sudden pull out a gun and kill everyone.

    To this I'd suggest;
    1. A quick-draw rule in which you cannot pull out a weapon when in view and within (insert reasonable distance)
    2. A capped zone during Skirmish is KOS-able, and any unit firing onto the cap point subjects the people around them to be KOS as well. So if a AFG shoots at US on a cap while the AFG teammates don't have guns out, they would still all be KOS.
2.(a) This would also apply to AFG shooting US off of cap points. I.E if they were shooting at a US enroute to OBJ, all AFG around the person shooting would be KOS-able.

  2. +1, would give reason for recon squads as they can actually get intelligence on 'suspicious civilians' moving towards and objective. There should definitely be rules about basecamping during Skirmish though.
To decentivize basecamping, we could make it so that in order for objectives to be capped, you must stay on them. So if you are off of the objective, the % will constantly drop down.

small portion should go into a team vault or keep. This could be used for buying vehicles or buying back kidnapped soldiers.

Hear me out, how about something more like artillery strikes and air strikes that certain people could use. So the GA/Marshal would delegate as to who has permission to use each bank, preferably a whitelist and not steam:id tied as to avoid people using it while on a different life/character. These would only be usable during war/skirmish and would have a cooldown while costing huge amounts of money from the 'team fund'. Also maybe during war we could make it not usable on bases but during skirmish we could for some more chaos :).

Let me know of your thoughts.

whos cares about activity as of late.

Being able to understand the current standing of the server, getting used to written and unwritten rules that are in place at the time under the current management. Getting yourself established with the community again, and knowing generally what the community outlook is on staff interaction.

-1. Do well within your position. Your 2nd paragraph goes in depth about issues and things that you could solve with your current officer position and faction, so I would suggest doing that first to branch yourself back into the general scene of the server.

    SSO Commander and Assault

    SKS-D Replaced with CZ858

Will this apply to the [T2] and [T3] class as well?
Also side note the [T3] SSO Class is assigned a garnet_sks that doesn't exist. If it could be swapped to the garnet_simsks or the sksd should it get the CZ858 that would be neat :).

I worked for G4S, they're a security agency, just bought out by Allied Universal. Idk Allied's plans for them once the merge is complete but as far as I know, Allied doesn't have PMCs and none that G4S has either.

G4S aside, as me and Bishop are currently working on another group for the faction to be.

As a Head Admin how do you feel that a third faction would impact the server in the way that it has been laid out via the suggestion?

  6. The concept and overall idea of a third faction I like, however I don't think G4S is the route to go. Considering we will swap to Tali soon, G4S supporting a terror organization goes against any and all of documents they have signed, such as the UN GC and the ICoC (of which they are a founder signatory).

This entire concept still works were we to make it a pmc or an unnamed guerilla group/militarized group. The actual implications of a security company working with a terrorist organization and killing U.S troops would cause large problems for it's company.

Overall, I think the economy features would bring a new wave of RP, but should be noted that it is a separate than the DarkRP base money we currently have. When shrimps originally suggested it, it was to be a combined amount in a menu and not something that was able to be dumped/transferred with the DRP money players have. Putting this here for anyone that is confused on that part.

Another thing to note is though, that if the faction is just stacked with the best players, it will cause a similar flip-flop to when we have factions like Vega swap over to US for a war and just stomp.

+1 to the idea, but -1 to the current proposed faction.

major difference in US v. Tali equipment.

Tali is missing defibs on most medic classes and some of it's factions don't even have medic classes to compensate for this trade off.

Sure I can blow up a whole room, but should I die and U.S has medics, it means nothing.

Also if you are wondering why the back part of it doesn't have a hitbox, those are leaves. It's a ghillie suit, the US model has the exact same.
I'll send this over to special so he can put it into a workshop link or I'll have him just send @Ozzy the needed files.
    Things to note:
-Head is bigger than actual head to account for the fact that this ghillie has a huge head cover, and when you have a gun out it makes the actual head really hard to see, so this is to help with that.

Those mentioned on the ranks are religious ranks not military

We've changed them to fit a mix of  us army ranks (since there are not that many enlisted ranks IRL for them) and the actual afghan military ranks. Notably the WO and General ranks are abbreviations of their afghan military counterpart ranks now.

