I don't normally go out of my way to comment on GM/Staff applications, but I figured I should voice my opinion here since I was the one to accept this post. Rage is one of those guys I always run into when I'm online, he's super active, always a positive interaction, and I do not recollect one instance of seeing any negative or problematic behaviors coming from him (aside from when you play mastiff, you freak).

The new portions of this update had to be delayed for a very lengthy project this morning through the afternoon. Due to the server picking up population again and there being somewhat constant events again, I got pretty bothered by GMs not being careful enough with their tools and causing server lag spikes/crashes. With the most recent crash being last night with 50 players on the server. It is understandable not being too well versed in Sandbox's default tools as a StarwarsRP player, so I figured i'd take an alternative approach to punishment, and simply bolster up our prop protection. so in true update formatting Prop Protection Created a light prop protection system that'll disallow players from spawning in props within one another Added system to prevent some fairly typical accidental crashes (will leave details out of this post for security) Disallowed GMs from physgunning LFS ships, simply spawn them into their appropriate position To do: disallow props from being moved into LFS vehicles To do: disable motion on spawning LFS vehicles Scoreboard Finally got around to updating the ancient GM tags To

Voice AMP I had noticed green artifacts across my screen on occasions (particularly during events) and realized this may just be the voice amp swep. Unfortunately I set the hat limit to 1 for a reason, but I do allow players to stack accessories. If there's a large demand, I would happily take a day to split up the point shop into another category (masks) in order to allow more stacking of items.

This is a pretty damn good idea, I can build off of this and propose this.. you utilize the command /mug while looking at a player, and it'll automatically print [Mug] Garnet is mugging ChrisRid for $83,100 (amount inserted automatically for a theoretical prestige 8, level 31) Chris will then be presented for a UI reading "drop the amount" or "refuse" Both options will print to chat, [Mug] ChrisRid has been mugged by Garnet for $83,100 OR [Mug] ChrisRid has refused to pay Garnet's desired mug amount, fight! This will obviously need to carry a cooldown of 5-10 minutes, and be allocated for players in spawn/AFK

After two days of the server being shut off and me contemplating if I even want to continue hosting it, here is what I came up with to hopefully bring the server back some life... The server will be put back online tomorrow at roughly 6PM EST or sooner - still nee to hash out the details with @Proggy Complete Playermodel Overhaul Over the past 2 days, I've primarily dug around for low poly playermodels for the servers in order to lower download times significantly, while also boosting performance. When it comes to download times on join, our collection was shrunken down from 12GB down to roughly 7.5GB, equating to a 37.5% downsize in server collection size, this will HOPEFULLY equate to nearly half the initial load times into the server. When it comes to performance, it is largely untested at this point in time, but I am expecting at the least, a 10% improvement in overall performance when around other players. When it comes to the models, I honestly thrift shopped around for CGI models from different authors, all of which used the same base model; leading to the same proportions, as well as tons of customizations. While i'd love to show off each and every individual model, here are some notable ones which can be HEAVILY customized Republic Navy Post Customization Armored Model Coruscant Guard 100 different options for customization per-model Post customization to the extent of a spaz who makes your FPS go from a stable 180 to a manically depressed 26 Event Maps The following maps have been added onto the server's collection in order to hopefully encourage GMs to host more unique events, and provide inspiration Destroyed City Geonosis V2 (With Venator) Denon Abafar Base *NOTE* this map is 1GB in size - will probably need to be set up as a HUB location Marsh Tatooine Dune Sea Arid Mesa [Night] Hoth This bitch is actually a prophunt man, but SWRP servers use it Sarlacc Christophsis Passive Event System postponed until 12/21/2022 (or slightly sooner) HUD Arrested HUD Updated to include a description that would otherwise be placed on a textscreen inconveniently Also, corrected the positioning of our DEFCON states Permanent Props While everybody's efforts were greatly appreciated, the last time to build up rp_anaxes 2.5 did a poor job of maintaining a conservative prop count, resulting in 10,000 props to accomplish what could be done in roughly 1,000 by a more experienced Garry's Mod builder. As such, the permanent props database was wiped due to ongoingly causing crashes and issues with addons (IE: the mail delivery system) Battalions The following battalions have been removed from our server due to redundancy, and playing a negative role with our smaller population (little players dispersed between many factions) 327th Star Corps has been removed from the server 21st Nova Crops has been removed from the server Clan Varada has been removed from the server (other VIP content will be introduced soon enough as a replacement) Requisition roles have been removed from the server Vehicle Requisitions Y-Wing The Y-Wing bombadier has been added onto a list of spawnable aircrafts UT-AT The UT-AT has been removed from the server due to redundancy and lack of use

