  1. @Ziggy (doin this because no one else has)

I personally feel like this ban wasn't entirely proportional to the wrong he committed way back whenever it was (i'm not good with dates). Not to mention the extended history Conway has in regards to community contributions for MRP and SWRP, and how he could influence the current state of the communities would prove beneficial. I admit though, I don't know the story behind why he was banned but I 100% vouch for his potential future contributions. +1 o7 brother.

  2. Was excellent to play with on SWRP during events from what I remember around when he was active, and if memory serves correctly, his events were well coordinated, had good flexibility and were just generally engaging. +1 to the scale skinned basement dweller ?!?!?!

Typing out a full detailed and thought-out response for every nerf suggestion takes a lot of time, and considering how wildly unpopular these are, it just seems gratuitous frankly

You are right, I did not expect you to write out regurgitated points, that was my fault for not investigating. However there is still merit in exploring previously explored suggestions, probably not in this case though, as I didn't realize how often it had been suggested.

    - If we want to be accurate to CS, it's the AW50 we want to look at (which exists seperatly in DarkRP) so the D'Lore is the wrong weapon
    - It doesn't change the balance, even the cheapest pistol in the game can defend your base perfectly fine
    - The D'Lore is still available to non-donors, via the credits menu or by trading in-game
    - There are other similar stat weapons which are ignored, the D'Lore is targeted
    - There's nothing actually wrong with it (in terms of exploits or other issues, such as with the machete)
    - Nerfing the D'Lore only serves to irritate those who've paid good money for a unique weapon, without making any difference to anything else

The suggestion for the CS changes to be implemented to GMOD was stupid. Raiding pvp is less about the weapon balance (excluding raiding tools) and more about base design skill, so its not really a good test for deciding whether or not is effective. Also i forgot that the in game store was a thing, that definitely does aid lower level players. I didnt really consider the situations that the dlore would be used in, but looking on it now the dlore is fine as it is. Previously i thought that it'd be a benefit more than the the harm caused by nerfing dono's, but realizing that the situations in which the Dlore is used are limited, it isnt worth it.

All in all, it is clear to me after reading your points that the Dlore is probably not the thing that should be adjusted for balance (im switching to -1)

What I'm saying here is that the only argument to nerf the D'Lore is in terms of balancing the game, which it wont given my example.

For all people still scrolling through this, if you take anything away from this suggestion, this'd be it.

Here’s one for you. Nerfing the ammo doesnt do anything to people with at least decent aim. It just pisses off the people that use 5 mags just to kill one person

But there would still be an effect that would benefit the newer players no? The purpose of my +1 is to bring up the fact that lower level players are kind of helpless if they do not have the means to counteract the extensive loadout and mobile armoury that higher level players mostly have. This means that if we nerf a gun mostly higher levelled players have, they will have more of a chance. If a player is actually good at the game then that is of no fault of balancing.  I understand what you mean though, it would be a quite annoying and redundant nerf for players who are naturally less skilled but i guess its an incentive to get good.

  5. So what exactly are the arguments against this aside from "I want my 10 shot, almost guaranteed death, boomstick", "CSGO =/ GMOD", and "Another nerf Dlore post"?

AW50 could potentially be a matchup alternative for non-dono's, but I've never used it, and donators also have a plethora of alternatives. The active donators also happen to comprise the DarkRP 1%, in other words they have the most cash out of all players, meaning that they can exchange it In game for credits, unbox whatever powerful weapon (DB, RPG, Dlore, etc), and buy whatever guns they want from dealers (if they are that desperate). However, lower levelled players just starting out or even mid level players do not usually have access to these weapons unless they spend the money to buy them (which is unreasonable to expect), meaning they have less of a chance to win, or farm printers, or raid, or mug. For whoever cant piece it together, high level players have an overwhelming advantage over pretty much everyone else, and removing 5 bullets from the clip of an almost guaranteed 1 shot machine isn't much in comparison. As for high level combat between players with full perks and loadout of weapons, the dlore does play a pretty big role, but then again, you just have to hit your shots, or switch to the DB, or Stryker, or FG, or anything else.

+1, I am willing to change my mind if anyone can actually make an argument against it however, as I have been inactive in recent time and im not sure of most things I knew of back then.

And also, maybe the reason it gets suggested regularly is because people think there IS an issue, and by dismissing it as "another nerf dlore post" there is no hope for any actual discussion.
EDIT: Dear lord there are so many denials of a Dlore nerf, i was not aware.

  6. If were talking about roleplay experiences, I believe we should just fix the slingshot exploit. No one in a realistic scenario would be flying across a city at fighter jet speeds anyway. But if that is not an option, I say that giving CPs a way to catch them (Climb swep or other) would be the next step.

Also it would put donators (most people who use the swep) on a more level playing field when it comes to CP vs Donator. Being a donator in my eyes should not be pay to win.

