Currently, this is law one of being a mayor:
1. You may not perform illegal activities unless the laws specifically dictate so.
This is law four:
4. You may not create laws that clash with default laws.
These rules don't work together, because today I had a law that read this:
8. Mayor may have printers
This follows what Rule 1 says, that "You may not perform illegal activities unless the laws specifically dictate so." I made a law, saying that printers for myself only are legal. Now before this the law previously read:
8. PD can have printers
This clashed with some police officer laws, and i removed it and changed it to the one above. Easy fix, right? No.
A staff member comes in and destroys my printers, and i get told "law 8 is invalid"
So I made another law that read this:
7. Printers are legal
But! This clashes again with rule 4! I cannot create laws that clash with default laws! BUT as it turns out the default laws are what is illegal! So the thing we have to do is either:
Remove rule 1
or Remove rule 4
They contradict each other, and it confused me today. I lost 30k in cash on printers, but I can easily remake that cash. I just want these rules cleared up so that this problem does not happen again in the future.
Thank you for reading, please leave your reply with any concerns/additions/problems you want to make clearer about my suggestion.