Copied directly from our official SWRP Discord, Hello everybody, for the past 2 months the server has largely been declining in population/quality and we've been down to a population in the range of ~17-25 at peak. It is evident we suffer from multiple issues including an inactive GM team that is primarily led by a handful of people (despite having a GM team of 20+ users). Our server could be better developed, but the suggestions area is radio-silent. And lastly, our management team has gone from one inactive super administrator to another. At this point, I feel my year of dedication to the server has not paid off, and I'll be shutting down the server for the next few days in order to do a complete overhaul. The overhaul will include a combination of the following: 1. The removal of our 'Age Of The Republic' playermodel packs weighing in at 3-4GB, and replacing them with lighter weight CGI models as other servers gravitate towards, providing a large FPS boost to players, as well as 30-40% quicker connection times to the server 2. The removal of the following battalions (with the possibility of re-introduction in the future if our population expands) a. 21st Nova Corps - their role can be replaced via the engineer certification for the time being, no necessity for an entire battalion b. Clan Varada - There is absolutely no use in having a third party faction within the server when primarily battalions are unmanned. 3. The merging of the following battalions: a. 91st and 41st - Largely overlapping/similar roles. There is not much to differentiate the two until population builds up again b. 501st and 212th - Largely overlapping/similar roles. There is not much to differentiate the two until population builds up again If you would like to vote as to which battalion to keep in the merging, please feel free to respond to this poist with an explanation.

Presents Throughout the holidays, presents will spawn nearby to where players are active These presents are destructible and can be shot for a reward Rewards will primarily be in the form of candy, although there are different (albeit rare) rewards Snow Boss On randomly intervals (typically 45 minutes) a Snow Boss will spawn somewhere in the map This boss can be taken on by parties greater than 5, and upon defeat fireworks and candies will drop Mr Frosty He is the most useless thing since the male nipple This NPC will be hashed out and finished over the next few days in order to allow players to obtain the Santa Hat via a crapton of candy Other rewards, such as the limited time 2022 Christmas Vape are available (NON-PERMANENT VERSIONS) The Christmas Tree Once daily, players may use the Christmas tree in order to receive a reward for their activity Each tree only supplements 4 gifts, and there are 6 trees throughout the map currently Presents get replenished every 20 minutes for a total of 72 gift per hours - or 1,728 in a 24 hour period Presents underneath a tree will physically disappear when it is low in supply UI Update All outdated NPCs were brought up to the latest UI revision

I have very sad news. I finished making the prop resizer tool for tomorrow's update, and found the collision boxes to be sketchy at best. After doing some reading, I found out resized props within garry's mod (although mostly ok on a small scale, IE: few resized props) are incredibly unstable and can even lead to abuse as resized collisions are hardly supported. Directly from the creators of Garry's Mod: As well as from a reputable content creator: Due to these reasons, I think it'll be best we just leave this one out. It's unfortunate because I finished the tool and only after did I find out it'll be a bad implementation Oh well, probably saved us from future crashes and even more unraidable bases

Just to add onto previous comments, if there's evidently no point to prestiging, why make it easier in the first place, Makes something that's entirely pointless easier to attain?

Sometimes when I see suggestions like this, I feel like people just want things handed to them lel I still find it that people go apeshit for totems, and ask me to spawn them in ALL THE TIME. As a result I don't see a need to buff them any further.

I will take a look into creating a prop resizer that can double and half prop sizes. But no more and no less. It will inevitably have to be restricted to VIPs due to the high nature of abusability of such tools.

Holiday Map [Beginning 12/09/2022] Our server is making a return to Downtown Christmas! We had a great time here last year (with the exception of FPS) Christmas Tree [Beginning 12/13/2022] Collect 30 presents around the map and bring them to the Christmas tree for a daily reward until the end of the holiday season (January 1st) For all I care you can collect all 300 necessary presents in 1 day and simple place them over to the Christmas Tree once daily until the 1st. Some examples of the rewards that are to be obtained (starting from most to least common) x1 Snowman Head - limited time only (2022) x1 Santa Hat - limited time only (2022) x5000 Standard Points (non-transmittable due to people with alts) x1500 Premium Points ($1.5 is on the table daily) x100,000 DarkRP cash Snowman Boss [Beginning 12/15/2022] Fight him once hourly for a massive drop of presents For the sake of balancing and avoiding loot-hogging, a player can only pick up a present once every 5 seconds Snowman boss will one-shot a player hit by his projectiles Snowman boss has 15k HP (might be changed to 500x number of players online as we go) Mini Bosses [Beginning 12/15/2022] Similarly to the Snowman Boss, these NPCs will spawn throughout the map on intervals and drop few presents when defeated.

Dude has been home for 2 days now (sorry I skimped out on an update) and we waited on him to start eating/drinking and pooping like normal before feeling too safe. As of this morning (while he still has a cone of shame on his head) he's been feeling alot better, trying to climb up my shoulders anytime I go in the room he's confined to until his stitches come out