  7. Even having a toxic player as the "#1 DRP Garnet Player" on the leaderboard would still promote other players to pass them because they're annoying. Also I do not think that adding a leaderboard to DRP (which has an inherently toxic community) would change it by a noticeable amount toxicity wise. All in all, leaderboard is cool, it will give players motivation to do the 'small stuff' aside from prestige and mindlessly sitting in their bases. +1

when someone reaches the top they'll have that big dick status which nobody likes. Server's good enough flexing your 100's of millions and your glitched items.

These are not immediate issues. When you go onto the internet you should expect people to be weird and flex fake money and fake guns that don't actually exist. Just ignore it, it does not have an impact on your gameplay if you don't feed into it.

  8. Several issues with this idea such as giving the clans too much attention and making the solo or small group players feel less inclined to grind when they will have to face these clans, clans may become too big and dominate the server, if the set up fee is 10 mil it will discourage newer players from making their own clans to counter the others and encourage them to join and strengthen already established clans. Now it would be cool to see clan competitions and GMs could set up games and arenas and dish out points to the clan with the best performance (or something along those lines). Clans the way they are now (just in the rp name) is better than good, because you can achieve all of what you're asking. If a clan really wanted to know who they have in their org, then they can just make a spreadsheet, or a GM who is in a clan can do these competitions you mentioned. All it really takes to accomplish what your suggesting is just to talk to the other clans and work out a competition (like most raids in an hour or something). -1

  9. I know I don't really have a say in this, but it is only warn worthy, and having him jailed was enough as a punishment. Also, while I don't know anything about CityRP, aren't destroyed vehicles respawned for free? (if that isn't the case, I can see an argument being made for compensations). I do not see the reason for further punishment, as he was already punished for breaking a rule. It is by no means ok to do that, but he was already punished for it.

It removes the point of a staff application and building up your reputation

There is still a purpose for staff apps, the vast majority of staff here have applied and 'building reputation' was probably never in Garnet's plan book when he thinks of the staff team. It is simply for handling the out of line players that break rules. As said previously, if a player cannot make a good 2 paragraph application then they will likely not succeed in being a staff at all. There is no real benefit for Garnet or the staff team for that matter. I do understand what you're saying, but other staff should not be upset when someone buys mod because it does not affect them at all, apart from their 'reputation' apparently.

I believe what sleep deprived @Nutter is trying to say is...

I have modified the code of the handcuffs to not run as many calculations every second (a great cause of lag for the server). This action may cause the handcuffs to work in unexpected and less than favorable ways - while, as stated previously, improving server performance.

When it comes to handcuffs however, do we really have use for a 'dragging' functionality? this action could easily be roleplayed via /me.

So handcuffs no longer drag players, I'm assuming if a player is uncooperative then a staff would have to intervene and bring them to the brig? Keep up the good work otherwise😎 Also, I will forever miss the times when players get slingshot up into the stratosphere during an execution while handcuffed.

    2) Add a Bail / Bond NPC outside of Brig

I feel like a Bail NPC would not be a good idea, as CG arrest people for some FailRP cases, some RDM cases, and if some random trooper comes up and bails them, they will just keep being weird. Alternatively, we can make a system (if there isn't already) where an NCO or Officer can request for a Military Trial for an imprisoned trooper and actually have a dispute about it. This way, CG will have an extra role as perhaps a judge (navy can also fill this role), have some added benefit of giving CG some RP during downtime as well as maintaining false arrests and allowing arrested troopers to speak for themselves. In other words no bail npc, add a Military Trial system where NCO+ can request a trial for imprisoned troops, then some officer/NCO of their regiment will go before a judge (CG or Navy) and judge will rule if their innocent or guilty.i'm not sure if this is already a thing because i haven't played in months.

A map rotation every 2 weeks.

I would be interested to see this, but I'm a bit worried about how much editing Garnet and other devs will have to do to the maps to implement this.

A little suggestion of my own, add a scoreboard somewhere on the map (hall of fame or something) that lists regiments by score that is given to the regiments by getting kills or manually awarded by Navy in the event of a specific regiment performing well. This would promote regiments to actually be effective and have incentive for regiments to structure themselves well. It could also double as a way to track individual player's contribution if it were to be fleshed out to that point (I'm thinking of COs of elite squads looking at the scoreboard for their enlisted's performance before promoting them). However, since I know nothing of Lua or anything else, I cannot say for certain it would be easy to implement. But just the idea of having a board for ranking regiments based on things like number of troops, kills, deaths, friendly kills, etc sounds cool.

  13. The only problems I could see coming up would be the usage of a female model, and the size of the file. And I also think that the first model is a bit low quality, we could try to find a better one or make our own, and the second model is imperial and wouldn't make sense (and is also 200MB). Personally, I don't really care if its added or not, but realistically there would be very few people who use the model.
