  1. Although I am really going to miss gmod, I don't really have the time and effort anymore as I have made lots of commitments. I really did enjoy everything that happened while I was staff, I am going to be saying goodbye. I love you all.
  2. Pros: Nice guys, very good hours, experience, good commitment, good referrals, OG af Cons: Hacking bans Overall: +1 Notes: I will ignore the bans because the past is in the past. My question is why would you hack in DarkRP, like its the most uncompetitive game genre wtf
  3. That is a good point, the 1 pixel sized shooty holes are impossible to do anything about. I guess the EMP would disable buttons so the shoot holes wouldn't work? Or maybe keypad cracking should just be faster.
  4. Description: For some players, the text on the F1 rules page is all black, and almost impossible to see Intention: Help new players see the rules better Additional Information: Screenshot of what I am talking about: This doesn't happen to everyone and not me, but a newer player showed me this so thought I would mention it and maybe it will be fixed.
  5. Yeah, like I said, it would be very difficult to balance this. However, people do want to see DarkRP "reworked," so making suggestions (even bad ones) and having conversations is good for the server. I appreciate the feedback!
  6. Pros: Amazing referrals, good hours, solid paragraphs, good encounters in game, good current behavior Cons: Mass RDM ban Overall: +1 Notes: Nothing else to be said, I agree with all the other staff
  7. -1, everything that he said Just wait for the warns to go away and show maturity, then reapply and I will probably +1
  8. Description: Bounties to encourage players to raid bigger bases, as you can simply grab the money from the printers and destroy them and the raider doesn't get anything Intention: Give more rewards for successful raids, stop people from sitting in their base Additional Information: Don't really know how to balance and prevent abuse, but there should be a way to formally bet (maybe in a UI) to say something like "You can't raid me, but if you do, I will give you this amount of money." Another option is maybe after a certain amount of time, you start putting a certain amount of money "into" your base. The longer you are on, the more the money that is in this pool. If someone raids you, they get some/all of the money in this pool. Don't really know how any of this would be possible and how it would be balanced, but the suggestion as a whole is just possible ways to rework raiding, and how to make it more fun and engaging. A quick suggestion that wouldn't really have to be implemented which is a "Raid and Base Event." This would work by having an admin making two certain size hollow cube that two groups would take over. They would both make a base, and after a certain amount of time, they would take turns raiding each other. This may sound boring, but the game master could make certain restrictions and game conditions to spice it up, like "No buttons" or "Protect the President." Again, the other suggestions are too hard to implement, I feel like this event would be a lot of fun.
  9. Pros: Amazing referrals, hours, paragraphs, reputation, commitment, personality, and singing, as well as no punishments Cons: Absolutely none Overall: colossal +1 Notes: Man, if there was one person on the entire server (whos not already staff) for me to pick as a staff member, it would be this guy. He is friendly and funny, and he really encapsulates what DarkRP is supposed to be. His paragraphs go above and beyond, I have never seen him have a bad encounter, he has so much commitment to the server as he spends almost every waking moment on this server, and there is no doubt that he knows the rules. In fact, if he ever questions the rules at all, he comes and checks in with an staff member to make sure he is good. I am 100% positive that Adric would be a fantastic staff member.
  10. -1, You need more hours to apply
  11. +1 Don't know why this is not a thing.
  12. +1 I like the general idea, how are you supposed to know when staff are there? Instead of disabling it, there should be a way to just see if any staff are active. It is a good idea at its core
  13. Good idea, why not! +1 Addition suggestion though, if this is accepted, it would be nice to have a different category search for CSGO knives, as typing knife in the search bar doesn't show knives
  14. Pros: Good hours, friendly in-game, no punishment since 3 years ago, has experience, solid paragraphs Cons: Advertised previous app, paragraphs need a grammar check Overall: +1 Notes: Your paragraphs are very rough around the edges, so try running it through Grammarly or something. But please, I beg you, do not advertise your app again. I genuinely think you would be a good staff, so don't blow it.
  15. Not sure if you are trying to or not, but this seems like a sarcastic reply to somehow show that your paragraphs are "long enough." If that's not the case, then I am sorry. "Supposed to be" is a very key phrase here, as people have learned differently from different people. In my opinion, a paragraph is 6+ sentences, and consists of a point, evidence of the point, connecting the evidence to the point, and stating the point again along with a short connection back to the evidence. Some people aren't as picky with specific guidelines like those, so in general, 4-5 lines (in normal font) of strong ideas will be considered a good paragraph. Make sure not to repeat yourself too much. If you need help writing one, I can definitely help you out if PM me. I don't have anything against you whatsoever, and you seem like you could be a good staff member to work with.
