  1. Neutral for the same reasons Chris mentions. This is in our D3A - * Racism/Homophobia/Sexism | (Up to 2 weeks depending on severity) (Can be extended by an admin+) If someone is spamming the mic saying KILL ALL THE *****rs then mods can ban them and put in the request for extension, but if someone says something like ayo ****a its apparent that one is more severe than the other. There have been cases of me verbally warning someone for that latter, and I still see them on the server without doing it again.
  2. -1 First, you didn't read the staff rules. Secondly it's kind of wild to put a single sentence as your justification where you say you're smart, but failed to see where it says "minimum 2 paragraphs". Overall poor application.
  3. Neutral Ngl it's funny seeing people say to allow it because people are already using it, after seeing @ChrisRidsaid is against the rules. Lets call it what it currently is, an Adv Dupe exploit which players are using. It reminds me of This famous report on proggy from someone who used Adv Dupe to spawn a prop with the rope tool, and that was just a hanging sign. Since the use of no-collide is now right in the open, there's no way it's going to be allowed to use by using the Adv Dupe tool since just like the rope, it's considered an exploit. The only way it could really be used is by allowing the no-collide tool, and enforcing what props can have no-collision. I see the benefit to allowing it, but I don't think it should be by using the Adv Dupe tool and getting the dupe off of someone in game or making it in single player.
  4. I think the people who use no collide assume its okay because I don't think it has ever been enforced honestly. Even for myself as well, I got the no collide dupe from someone and never really thought about it. I'm going to just make my one comment here about your 3 suggestions. 1. I don't really see removing the 4th keypad drastically helping if the base owners are already in their base. I suppose its something that could probably happen for balancing, but I'm fairly neutral to it. 2. Requiring bases to have enough space to have 3x players next to each other is going to be an issue. 3x people next to each other is about the size of a 1x2. Meaning even if you have 3-4 keypads that's going to be about a 1x6-1x8 long base. That can potentially remove a lot of base-able areas like the houses at the beach, or any hotel or apartment. New players already have trouble making bases 3. No collide should probably be enforced. At least for myself when I make bases, I generally only put a no-collide right at the door so no one can shoot inside from outside, and I can't kill anyone who is outside the base. If you want my 2 cents. I think for those who really know how to build strong bases, there is always going to be a disadvantage for anyone raiding even if your suggestions were put in. Keep in mind as well, that staff only enforce bases if they're reported. IMO, remove no collide. Remove any quick doors. Bases can only have 1x peek controlled by a button.
  5. -1 Failure to properly read the staff rules.
  6. -1 I can barely aim the Dlore as it is and you want to reduce the ammo? forget about it.
  7. God do I hate this suggestion. +1.
  8. -1 As bad as it can be to have the base owner randomly disconnect and all the valuables are exposed. I think this would be a nightmare to actually enforce properly, as you're asking to keep printers while building which is against the rules. I also feel like this is a bit of a non-issue to resolve and doesn't happen too often.
  9. Reasoning: A security guard is supposed to protect the base of the person who hired them, though unlike the mercenary doesn't use the /hire command. This provides a bit of an issue in my opinion where a security guard can theoretically go into any shop or base, kill someone and if reported say they were hired by the base owner. Currently the security guard is verbally hired and given some guns and cash, while a mercenary for example must be /hire'd to defend the contractor and their base. I propose that people need to /hire the security guard like the mercenary. A hit like the hitman or assassin cannot be verbally agreed and they must use /placehit, mercenaries must be /hire'd, and if security guards can kill people and are hired to do so, should also have the system in place where they are hired and is reflected in the job title such as: 1998 Toyota Corollas Security Guard. Additional Information: Along with this suggestion, I would suggest changing the /hire command to be able to input the $ that you can contract someone for. The default right now is $5000 and you cannot do /hire 50000 for example.
  10. Neutral I think the point shop is a reward for playtime on the server which generally players equip to show server activity. however I would say that having totems that can give players credits could be more beneficial.
  11. -1 I'm not sure if you have a good grasp of the rules as a player which will not translate well to being a moderator, based on our exchange in game today. I can't say I have any real interactions with you in game or have seen you very often.
  12. -1 Real easy way for people to just use the code with their alts.
  13. Enjoy the holidays Wes!
  14. -1 Shouldn't need an incentive to raid a base or the PD, the PD vault should be incentive enough for someone wanting to raid. Some people will raid PD for the vault, some do it just because, and I have seen others saying "remove taxes or get raided".
  15. -1 Scratch my neutral, hobos mugging means they should no longer be immune to mugs as well which changes how that class acts.
  16. +1 Has been consistently active on the server, and my experience with them has always been positive and very friendly to players.
  17. In-game name: 1998 Toyota CorollaAge: 30SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:0:53093120Warns: No warnsTimezone: MSTPlaytime?: 657:35:07Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: [YES/NO] Mic yes, I can DL TS. Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?:[YES/NO] YesReferral(s): Proggy didn't exactly refer me, but had said I should do it when I had mentioned I was thinking of applying. A few players have been suggesting I apply over the course of a few weeks or had thought I was staff.Past experiences as staff: I was a Lead Server Admin (equivalent to a GG Manager [Server & Forums]) for a Counter Strike Source server for 3 years, total admin time on the community for about 5 years. Handled bans, un-bans, admin training, forum management, etc. If by chance, you've seen me use my (counter) bind in game, I do have over 4000hrs in CS:S mostly just from being an admin. Why should we choose you over other applicants? I would like to say that firstly I know how difficult it can be to moderate and administrate a community, having done it for a number of years in CS:S. I have quite a lot of patience in cases that arise, and it's easy for myself to keep cool under circumstance. I find that I am able to understand the rules quite well, and follow them accordingly. I think overall, I've been quite engaged with people on the server and have had positive experiences with most. I have no active beef, or grievances with players and would (uncomfortably) say that I get along with everyone I play with. I certainly have some rust on me since departing CS:S in 2019, but GMOD (specifically GG) has sparked that interest back into me to dive back into moderation and to help the player base. Primarily I feel the most compelled to be part of a community by contributing more to a place I enjoy to play and to be able to help newer players. I was fairly new to DarkRP earlier this year and found the community helpful in letting me learn new things with GMOD and want to give back more to the community. I've been assisting newer players showing them building tips, how to use aspects of the prop menu, and also tips with the rules and jobs. Obviously, I don't need to be staff to continue doing this however being able to help players when they're getting frustrated with something (RDM, MPB, minge laws, etc.) is something I would like to be able to further assist with for the community. I would think that overall, players can get frustrated when they're tying to play the game in a fair way and others are preventing them from doing so. Keeping the game fair and fun for the server is important especially to keep new players sticking around in the server. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? No GG bans on any server. Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: No. How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: Around 3-4hrs / day on weekdays depending on my schedule. More on weekends. If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod? I'm a multi-media artist.Did you read the staff rules?: 1998 Toyota Corolla
  18. -1 Your playtime is good but I also do not recall interacting with you this year, which if you're just now coming back would make sense. Application is quite short, as for your reasoning why you should be accepted. I think as noted above you should spend more time being active and engaging with the community.
  19. There was no 1998 Toyota Corolla, it was doomed to fail tbh. All seriousness though, the driving was just terrible. I'd rather walk than drive a rubber banding car.
  20. NOICE If I could make a suggestion, the lockdown flashing on the top bar is now suuuuper dark, and makes it hard to tell if there is one.
  21. I main hobo and have 19m. There are far easier ways to make money than dumpster diving as a hobo (gun with donation, casino, largest cock on the server, etc.) where its not hard to make 1m+ in a short period of time.
