How do you plan on benefiting our server?: Ever since I've been successful in the server, I've always wanted to make new players feel comfortable playing and know they can be in my position one day. It does take time and effort but it's possible. And that isn't shown or brought up much to the newer players. They feel as if most higher up players don't care, which is very true. That leads to them not staying too long. The server hurts with keeping new players, especially for 2GA. I'm always on doing my best to help out the lower ranking guys all the way up to helping out the higher ranking guys. I care about the server and plan on continuing to do this for the server. When staff are AFK, I do my best to help out as much as I can with any situations, although I can only do so much. I'm always treating everyone with respect and always putting myself out there for anyone that needs help or has questions. I look for the players that ask questions and do the right thing because that shows they care. I do my best to keep the player count high by hosting tryouts, doing sims, and always training recruits when its needed. I plan on benefiting the server most by being a role model for others, especially the lower ranking and newer guys. When they see a player / staff that sets a good role. They push to be like that, and that's what the server needs more of. The problem with newer players is they'll encounter a not so nice situation with a higher ranking player (for example). And that will stick in their head making them not want to try, play the server, or take it seriously. That's why I do what I do, because people will see the way you carry yourself and eventually realize. I've always enjoyed leading and being apart of a family. When I'm committed to something, I put my all into it, that's just the type of person I am. I want to be able to continue to help the server by doing everything I'm still doing but also take it further by helping with the staff team.
I plan on benefiting the server most by showing more leadership to others in staff and officer situations. RU and US both lack leadership. 2GA is hurting most due to the fact not many players are being trained for 2GA. RU needs more active officers that are willing to host tryouts for 2GA to keep them playing with new classes, as well as getting more RFRs to train recruits. I recently put myself out there to 2GA to help train recruits due to the fact of me only seeing a couple of RFRs training. After a while those guys are going to get tired of constantly being the only ones to train and we’ll lose them too if it stays like that. It’s all one big chain reaction. I feel when players see good role models and leaders, they look up to that and want to be that. If players see higher up officers that are constantly messing around and taking nothing seriously. Then those new and current players will follow in those footsteps because they see the higher ups doing it. When enlisted see officers acting a certain way, majority of the time they act off of that, and if they see non stop messing around they’re going to always act that way and see nothing wrong with because the officers were acting that way. This leads on to professionalism. Many officers and staff lack professionalism. Yeah it’s Gmod and yeah we like to mess around. But you have to know the time and place for it. Most officers mess around during the important times such as training, tryouts, etc. That shows guys being trained that the server isn’t serious so they’re not going to take it serious. I think I can bring on a good lead role to the server as an officer and staff member.
Being a staff member is a thing not many people can do. It takes a lot of understanding. I’ve always been good with staff situations because I always make sure I understand both players perspectives before taking any action. It’s important to not immediately pick a side after hearing one story. Many guys hear the first guy speak and then the staff member will immediately attack the other saying “you shouldn’t have killed him” or “why did you do that”. That’s not right because they never heard the other guys story. It’s important to listen and always watch. Everyday I play I’m always analyzing and watching how people play, what the server lacks and can use help on because those are things not many people do. As a staff member it’s important to be fair and treat both players equally. And that’s something I bring to the server every time I’m on.
Of course the common reasons of becoming staff matter too like being on when staff are AFK as well as being able to eventually set jobs for players during try outs. What I want most as a staff member are for people to see I care and want the best for them on the server. So many people are afraid of players succeeding so they don’t take their spot in a faction or in ranks in general. That’s definitely the wrong way to look at everything. In the end of the day I’m always doing the best for the server, and continue to want the best for the server. Overall I think I'd be a good help to the team by noticing these key issues, continuing to lead, doing the right thing, and always helping others.