  16. Thought I would share some tips on staff applications, as I see a lot of denied/weak applications that can easily be fixed. 1. DO NOT ADVERTISE APPLICATIONS!!! It seems so obvious, but I guess not for a lot of people. 2. Read ~5 accepted and ~5 denied applications. There really aren't that many ways for your application to get denied, so pay attention to the reasons for denies and how to make sure you don't do what they did. Also, pay attention to the way the accepted applicants wrote their application. Make sure your format looks similar. 3. Do not lie. At all. Trust me, if you are honest about a punishment, you are way better off than having someone find out. 4. Read the staff rules, server rules, forum rules, D3A guidelines, and any other misc. rules. If you don't know them at the time of applying, how do us staff know that you will ever know them? 5. Interact with the community positively before posting your application. Staff don't want to have a minge or rulebreaker on the team. If you broke rules, make sure that you have really understood what happened, and make amends if necessary. Nobody likes a toxic player. Most people play GMod to mess around, because at its core, it is a sandbox game, not a competitive FPS. 6. Write a good essay! Having good grammar is important, as you need to be professional. Explain what your strongest points/qualities are, show evidence of your points, connect your points to how you would be a strong staff member, and write a satisfying conclusion that wraps everything up. If you need help writing your paragraphs, ask for help! (Note: careful about asking, though, as it could seem like you are advertising) 7. This is more of a general idea to keep in mind than a tip, but understand what you are doing by applying for staff. You should understand that if/when you are a staff member, you will be keeping the peace and encouraging fun. You should not treat it like a job nor be indifferent about it. In the end, you should enjoy it! 8. Get referrals! If you have followed the above tips, most staff will not have any problem giving a referral. One referral can really help an application, as most staff think alike and will more often than not go along with what other people say. 9. BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR WHILE YOUR STAFF APPLICATION IS UP!!!!! TL;DR Don't advertise, learn from other apps, be honest, read all rules, get a good reputation, put time into your essay, have fun with staffing, and get referrals If anyone has positive or negative feedback, please let me know, as I am planning on sending this post to inspiring staff members. I know there are a lot of application guides, but I wanted to give my personal experience on what I did while I made my app.
  17. Pros: VERY strong referrals, supposed experience, no punishments Cons: Very poor paragraphs, denied app from 3 days ago Overall: +0 Notes: Your referrals are rock solid, and having no troubles with staff is very good, but I can tell you put 0 time and effort into the paragraphs. Suggestions: Put WAY more time into your paragraphs, and I will +1! Edit: Ignoring ooc for now
  18. Pros: Experience in staffing, solid paragraphs, friendly Cons: Neutral staff reputation Overall: +0 Notes: For a inspiring staff player to be a good candidate, they need to work well with other staff. I can't +1 when I see only 1 staff member say something, and the main point on what they say is that you disconnected after selling your printer. In my opinion, I can really only rely on +1's from other staff. The majority of the +1's from non-staff have a denied staff application. Suggestions: I don't really have any, I just need more staff to say things and I will change my opinion. You seem nice, but a printer scam looks very bad.
  19. Pros: Older (hopefully more mature), referral from Rosie, no punishments, good message in paragraphs Cons: Supposedly low interactions Overall: +1 Notes: After you edited you paragraphs, and recent posts from other staff, I trust their and especially Rosie's opinion. Good luck on staff!
  20. Pros: Funny guy, good rep, good paragraphs, no punishments Cons: Underwhelming hours Overall: +1 Note: If/when you become staff, keep in mind that you do have to take sits seriously
  21. Pros: Referrals from trusted staff, good playtime, very friendly in game, good reputation Cons: MRDM ban Overall: +1 Note: you are missing a couple commas, but overall, good candidate. Good luck!
  22. I've been watching these, even before I saw this post. They were higher quality (editing) then I expected, and I really enjoyed watching them! Keep it up! I will give you feedback in the comments when I watch them (my Youtube account is "Gabe G").
  23. In-game name: Freakit FUBAR Age: 16 SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:1:157746676 Warns: Warned for diss in June Timezone: CST Playtime?: 118:02:50 Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: YES Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?: YES, GeForce Experience Referral(s): Rapts, Rambo Panda Past experiences as staff: T. Mod for Icefuse.net Why should we choose you over other applicants? I should be chosen over other applicants for 2 reasons. One of these reasons is a comprehensive understanding of the game's rules, mechanics, and etiquette. For starters, I have only one warn from a long time ago. You can ask a lot of staff who have taken sits with me; I can always back my stories up with video/log proof and a rule to connect the proof to the punishment. Not only that, but I also love to help new players, and try to show them what they did wrong, rather than just getting them warned and jailed and them having no idea what happened. I really enjoy helping, and with my addition to the staff, I believe I can really have an impact on players and server justly. The second reason why I should be chosen is my ability to work as a team. I am an Eagle Scout and a football player, and both of these hobbies/activities need focus, direction, and teamwork. I feel that if I was chosen as a staff, I would be able to give my focus, give or receive direction, and work with the staff and work together as a team to problem solve. In my opinion, and an opinion shared with many others, the best way to get things done is with a team that acts fluidly. In DarkRP, things can get chaotic (as I am sure you all know), and if there was ever a problem to arise, I would be able to work fluidly and efficiently to solve the problem as a team. I hope you take my experience with real life, understanding of the rules, ability to give time to the server, and love for the game make me the perfect candidate for a moderator on Garnet Gaming DarkRP. Thank you for reading my application! Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? No Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: None How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: 3 hours a day on Monday-Thursday, 5+ on Friday-Sunday If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod? I am a Varsity wrestler and a JV football player. I am an Eagle Scout and love to work at community gardens and at a local food bank. Did you read the staff rules?: Freakit FUBAR
