  1. I personally think snipers aren’t imbalanced, it’s the people that use these snipers to basecamp that is the issue. I believe we should avoid ALL weapon/class changes unless it is just extremely overpowered and game changing.

We should enforce rule changes first, and then go to class changes if the issue still arises. I will give this suggestion a -1, I just think it’s too early to change full classes and weapons.

  2. Literally sat in Badri TS and he gave good explanation on what the addition of this gun can do. With this, there will also be expected class changes that Bishop will propose after the gun gets added.

I say we let the man cook and see where he goes with this. +1.

I have seen a little bit of time on the US side, as for a rank i am currently DS CPL. I have spent most my time on Tali.

As long as you’ve seen some of the other side of the server, it’s good for me. You carry Taliban on late nights and get positive feedback from other staff members, no reason not to go from neutral to a +1! Wish you the best of luck Hog!

  4. Hog, I just want to ask, have you spent any time on the United States side of the server? If so, is there an estimated time you can give? I’d prefer that staff members applying have seen both sides of the server before applying.

However, it is quite impressive getting a referral from Smity. Your application looks great, you had great paragraphs, and wrote a full on 4 paragraph essay on how you would benefit the server!

He has proven to me that he has spent some time on the US side of the server, what was originally a neutral has turned into a +1!

  5. I have yet to comment on this, but Reynolds you have put up a valid argument on why the reserves system is flawed and I applaud you for that.

But reserves can incentivize going for officer in a faction and committing yourself to that faction for a while. If you want reserves, you go for it. However, I personally think the reserves system could possibly raise requirements to apply, maybe CPT+ because that’s higher officer ranks in my opinion. And people who accomplish that rank are more deserving of reserves and have higher chances of coming back to that faction.

At the same time, I will say that faction leaders can have some say in this, they can control what reserves get submitted and what can’t.

However, I will stay neutral to the fact because I think reserves are necessary, but to an extent. Thank you, Reynolds, for taking notice to this flawed system! This argument was very interesting to read.

  6. I understand base-camping is a major issue that has resided in the server, but like Reynolds said, people paid $25 for a sniper class.

However, I liked the possibly lowering the mag size for the snipers like how you stated in TS. I think that suggestion will get more support than trying to change 2 donator classes entirely.

This is sadly a -1 for me, I paid money to have a sniper class on both sides of the server, I expect me to still have that sniper.

(P.S. This was written on my phone, if it looks bad, that’s why)

Nerf garnet_sniper_sv98 mag size to 5.

Nerf garnet_sniper_sr338 mag size to 5.

Buff the garnet_sniper_m96 mag size to 10.

Just for clarification, this is what I would +1.

    - MRP Gamemaster (GarnetGaming.net).
How do you plan on benefiting our server? [minimum 2 paragraphs]

One of the plenty benefits that I tend to make on the server is asking questions. Questions is what further improves ideas within the server and helps develop changes into something that could be game-changing. Some may say my best quality is that I'm willing to ask questions, the reason I ask questions is because I want to understand the entirety of the situation/change that is being brought up. Not only does me asking questions help myself, but can also help other members that aren't willing to ask questions understand a topic better and more in depth. This helps more people get on the same page about certain topics and will hopefully make more people comfortable with displaying their concerns.

Not only do I plan on just asking questions, I plan on doing everything I can. This includes teleports for tryouts to make them easier on officers/enlisted, further roleplaying scenarios and experiences for members of the community, and continue to display my mind on changes that can be made. A good display of this is how active I am on the forums, I tend to check forums daily to look for suggestions being made, people applying for positions, and help with varied topics. I also want to improve the toxicity of the server, toxicity has become an everyday issue for MRP that needs fixing one member at a time. I see a lot of my fellow friends on the server discontinue their experiences within the server due to toxicity, if there was an issue I want to address first, it would be the toxicity dilemma.

Also, with me being prior gamemaster within the server, I fully understand each and every rule. I think with my past experience as staff, it has proven myself to the server that I am willing to take on every role that is given to me. Not only is this from staffing experience, but it is also the experience I have gained from the situations I've been in.

Have you ever been banned or punished on GG MRP? If so, Include details

Was rightfully banned by Yumz for Self Promotion. All context is given in the appeal down below.

Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: (Listed Below)

    Denied Staff Application | April 24th, 2022.

    Denied Staff Application | May 20th, 2022.

    Accepted Gamemaster Application | June 20th, 2022.

How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: I can easily contribute 2-4 hours a day in the server. Hours may vary during weekdays due to school, but that is really the only issue with playtime.

  8. Literally 0 issues with this. When I used to gamemaster, we used to do civilian roleplay all the time just to give enlisted something to do. Especially with the crafting system coming in, there is no better time to implement this than now. +1!

  9. As Joe said, that mild racism warn pops out quite a bit. But since I've met you, you have clearly become reformed. Can't wait for you to continue your time in the server and see you making the server a better place.

Wish the best of luck to you brother, +1.