Also should be noted the general ranks we had before, i.e prophet, imam, etc were from years ago when Tali was first in use. Apologies for any inconvenience.

    re-working the entire fucking system.

It's not. The core fundamentals of the gamemode are still going to be present. This swap simply relates to a swap that can bring about ideological differences, religious inquiries, territorial disputes and other avenues of RP.

    31 minutes ago, Horseyy said:

wiped players progress from every regiment making more players leave than join.

Though I wasn't around then, I was informed that rank-transfers did indeed happen. Though people may have left because they were not in their original faction, has this not happened recently when we removed frogmen, seals, marines, marsoc?

    32 minutes ago, Horseyy said:

system you are proposing is quite literally what we have in place right now. The only difference is it isnt quite specified that SSO or GRU is more qualified than the other.

Yes it is. It's a system of factions that works and is quality over quantity. SSO & GRU are both tier 2 factions. Red Group and 055 are being suggested to both be tier 2 factions. Your entire argument here just has no basis.

    35 minutes ago, Horseyy said:

This is probably the least of our worries and not something that would be worth changing anything over.

The amount of 2GA I have asked what their rank means and they have no clue is astonishing man. All of the ranks in place in this suggestion, are there for formalities sake as it is the actual ranks used, except for the old General ranks from Tali. When it comes to identity, why not try diversifying your faction and building an identify for it through RP and activities instead of your MOS.

    37 minutes ago, Horseyy said:

removed leaders were being kicked out

Marines, removed, MARSOC, removed, Delta force, wiped like 5 times, GB wiped like twice. Does that mean the system we have right now is shit? No, we wipe and remove things to better the health of the server. In fact like I stated earlier, 4 factions is a good system that we are at right now, and if we apply that logic, we see why those were removed.

    39 minutes ago, Horseyy said:

minges wouldn't be the base factions most worried about issue

Almost like we can punish minges. A good way to deter them is to have good leaders. I know myself and a bunch of other people, specifically joined MRP to minge, and later didn't minge because of good leaders. When it comes to toxicity, and targeting people, well that is a playerbase issue. No matter how many years pass, people will still shit talk their opponents.

    43 minutes ago, Horseyy said:

There is absolutely not a doubt in my mind that Taliban will become a cesspool of negativity and toxicity because that is just what comes with a terrorist faction. Not to mention alot of shit on every map would have to be re-edited by garnet himself inorder to look less like a Russian FOB and more like a Taliban FOB. Honestly, stop trying to rework the entire fucking thing and focus on small things that gradually work towards a better server.

That is why we instill ideals and formality in leaders so that they put those qualities into their faction. The taliban as is IRL as well is in attempts to earn respect while following their religious ideals. Applying that into a roleplay scenario is way better than, I am a Russian superpower, looking to kill a United States superpower.

    44 minutes ago, Horseyy said:

If this suggestion were to be accepted we would end up in the same situation we were around 2-3 years ago having to cut down regiments and Re-work the entire system.

See here is the thing, we are at a point with 4 factions each side (minus airforce), that it is a stable-ish system. I say ish, because RU has been really inactive, and from both what I have seen and heard, it's usually only one faction at a time where RU is active, whereas US seems to always have a page or more.

To summarize, your entire arguments are "Oh no rank transfers" and "oh no toxicity, minges, allahu akbar boom". Funny coming form someone like you, who had been banned for toxicity and minging. Rank transfers can and will happen should this be accepted most likely. As for minges, you punish them, and deter them by having actual serious morals setup for each faction.

+1 to the suggestion. Not only brings something fresh, but brings something that is not a mirror match 24/7.

NOTE: I BELIEVE ONLY THE FOLLOWING ATTACHMENTS SHOULD BE ALLOWED. THE LIST IS AS FOLLOWS: GRIP, SAKER, EOTECH (CW), AIMPOINT, ACOG, HEAVY STOCK.

+1 to the addition of the HK. Initially I was against it cause of the incorrect add-on you attached being quite large, however with the fixed one linked and the stats you put (that being similar to the SOPMOD) and those attachments, I think it would be a good addition.

Only concern is that KK weapons usually have this thing where they render in all their attachments on the 3d world model of the gun too. Meaning if I equip a suppressor, everyone else sees I have a suppressor. This is cool and all but it can cause performance issues rendering in HD attachments onto the world model. Nothing huge but it should be noted.
Also he does say that they do render in the actual add-on description.

