In all honesty, the majority of this post seems redundant. What would be useful is to add ABC categorization or Level based categorization to the F4 menu, in my opinion.

Why not the category thing I suggested, and put them in level order? Both make sense together! Purely alphabetical alone or by level alone would make it hard to sift through. Why not A/B/C test the options and see which people prefer, vs is easier, using analytic data?

  2. Description: Recategorize the jobs, for example, have a:
Neutral category with things like Citizen, Parkourist, Deliveryman, Cinema Owner, Hobo, Hobo Lord, Pianist, Garbage Man, DJ, Club Owner, Hotel Manager, Medic, Doctor, and Blind Guy

Defensive category with things like Protective Drone, Mercenary, Club Bouncer, Pet, and Security Guard

Dealing category: Split the gun dealers down into Small Arms Dealer and Large Arms Dealer for each Import and Export, and then have ones that can sell both small and large, and level them accordingly (for balance purposes, allowing lower levels to only sell smaller guns may help cut down on self-supplying), add Chef and Bartender to the dealing category

Keep the Criminal category mostly the same, de-level Crack Manufacturer to below Meth Manufacturer, because meth is more profitable and gives more XP. Add Prostitute, Pimp, and Covid Spreader to criminals, make spreading covid, selling sex and whatever the pimp does illegal by default

Law Enforcement category stays mostly the same, add Bounty Hunter to the category and allow them to, and encourage them to arrest as well, instead of just killing

Reasoning: More balance, easier to find jobs that you're looking for by category. Selling sex, spreading covid, and pimping should be illegal.

Everyone should be a valid hit target. And yes despite the kind of snarky way you put it towards WohMi, most hitmen avoid attacking the big bases if there's a hit on them, the pay is not worth it most of the time. No sense restricting the Hitman/Assassin just because Hobos might be easier targets than the people walled up in Fort Knox. If a Hitman killing you is enough to drive you away, I don't know if that's more of a skill issue in all honesty.

Would there be a way to make some targets a higher value that hobos? Make it so that hobos aren't really worth much?

Nah, as someone who bases in industrial with printers for 4 hours -- Not a single hitman/assassin will even make it through the first door of our base.
Removing automatic hits from hobos would just make the job boring again when nobody is placing hits

    -1

Hobos are the only non-basing job that hitmen will go out of their way to target? Sounds like a problem with the hitman job itself, if so. Maybe cut the reward for completing hits on hobos because of them not being all that high profile of a target compared to like, the mayor?

Nobody should be safe from random auto-hits. Removing the possibility for Hobos to be targeted randomly can remove a large % of the server. Hobos are one of the easier targets, as well. God forbid you get someone who's been sitting in their Industrial base farming printers for the past 4 hours. Keep Hobos as a target.

If you need an easier target because you can't be bothered to raid someone, seems like hobos aren't the issue? Maybe skill is? Not dissing or anything, this goes for all hitmen/assassins. Just saying!

It just seems like hobos having hits on them automatically is just a reason to RDM them just because, not for any actual RP reason.

    You sure about that anyway

-1 half of the server is hobos and I ain’t waiting just to get someone who is afk in a base while I can just go and kill a hobo even tho it does make sense not to get hits in them the server is full of hobos

I don't think hobos have a real way to defend themselves, no keypad, can only build outside, nothing larger than a pistol, knives require one to be up close to the person. You could always team up with people and raid someone you have a hit on. Everyone else has much more powerful guns, and ones that can even one-hit. It's definitely not a fair fight against a hobo.

  7. Description: Remove the hits, or make it rare for the job of Hobos and maybe Hobo Lord from getting a hit placed on them without a player putting the hit on them

Reasoning: I love being a hobo, but when I'm just building or passively being homeless, I hate being killed by a hitman just because the server says so, not because I did anything to deserve a hit being placed on me. What do I do when I die? I wait around for NLR to be up, and go back to building for another short time before another hit is completed on me, and repeat. Whats the RP reason for "The mob boss" just deciding to kill a random homeless guy?

