even if the loop function could be limited to 3 or maybe even 5 loops, that would require activity from the DJ to re-enable it instead of throwing a radio somewhere and letting it go for hours on end.

It's kind of an un-written rule already, that limited classes (Hobo lord, DJ, Assassins, etc.) need to be active so a player cannot grab the class and AFK as it while others want to RP with that class. There certainly has been a larger amount of DJ's AFK'ing, and the server only can have 3 on at once.

I do have to add, in what you say with "the fact that it is a pain in the ass to go over and manually set songs every time." that DJ's before radios came in rarely ever would just loop the same music. DJ's curated music to play over the mic, and were more active.

  10. Description: Remove the option to have a song continue to loop on the DJ radios.

Reasoning: I've noticed that DJ's with radios are putting on the same repeating songs and AFK'ing for hours on end, I don't think this necessarily helps the RP of the specific role. Previously the DJ would have to play music over mic, which needs them to be present in game to do so and more so they would play different music. Now what I'm mostly seeing is DJ's play the same song continuously while not needing to even be present anymore. In some cases, because of some songs only playing 30 seconds there have been the same 30 second loop of a song set by a DJ who then leaves to go elsewhere.

Since the radio can't be muted and can only be lowered to a volume of "1" in the context menu, it can still be loud if the DJ sets the radio to max volume and/or is a song with maxed volume. This mostly is resulting in the same songs, at large volume, being played in areas players normally gather in, with no ability to fully mute, thus becoming constant background media spam.

For as good as an idea as it was to introduce radios, it has slightly started to become a hinderance to the role. There will be 3 DJ's AFK repeating the same song, while other players who may want to DJ resorting to now playing music on the mic outside of the DJ role that I have noticed more often than previously.

The video below I just recorded, which shows how even with the slider at 1, and turning it up slightly how much you hear some songs. This one was also on repeat.

  11. Neutral from me

My minus isn't because you're bad at being staff or anything about you, but kind of in regards to what Conway said. You were staff for a while, quit, shortly later became staff again, recently quit, and now want to come back again shortly after.

This is just IMO here, but I would say take a longer break before coming back to return to staff.

    Also just to point out

When Cyber was adding in cases and testing them before he left, I asked about the possibility of dropping items or adding to inventory and he said it is possible, just that he would have had to do it for every item. IMO, if we can add to our inventory or drop them from the !unbox inventory that would be solid. I have so many Dragon Lores that I have 0 use for since I have a perma, and I can't even equip them to gain more ammo.
