Again, the issue inherently with a kidnapping role is the fact that nobody (including myself) would ever want to sit in somebody's base and be forced into AFKing for however long (presumably 10 minutes, since 3-5 isn't long enough to warrant getting paid ransom), if I joined a server that enforced this, myself and many others would much rather disconnect. Think your ideas through please and suggest an actual fun to play role for both sides.

Halloween is upon us, and so is my very first collection to offer our community Be online for tonights event, as the moment we crack 70 pop a free halloween crate token will be given out to all online members, the items you get from this crate will only be available throughout halloween, not to be returned to the server at any other time! The crafting of Halloween crates will be available in the next few days, and so will our long-awaited Anaxes V2 - planned for this Friday! Finally, I had spent the last few nights severely optimizing the server, specifically for the case of NPC-heavy events, and was able to provide an INSANE 50-60% increase in FPS for all players, if not more.   3. Hello Garnet Members, I would like to inform you that our server will be undergoing a maintenance, and as a result, access will be temporarily unavailable for approximately 1-2 hours. Details After pre-ordering the latest and fastest machine available on the market for GMod hosting purposes, we are ready to make a switch! This upgrade is intended to enhance our server's overall performance significantly without any drawbacks or extra changes. Base Status Notifications Chat Notifications will be sent through when base status changes Additionally, a sound alarm will play to grab the attention of players HUD LVS Elements displaying the condition of LVS aircrafts Additionally, when operating an aircraft, you will also have a new health bar visible Hackable Consoles Information in regards to hacking has been off-loaded onto the HUD, and will no longer draw around the entity Qualifications Engineering Repair droids will now spawn across the base of Anaxes, and on occasion.. will malfunction Similarly to the broken pipes found across base - these droids may be repaired by engineers for a bonus amount of galactic credits Squads 1st And 7th Squad now have access to qualification cosmetics (IE: Pilot, Engineer, Medic, and EOD) Piloting Flight Officers can now whitelist players for individual aircrafts (IE: LAAT, Y-Wing, V-Wing, etc..)   7. I would agree, but in the grand scheme of things, we have a literal 10 players interacting with this post. If it were the majority of our population (lets say even 40 players responding) i'd most definitely consider putting it on sooner.

I understand your perspective from a players point of view, with that being said, I’ve been here around long enough to know it’d be a temporary boost, and releasing it 2 weeks early would kill off the bigger excitement sorrounding new features that are coming up. Server population is a bit troubling, but it seems to mostly revolve around the fact that the only two executives who gave a crap for maintaining the server were Proggy and Cyber, proggy resigned, and Cyber is currently gone. Not even 2 weeks ago we were bouncing 80-120.
  9. Oh, yeah, there will be man. My plan for the last 4 years has been to gradually increase the amount of holiday content we have This year you should expect new (unique) hats, side-quests, and a boss to fight (similar to the Christmas event)

Let me utilize your own message to phrase respond, Not to be rude or anything, but who cares what sense it makes if I have 10 years of experience running this community and have played more than all players across the years. This thread is a thread full of upvotes from people bored and wanting a change, but every year in the past, we tried pushing for the event to last longer (because I myself even enjoy Halloween time) but it proved to be a disaster. There's nothing I would want more than to switch to the Halloween map early, I absolutely love it, and literally spent my own fucking time working on it lol. Despite what players say this year (and this is a recurring theme for every single year the server has been up up) we switch to an event map early (and specifically in the case of Halloween) players claim it is just too dark/unenjoyable, and we ultimately have players leaving in favor of waiting for the original map after 2 weeks... As was the case just last year. Financially speaking, Garnet has already been a disaster for the past few years, and everything players can donate for has already been purchased. It's not like this game brings in a surplus of new players month-to-month. But thank you for your 2 cents.

  12. Christmas and Halloween will always be eventful times of the year with a new map and fun quests. I'm not sure about it releasing on the 1st though

    What's really cool is this was planned, but I was hoping to get usertitles out at some point in time, so you actually got a title as well thrown in the mix (IE: Totem Collector for 100+ totems)

