Ban reason: Hack Clients / Exploits

How long: 50 years

Proof: See https://garnetgaming.net/darkrp/bans/ (still rompin brotha)

What happened: I was dueling a guy and killed him 3 times, he accused me of hacking (i was not), and I was not given a chance to say so before being banned.

Why should ban be removed: Because there was no evidence of me hacking - i won those duels fair and square

Thanks for reaching out and submitting an appeal on a ban you feel was unjust. Here's the evidence that I acquired, to have made the decision:

Firstly, we have this video (Excuse the quality, I recorded on my phone since my recording software has been effy today):

And here's Sin's POV from when they died, for simplicity, showing that you were not in view of your duel mate:

I won the duels by running very quickly around that fence in the duel area - being fast gives you an advantage.

I also note that the image you uploaded is post-death for Sun. Once a player dies in a duel, both player models disappear and they are then able to respawn, which is why  I am not visible in that image.

Finally - it appears in the spectator mode you were in, that when you spawned into the duel area, you were facing away, and would not have seen if I had run around and shot him

In short, I ran around really fast and shot him. When a person dies in a duel both player models disappear, which is why I wasn’t there when you turned around. I’m happy for you or another staff member to test this, and I do not believe this presents adequate evidence to support a 50-year hacking ban, I was not hacking, I was just playing the game.

Additionally, having done a little bit of research in the forums -

I'd like to cite previous instances where unfortunate individuals have ended up in the same set of circumstances that I'm now in.

You'll see HomeofHatred made an appeal on a permaban for hacking around six months ago, wherein there was actual video evidence of his player moving in game, in a way that could have been construed as "suspicious", yet after an analysis by staff, this ban was not upheld. My case differs from this significantly, in that my player does not actually appear in either the screenshot or video shown, for the reasons I've outlined above. There is no video (or otherwise) evidence of any suspicious behaviour on my part.

In the hopes that the community has consistent moderation between gamemodes, I'd also like to cite an appeal from the TTT forum, wherein the now-retired head admin states that " [the player is] not required to prove yourself that you are not hacking, only we do." (see comment from Deft). This player's ban was ultimately upheld due to actual evidence of hacking, which was provided - again, significantly different to what has been presented here.

Further, I'd like to add another appeal, where it appears that the fact that the appellant had put time and effort into the server was persuasive evidence to other community members - I'm relatively new, but I've put a fair amount of hours into the server, I'm not sure why you think I would waste that in such a silly fashion (see MoldyHotPocket's comment)

Finally, and thanks for reading this - take a look at my record; I don't have a single warn against me (iirc), I may not be very well known but I can say with certainty that I haven't previously been known for breaking the rules.

Thanks.