  12. Your In-Game Name: 104th PVT 5656 Stylo
    Age: 17
    SteamID: STEAM_0:1:32512533
    Warns: 0
    Timezone: EST
Playtime: N/A (though when I did play last year I remember it being near the hundreds)
Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: YES
    Current Ranks: 104th PVT
Position you are applying for: 104th CDR Wolffe
    Referrals: N/A
Past Experience: RC Foxtrot, RC Sev, Rancor CDR Blitz, Alpha 78, and various positions on other servers including; DEVGRU CAPT, PDSS CAPT, V MajGen, MARSOC 2ndLt, SSO LT, IA Supervisor & FTO.
Forgot to mention these initially but; Master Archivist of the Jedi Order, Emperor's Shadow Guard, Grand Inquisitor, Chief Librarian of the Jedi Order, Emperor's Wrath. <- All of these ones are from JvS servers.

Why should we choose you over other applicants?:
During my time playing SWRP the previous year, though I did not directly lead a battalion I was in multiple leadership roles. Often I would be assigned to help certain battalions or groups of clones and lead them during an engagement. I also held multiple tryouts, trainings and RP activities while in my positions on the server. From those activities I have seen what the playerbase looks for in an tryout and what they enjoy for passive RP training/activities. This alongside with seeing what led other battalions to strive and others to fail, I have a high understanding of what results in a battalion succeeding.

Over the past year that the server has been closed I have also been expanding experiences on other servers and have had multiple positions that have given me more experience in leading and ideas for leading. Notably these have been positions on serious rp servers that hold very high standard of what is to be expected. I plan on adapting that model to fit to this community and to fit the 104th to be a more specialized attack battalion. This alongside my other experiences in leading, and the model of the 104th, (i.e the wolfpack, and lore implications of the battalion), will be what drive my ideas in shaping the battalion.

Have you ever been banned or punished on any server?:
Yes. I cheated on the MRP server and was later un-banned in the same year for my co-operation in assisting staff on building cases on other cheaters. Additionally during this time I played on the SWRP server to prove how I had grown. I had amassed enough trust by higher ups and with the community to look past my previous actions.

How would you use the role you are applying for?:
104th previously has just been viewed as a faction of furries, flamethrower users and engineers. I would move the faction to be more focused around RP engagements during events and having the faction focus more towards a specialization in crisis negotiation, rescue, and operational security. However their main focus will still be as an attack battalion, I will be looking to ensure the battalion operates in a cooperative manner and conducts as a group to complete the task at hand. Additionally I would look into reworking the classes the faction has with Jake to fit these changes.

How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: About 4 days a week but that is always subject to change with work schedules and summer activities.

If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry’s Mod?:
Going up to the cottage, working, swimming and other things but nothing majorly time consuming.

Did you read the application rules?: 104th PVT Stylo

    familiar yet everchanging environment.

    damn like fortnite?

+1 maybe have the GM team do events that will lead towards the next map swap? Like US pushing back RU forces from Echo to Omega. Or we are on a map that doesn't have nukes placed around and we get info that (insert faction) has nukes so theres an event where that plays out and the winner decides which map to advance to. Idk just a thought.

both base will be given a sniper class

Could possibly delegate this to a Sub-batt for each entry so that they can have an MOS change. Would let them feel special even when the whitelist is full. Also would let you know if the class is just being handed out or too easy to get if you see like 20 people with the MOS. Just a thought to generate more RP with the additions.

+1 to all suggested edits, though the SVT-40 is kind of ugly for GRU to have. Perhaps the SKS-D where its a DMR and not a full-auto mess like it was for frogmen.

blooms came on for what 3 months, joined afsoc and basically led it for the most part, then cheats cause he's going away and essentially tarnishes it's entire reputation.

Krimzin was what, not even in a faction, cheated because others were cheating, and prior to that had years of doing good things on the server?

Their situations are not comparable. There also comes things of maturity, blooms being a grown man and knowing better, Krimzin essentially being peer pressured by those around him, etc. Honestly don't know what you're trying to say by quoting me.

  16. +1. This guy was caught up in the wrong group at the time and got sucked in to cheating with them. He's had genuine heart for the community and genuinely was someone who helped factions immensely when he cared.
