choppy’s Official Resignation
As I’m extremely sad to post this resignation, I’m excited to announce that I will be stepping down as manager to make time for college. I will be traveling across the country to Chicago and will not have the time/focus that the staff team needs and deserves from a manager.
I joined this staff team in September 2020. Applying with over 1.5k hours on the 1000x server, I was and am a true garnet gamer. I joined the team to help with the servers, and stayed for the community.
I’ve always played games casually; I’ve never been apart of a online team, let alone a forum, before joining this team.
The staff team became my quarantine hobby as I was stuck at my computer all day. I’m proud to say I rose in the ranks very quickly and became manager before I knew it. I put lots of dedication and hard work into the team, and it payed off.
This would not be possible without the immense support from the GG community and the staff team. So thank you. Thank you for cracking me up, for humbling me, for listening, and being better friends than most of my IRL ones. I truly found a second home in this team.
Guiding the team as manager was a big step up, one I was ready for. And being manager was truly a life changing opportunity (dork alert). I’m going to take many lessons from this experience, lessons of leadership, of teamwork, of confidence, and the importance of hard work over everything.
I want to emphasize that I am NOT leaving, simply stepping down. I will still be around to chat, catch up, and most importantly, help out the team. I’ve set up @Lebron to take my position, as he’s earned it and is ready. I’m proud to say that this transition will be the smoothest one in the Rust staff teams history, I’ve learned from previous executives mistakes and want to do what’s best for the team. I’m very excited to see how Lebron will do.

Quick Shoutouts:
Chewy.
My earliest memory on the servers is getting into a heated argument with then-moderator Chewy in global chat. Although no serious chat offenses were said, Chewy did mute me for toxicity. Later on, I teamed with Chewy, where we became good friends, and he inspired me to apply. Those 1000x wipes were my peak enjoyment of playing Rust. Chewy will always be that great fucking guy I used to play with, and an GG OG. Love you chew chew.
Sage.
Me and Sage were tag-team running the staff team at our primes. I remember I met Sage on the 1000x where we tracked down an extremely racist and bigoted group that built an enormous base every wipe, practically impossible to raid. We found them while flying around in a mini. We raided them to oblivion. As the group started screaming in voice chat, me and Sage laughed our fucking asses off. The rest is history. Hands down the coolest dude I’ve met online.
Hazard.
When I first got manager I was swamped with work, not only to assume my new responsibilities, but to keep up my normal activity of banning, spectating, etc. Hazard stepped up and helped me immensely. Hazard thank you, not only for helping me in the time of need, but for being a true friend throughout it all. You’re a crazy son of a bitch, but you’re a real one through and through. Thanks for always cracking me up man, hope to stay in touch.
Lebron.
I’m so happy Lebron came around and stepped up. I can’t be more satisfied with leaving the team in his hands. Lerbon has been my go-to guy for an opinion, to fuck around with, or to shit talk with. Thanks for all the dedication you’ve put into this, you earned this promotion man. I know we will continue to talk for years to come.
And shoutout to this amazing community, wish you all the best.

However, I hopped in a call with BrokeCollegeKid, and I had him search through his gmail and history. On the 11th he was searching on Reddit for Rust cheats and showed that he had looked into it.
The hours, the reports, and the recent cheat research is enough for me to believe he is cheating.