Server Optimizations Huge optimization patch pushed through Server's tickrate has been significantly raised for better movement and shot accuracy Voice communications may be slightly compromised, if it is, it will be fixed immediately after! Administration /freerpname - this command once again works, by resetting the previous nameholder's username to "GUEST" DJ Radio Yes, after years of anticipation of a return, this is finally (POTENTIALLY) happening. Don't get your hopes up too high, because anything can go wrong at this stage At this point in time, the radio can be used by the DJ class in order to play music through the Soundcloud APIs, which requires players to be utilizing the chromium 64x branch of Garry's mod (which they should already be doing for the cinema) Miscellaneous & Bugs Players can now physgun their own meth stoves, crack stoves, and weed pots for ease of placement Removed ... profanity ...... uh from the /warn command (leftover from 2016) Garbageman Pollution in Downtown is at an all-time-high, as a result, the Garbageman class has been added! While players are utilizing the garbageman job, litter will spawn across the map, allowing for Garbagemen to search around for it Trashbag entities can be purchased in order to store away all the trash You accomplish this by simply grav gunning your trashbag right over the trash Once your trash bag is full, simply bring it to a nearby dumpster (the same one Hobos are notorious for diving into) and receive your reward! PS. this is a fantastic way to gain alot of XP for new players! Optional Content Being that our server has always been known for having very little to no downloads (300MB) I have felt a bit uncomfortable with the recent inclusion of new content that resulted in longer download times, as a result, optional game content (IE: explosives and the casino) have been taken out of our content pack, and offered as an optional package to subscribe to once a player has connect to the server. Playing without this content will not interfere with gameplay, unless you explicitly visit the casino. When it comes to explosives, no new players should have hold of explosives as such they should not stumble across too many errors. UPDATE: here from yours truly, a moderator of our servers appreciation for my hard work!
  16. Ironically enough, I brought this idea up very recently in our MRP exec chat. It's more than likely not going to be happening, because we're working towards actual changes for the server, as opposed to just visual changes at the moment

HUD XP bar has been reimplemented into the HUD - and it is fully functioning Health values above 999 and 9,999 will now correctly scale to the UI Corrected issue of names not appearing when inspecting another user Corrected issue of numerical directions not appearing on the Compass Drop Pod Remastered and streamlined the tool GMs may now pick difficulty level for droids, allowing them to choose between the following: Each difficulty level corresponds to the amount of damage a droid will deal, starting at 5-7, all the way up to 75 per shot Additionally, the higher the damage is, the more accurate a droid's aim will be, from very sloppy and missing most of their shots taken, to pin-point accuracy Destroying a droppod will now feature a fiery effect followed by dust settling (instead of simply despawning) for immersion Resource Collection has been enabled for Drop Pods given that some conditions are met There is now a chance for a destroyed Drop Pod to leave behind loot which may be collected by players - this loot will be significantly buffed in the future for off-world applications with challenging drop pods and higher populations. Miscellaneous Y-Wing health has been set to 600, with a shield of 200 W-Wing health has been set to 500, with a shield of 200 Launcher weapons now do exponentially more damage to LVS aircrafts

In a direct effort to better our server's administration/management, it has been decided by myself and a few other trusted individuals that a slight restructure of our staff roster was necessary. As a result, a few trusted individuals had been nominated for a mid-month promotion. Harus Lead Administration This man is going to serve as our new Lead Administrator, the highest person in command within our Administration team. Harus has shown dedication to our community, he has been incredibly consistent with an uplifting attitude. He in my opinion is going to be the person that the majority of the playerbase can refer to when in need of a second opinion, mediation, or just general feedback. @Bobert3who had stepped down this past week also unsurprisingly had Harus as the designated person to take over his role, which just goes to show others have noticed Harus' dedication to our community. I hope to see your efforts now better translate to growth within the community New Trial Administrators - as appointed by Harus Quads Unceasing in his display of dedication towards the server, Quads' positive contributions are undeniable. He has been a staple of the GM team for some time now, displaying excellent leadership as a GM supervisor and now GM director. His interactions and genuine concern for the betterment of the community are clear in the actions he takes to improve the GM team and player experience. Splicer Splicer has contributed to the server's betterment in several ways through his history on the server. These include his previous contributions on the GM team, and revitalizing several areas of the server such as the Jedi Order. Going beyond the normal contributions of a staff member, he has provided valuable mediation, support, and insight for players, GMs, and the admin team alike. On the community level, he is a figure who many players trust and see as approachable. Fonza Fonza has a long history through much or the Garnet Gaming community. Upon returning to Star Wars RP in the capacity of a GM, he immediately began work on consistent and quality events. Additionally, his leadership in the GM team and respect on the server as a whole have led to his rise through the ranks, not to mention his prior staff experience. His articulation on a wide variety of topics and issues have benefited high level discussions, and would be well placed among the admin team. I have spoken with the three individuals about if they want to be on the admin team. They have all confirmed they it is something they want, and I am confident in their willingness to dedicate to the role.

Occupation Mode Capturing objectives like it's wartime except when it's not wartime is now back for our new map Caspian :^) Oops, gotta stretch out that UI Hit Markers Added onto the server with some extra networking. Only shots that actually hit and counted for damage will show a hitmarker on your screen! Spawn Protection This feature has been added back for war-time along with a short timer to prevent spawncamping! ARC CW Weapons Fixed some extra errors that'd pop up on occasions, some more security, and optimizations Radio Communications Navy SEALs radio channel has been added, replacing Delta Force