If not removing the feature, at least make it very rare to have a random hit on a hobo? Maybe more likely for a Hobo Lord?

  8. Yeah, I'm confirming the referral, but it seems like there's room for improvement here. Format is wonky, didn't read the rules before applying, has a bunch of warns and such that I wasn't aware of at the time of requesting a referral, and all that. Sorry, gonna be a -1 from me.

    1. Suggestion 1:
There should be a Cinema Assistant job that can do one of the two:
      1. Also play videos and manage the playlist
      2. Collect money for the Cinema and run the counter

Doing both roles as the Cinema Owner is exhausting and makes it so that I'm either bogged down with making sure people are getting into the cinema and I'm available to collect, or getting and playing something on the screen.
    2. Suggestion Video cost by time:
This would be harder to implement, but allow the cinema roles to charge per second of video on suggested videos (how Twitch streamers do). This would allow cinema people to actually earn some money and be worth playing. There would obviously have to be a maximum per second of video, but it'd also help prevent people from just wanting a 10 hour video played as well.

  9. Let me also bring up, and I'm pretty sure the quote was almost exactly like this just before he got banned:

"Fuck this server. If I get banned, I'm not coming back"

You can take this with any amount of grains of salt that you want. I don't have a clip or anything, but multiple staff members were there when he typed that in chat.

  10. DescriptionMake hobos able to eat, pick up, and throw their poop at people

Reasoning: More stuff for hobos to do! New, silly stuff! You can utilize pre-existing bug-bait from HL2 with a different material. So, add the ability to hobos to eat poop, and if they eat enough poop, it grants hobos the bug-bait poop throwing weapon.

Additional Information: Thanks for the help, @Merk!

I've interacted with you a little in the game, and while at times it can be a bit annoying to talk to you since you often times play without sound, overall I think you're a solid dude. I'll run down what I think of this app.

    Pros:

    -Age

    -Playtime

    -No warns/minimal bans

-Paragraphs are short but say all they need to

    Cons:

-Did not thorougly read the staff rules

As many have pointed out, staff rules were not something you keenly took a look at. You might want to take a look and update that soon. Neutral for now but rectify this and you could get my vote, because everything else in your app IMO is solid.

I'm a bit confused at this point, I keep seeing staff rules being mentioned, but I'm not sure what I'm missing. I read the rules before I posted, and 3-4 times since I posted. I keep going over them, but I might just be overthinking it? Is it just the title? I updated a few things, let me know if I missed anything else.

  12. Thanks for the feedback!

EDIT: Everything should be fixed, other than not seeing me.

Hey dude, thanks for taking the time to apply for a moderator position here at Garnet Gaming, your application looks good although, I think you would probably be better off adding a little more body to that section where it asks for two paragraphs. Also, go back and re-read those staff rules one more time, just in case you might have missed something!

I re-read the rules, and added more body!

Do you have access to Discord and a microphone?: Yes

Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?: Yes

Referral(s): One did, but I don't remember who, and I also discussed applying with Merk and he said I could

Past experiences as staff: I've owned my own Gmod, TF2, TFC, and other servers in the past

Why should we choose you over other applicants?

As an applicant for the moderator position on your Garry's Mod DarkRP server, I bring a unique blend of experience and skills that make me an ideal candidate for the role. With a background in owning GMod servers, I possess an in-depth understanding of the intricacies of server management, player dynamics, and community building within the GMod community. This experience equips me with the knowledge and insight necessary to effectively moderate your server, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all players.

Additionally, my role as a Team Lead in my day job where I audit phone calls has honed my ability to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts diplomatically, and enforce rules fairly and consistently.         Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, Include details - Yeah, I was telling someone that owned a server how I was trying to use an anticheat on my server and live stress testing the anticheat to make sure it worked, and I was added to a global ban list without any way to appeal it. The guy no longer maintains/updates the list.

Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: Nope.

How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: As much as possible

If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod? Programming, webdesign, Dungeons and Dragons, listening to music, taking care of my family.
