  2. I don’t think it’s about the amount of people it would take to ban a word/slur, but the ratio of people who are/aren’t offended by it. If the majority of people are upset by something, that’s probably something we should respect. However, if a few people here and there are going to be upset by a joke that the many people are going to think is funny, I don’t think that’s an issue, nor do I think it’s going to damage the server’s reputation. While the nature of a slur is to be offensive, the nature of a lot of things is to be offensive. Calling someone stupid is almost always used in an offensive way. I think instead of looking at whether or not something is a slur we should look at the effects of the word/phrase itself. I think we might just have to agree to disagree on this one though. I think we both understand each others thoughts on it but I don’t think you’re going to move me on this and I don’t think I’ll be able to move you, which is totally fine. I also wasn’t trying to get into a debate on slurs lol. I don’t realllyyy care whether or not we ban any of the words suggested in this topic but I wanted to voice my thoughts. It was an interesting convo though!

I think that the position you are taking is absolutely valid, but I also want to push it a bit further; Hopefully I can get this right, you say that if someone uses a word that is offensive and someone reports this you will take action against it, but there has to be a "victim" or reporter for you to initiate any punishment, you also said that certain words are not allowed on the server because of the image that these portray.

The use of any racial slur is completely unnecessary especially if you want to create the most friendly space possible for new players to stay, even if most players are not actively reporting this everyone understands the implications of these words regardless of them not offended by these, besides, I cant think of any situation where using any racial slur is useful to communicate anything whatsoever (Aside from jokes). Im committed to the idea that these words are just hateful from the purpose of them and because they dont bring any value or benefit to the community, they shouldnt have a place in our community.

I wasn't trying to say that if someone is offended by a word it should be banned. What I was saying was that if a word is widely considered offensive it should be banned. I agree that racial slurs aren't useful for anything besides jokes, but I think people should be allowed to make those jokes, as long as the slur in question isn't one that is widely considered incredibly offensive. The word cracker shouldn't hold the same amount of power as other racial slurs. The word cracker has been used to tease white people on twitter. Most other racial slurs have been used throughout history in an extremely disgusting way. Wanting to ban cracker jokes just feels so silly to me.

Did you read my edit? Doesnt rlly sound like it

I understand where you are coming from but that basically means that if our player base didnt care about the n word then we wouldnt punish it, regardless if its offensive and derogatory.

Yes exactly, but people do care.

I think some people are missing the point of the suggestion, regardless of the word "Cracker" being actually offensive or not what I think Twisty is suggesting is to be consistent in banning the use of ALL racial slurs, it's not about the offensiveness of these or the amount of people getting offended by these, it's about the principle of respect and intentions of use. I suppose this is to create a more amiable space in the server, which honestly I cant see any downsides to this, especially after garnet changed some of the npc dialogues that included racial slurs for comical reasons in past updates.

If this is the intention then I support the suggestion +1

I think we are being consistent in banning people. If you say something that’s widely considered offensive, there should be consequences. Like I said in my earlier post on here, we don’t ban words based off of whether or not they’re “offensive by definition.” We ban them based on the whether people consider the word offensive. In that way we are being consistent.

  6. +1 this would be awesome. They could do a gang war kinda thing with the pd where when implemented they could KOS eachother on the street.

  7. About a year ago there were talks of adding a nerve gas that healed players instead of dealing damage. I remember talking to either Nutter or Proggy about the Healing Gas and having one of them confirm that it was gonna be added. They told me it was already in the game and functional but the only issue was that they hadn't given it a visual gas effect yet, and because of this players didn't have access to it. If this is the case I think it'd be a really cool feature to revisit and implement into the game. If you were around when this was being talked about please reply to this, I can't be the only one who remembers this.

Nah dude. Chevy needs some retraining. I was brought to a roof was told he had no audio, I typed " Look at !party" I was returned and then you were banned.

Being over prestige 1 with a CC means that you must've played long enough to know the rules. The sit might've not been handled well and chevy might need some more training but the ban should stay.

  9. -1 the reason why slurs aren't allowed on the server isn't because they're "offensive by definition." They're not allowed on the server because they offend people and the server looks bad when we allow certain slurs to be used. The words that you're suggesting get banned are words that people typically aren't upset by and words that wouldn't make the server look bad. Maybe in a couple of years people will consider those words more offensive but as of right now I think they're fine. Following the status quo would please the majority of people so that's what we should do.

  10. Unless it’s like 15m and you lose it when you die then -1

you already get a multiplier for being on the server for a long time. How would this affect that?

sitting in your base farming printers and meth with this would be ridiculous. I feel like every level is so perfect. 1-50 is easy. 60-70 there’s a little speed bump. 71-80 is gonna take a while. 81-90 is where most people slow down really hard. And 91-100 is a fucking grind fest. I feel like changing that would make the game so much less rewarding and would make having prestige so meaningless.

    -1

  11. -1 no, this is going to break the economy. there are people on the server that have like 15 alts. thats 60 printers, which is 6m an hour + the main accounts printers. If you farm for 6 hours thats 36m, everybody with alts is gonna have hundreds of millions of dollars and everyone without alts is gonna fall so far behind. this would change the economy of the server so drastically, and i dont think itd be in a good way.

  12. +1 confirming referral, he knows the servers rules and older community very well. I'm sure with him coming back he'll be able to get to know the current playerbase and build a good reputation, both as a player and a staff member.
