  1. Lowkey the ban is Shankie-level, too much time for too little of a crime.
  2. Because a half hour or so before that I had to stop recording on my streamlabs so I can upload a clip for a separate incident, and forgot to resume recording. I've only realized I forgot to resume recording an hour after I banned him. 95% of the time since I've gotten my rank I've recorded it, save for the first eight hours of footage because my bitrate was too low so video quality was bad.
  3. Well I am new, I am going to make mistakes. Like I said this demotion was more about my playtime than it was my actual conduct post-retraining, hence the whole "vip mod is a scam" rant. I never made any serious mistakes, all that's been told to me is that I've made "minor mistakes" to which only two are described to me by proggy "to protect the reporters." I have over 30 hours of video of every single interaction I've had as staff. I am almost nudged to go through the footage to reveal the clear difference in what admins have gotten away with, what I've been doing as both a mod and as a player. There is a clear discrepancy here which comes secondary to bias against VIP moderators. This was the foundation of my irk. I'm not being treated like every other moderator but as "the vip mod." We should be focusing on this ban over the demotion, but not without understanding where I'm coming from.
  4. And yet my demotion was brought up by third parties. For people who are "valid" staff, it seems you too are forgetful over certain policies. Such as, for example, the rule that states you are not supposed to post in appeals unless involved in the situation at hand. Same thing goes to witness testimonies- you and the moderators have to provide solid evidence for ban. So far you've only been able to show us logs, which show that I was told to knock it off in @ chat only. Not in OOC (unless I just didn't see it because of ic chat swarm).
  5. I don't get where "you are harassing staff" is coming from. I was not targeting anyone. As you can read in the logs I was venting about the situation. Yes I was upset, yes I still am. Do refrain from questioning my intelligence. I have video of Proggy admitting that the training system is not efficient and was being reworked. I have asked throughout my meeting with him to cite examples of my administrative conduct that warrant concern, he was only able to cite the event that lead to my retraining (which is being mischaracterized as me using mod powers for an rp advantage when it was found to not be the case) and another event to which a player and I were joking around and no one else was affected. The second event is something that I've seen and have video proof of multiple administrators perform with zero repercussions. I'm honestly vexxed more about the fact that Proggy wants players to have positive, goofy interactions with the playerbase but then turns around and uses what I did as a reason to demote me. This feels more because of my playtime on the server than my competence after the re-training. Which, again, goes to show that if playtime is a concern we shouldn't be able to purchase VIP moderator so soon. Stop mischaracterizing my meetings with the execs. In your case, we had a talk because I had to clarify the sit policy. Which I have video proof of as well. I in fact had multiple self-initiated talks with multiple executives because I had to ask for clarification on what I can and can't do. Because, as Proggy even admitted to, the training is inefficient and I wasn't willing to make a serious error to lose my rank. Did I make a few errors when I just started? Yes, I did. That was why I had to undergo re-training with Cyber, which revealed that as my staff experience grew so did my knowledgebase. The problems that were complained about were from before my re-training. I have put in a lot of time into the server already, and it hasn't even been four days yet. While mods were not taking sits, I stepped up to the plate and took them. I've dealt with several situations where I was practically swarmed with reports despite multiple mods being on. I've done my job and I've been doing it well. So sue me if I am upset that I was practically set up for failure for being provided training under a system that is "being reworked." Sue me for making the same mistakes every new moderator has made, sue me for learning from them, and sue me for taking initiative by asking questions to the executives.
  6. Uh, I was playing the game as my appeal clearly explains. I was just multi-tasking in being salty as well. Not saying I should of changed my name or made the bind, but at the end of the day this ban is incorrect. I didn't see any requests for me to stop my OOC, nor did I see the request for me to stop chatting in @ (however brief it was). It is likely that I got my chatbox cluttered with ic chats. You are supposed to call me into a sit and make the warning official so the player knows without a doubt that they are being put breaks on. I only knew I was to stop the @s, which I did because I got reconnected... Ironically, part of the reason for my demotion was for (allegedly) doing what you just did to me.
  7. When I said "make me" and then got reconnected, which immediately followed my ban? I didn't even get to connect back to the server. That was for @ chat, not for the binds. I was not spamming @ chat and unironically stopped talking in it after saying "make me."
  8. . I don't know if I missed it with local in-character text cluttering my chat box (courtesy of the gang, gotta love 'em) but who asked me to stop and when? When was I typing into @ chat? And, again, the next step would be a sit, official warn, and/or a /mutetext. Not a NITRP ban.
  9. Yes, I was being a toxic little asshat in OOC due to my recent demotion. Thing is, I wasn't warned for it (I don't recall ever being told to stop either). Even if I was, that would warrant a /mutetext. Not a NITRP ban.
  10. No, we're not. We had to go through the same training trial moderators have to, and we are put up against the same standards everyone else on the team is. In all actuality, VIP Moderator is more thankless because we are viewed as lesser than those who applied. Not saying skepticism is inappropriate, but at least regular staff get to enjoy not having to deal with the whole "he's a VIP mod he must be bad" dialogue every time you do your job or when you're just playing on the server. Insert "check your privilege" joke here lol. I think you could be oversimplifying the process to become VIP moderator, because it is far from "just buy it." I didn't. My point is that sometimes we are giving conflicting information. It happens. That is not reflective on the VIP Moderator situation but is just a point with regards to how training is done. Could the system be improved? Absolutely, but that's worth a different suggestion thread. How can you label people as either without knowing who they are and what their intentions are? Hasty generalizations like these can be dangerous. You seem to be implying, inadvertently or purposefully, that VIP moderators do not care about the community. I mentioned my intents in buying moderator to prove that generalizing against VIP moderators is fallacious and makes your concern moot.
  11. I am not sure why I am mentioned here because I am certainly not the only VIP mod on the server. The training I had to go through took about three hours- which included a 50 question test, D3 orientation, UI orientation, tips and tricks, etc. These activities required active listening. I don't think trolls would want to put in that amount of time just so they can minge around as staff for a minute before getting demoted. Can it happen still? Sure, but that's why training is mandatory and that's why we have the ability to report staff should we find them being abusive. Plus, $50 is a bit of money to put into a server for a 10+ year old game. Not a lot of people would want to burn that kind of money just to troll for a minute. I'm going to go capitalist for this point- The problem with putting limitations for when we can buy VIP mod is that it will prevent "buying off impulse." People can buy VIP mod out of impulse and whether or not they turned out to be a decent moderator or a troll- the monetary gain will remain. I do, however, believe there should be a playtime requirement before we can purchase VIP moderator- maybe once we reach level 10 because that'll be just enough server experience to get a feel for the rules and what the community is like. I again make my point about the price of VIP moderator. The price is high enough to where people will hesitate before making the purchase if their only intent is to troll. As far as miscommunication is concerned, that is really more of a point in how new staff in general are trained vs there being VIP moderators. In my case, there were times (though very minor) that I was given conflicting points during my training vs what is actually practice. I had to approach our executives to clarify a few policies. That isn't a fault of there being VIP mod, no system of training staff is ever perfect. It's a tad bit concerning that you are painting VIP Moderators in a contrasted light than what you describe as "those of us who actually care." I put money into the server, and paid for my position, not because I am some richboy (I wish I was) but because I see value in these gaming communities especially during the COvid-19 pandemic. Since the pandemic has occurred, suicides have significantly increased. Gaming can be a barrier between someone choosing to distract themselves from the shadow the pandemic has cast vs ending their own life- which is why I took the initiative to assure that those who play on our server will never cross that line. How? By not only helping the server stay up through a donation, but assisting in keeping the server enjoyable to them by being a moderator. So yeah, I as well as my fellow VIP moderators actually do care. I, specifically, go further by caring about the players. I see them for the individuals they are beyond the screen. -1
  12. Thank you everyone for your feedback! I can see where you are coming from. You all are right, having us be able to handle our own sits could open the door to bias- I tried to avoid that issue by suggesting for us to only act on the urgent matters such as MRDM, propapam, etc. Edit: This policy was already in place, per executives. Snipped.
  13. I was told that I needed to be sure of what I was doing through the evidence provided at the time. I was never told to store evidence.
  14. Well if I were told to collect evidence for every. Single. Punishment. then I presume this wouldn't be an issue. No system of training new people is perfect. Given that this is only my second day being a moderator here I am going to make a mistake or two. If senior administration can take a look at the logs themselves, I'd appreciate that.
  15. Please do not make assumptions without knowing the person you're talking about. I took those screenshots to provide what information I can at the current time. Superior Servers is the only other server that I know of that utilizes a UI like what we have now. That should not imply that I know every single detail of the UI. I may have experience with it, but not to an high extent you are hyperbolizing to be.