  10. Sailor, the purpose of an application is to show reason why you should be given the opportunity at gamemaster. I know that the gamemaster application is a very difficult process, however this application gives you a bad image with how lackluster it is. I think if you maintain good activity and good behavior within the server and improve the application you'd be perfect for gamemaster.

But for now, it is a -1. No hard feelings bro, still think you're a cool dude!

've always stood by the belief that if you can damage your HP, self damage doesn't need to be a rule for anyone. NG, or RPG. So I suppose it could be changed. Changed so US can do it too.

Or, you could just change it to where Taliban can't self damage. I see where you're coming from, but Taliban abusing self damage is the problem, not the issue with US being prohibited from it. Even though it is still extremely unfair for US to be prohibited from it, it's not the main reason that a change is needed.

  12. We need to also bring back the self damage rule for Taliban side. The removal of the self damage rule for Taliban is not only unfair for the United States side but also largely abused by the Taliban side. Lots of US have already complained about this rule and have been met with "cope", "mald", and "all US do is complain" by Taliban members. This is even being said by certain staff members on the Taliban side!

With explosives, balance is needed. Even with these class changes, not only is United States still at a disadvantage cause of self damage, but also Taliban will continue to abuse it. We argue about base camping ruining the server but then disregard issues like this.

  13. After some reading and brain storming ideas, here is my take on each resolution that is presented in the ORIGINIAL post.

Any resolution that was possibly made, I can assess later and express my thoughts, but here is what I personally think.

    23 hours ago, Papamid said:

    1. Start warning players based on base camping. Members of the staff team will come to an agreement on what is considered base camping and will mark off areas as “if a player goes past here then they are base camping”. And it will be the sole responsibility of that staff member to get a clip of it before they can warn, if they do not get a clip and they warn that player can contest it and that warn will be voided. After so many amount of warns then they player may receive a small ban.

This is a touchy subject, especially with the fact that some type of enforcement can be brought to the table. I think that it would be very difficult to decipher what the base camping rule would be. Are we keeping it as a "if they're in render then it qualifies as base camping" or "are they in the general vicinity" type ordeal. Because both of these put together rules can be easily overlooked and people can "exploit" the rule that will be set in place by easily just going out of render distance/the vicinity that is set. If you want to leave it up to the staff member to make that decision, I think that would be best overall for the sit.

    2. Remove powerful telescopes from snipers. I believe that with sniper scopes no more powerful than the ACOG we may see less base camping. While this may not entirely stop it from happening this will appease both sides as it makes camping harder with snipers as the scopes will make it harder to hit longer distant shots while also allowing those without snipers to be able to close the gap. This may require some play testing to see if this can be a viable option.

I don't believe that this should be an option, there is still much sniping that can take place while on any of the three objectives. I think that this map is way to big to become a CQC map and don't see the reasoning behind removing all powerful scopes just due to a bunch of "bad apples". Not only that sniping should be dominant on this map, but also people can still make due with the ACOG or iron sight. Literally all it takes is your "zoom" key and any type of scope, and it basically acts as the NXS. Removing all of them would be impractical.

    3. Instant kill zones. As the name implies, this would be a zone that is coded in where at the start of every war a line is drawn out and if an enemy gets to close to the opposing sides base and crosses the line they could either die or just be respawned. This, like the first option, would require members of the staff team to determine where that line should be and how it can be implemented.

I, personally, like this idea. Gives time for the enlisted to look around, get the feel for war, and gives more routes. However, this relates back to my first topic, what is stopping a base camper from just standing outside of the kill zone and waiting for the enlisted to come to them? Would the camper be able to shoot into these kill zones that prevent them from going into? Or would it just make it not permitted in that area. How far would these kill zones go? It's something that should be looked at by staff, and we let staff make the best choice there is. I think this could be a good idea if done correctly.

    23 hours ago, Papamid said:

    4. Do absolutely nothing. This would not be a preferred choice in my opinion as it makes old and new players not want to come back, and I believe that they serve is a lot more fun when more people are playing.

If there are no ideas that persist to staff, then this may have to be the option. However, I don't think nothing will be done if none of these ideas actually take action in the server. I think that maybe it will become more of a faction rule thing to not basecamp. Especially out of the decency of SOC members that are more skilled than the average base faction enlisted. I've seen this rule persist in staff and actually in rangers, rangers take this rule very serious and do actually tend to discipline a member that does basecamp. With this I see ALL of the staff actually playing OBJ, guarding it with sniping and CQC. So, it would be less of nothing, and more of factions pulling in the work.

    ------------------------------------

However, there is an idea I would like to add. On Omega, for Taliban, there spawn protection from their base was distanced further out. It would last longer for them and get them further in the map without being base camped. Ultimately, this idea actually kind of worked. It made Taliban harder to basecamp, and they would instantly start firing upon you or run to cover. I think that this is an idea that could possibly be easier to manage. The spawn protections wouldn't be too far out, but would get the average player more of an opportunity in war.

Also with this idea, I think that staff should get involved if the problem still becomes an issue. I think that a lot of the staff team can make the decisions on what is base camping and what isn't. They are given staff for a reason, and that is for them to decide issues that arise in day-to-day sits. I think a server rule should be implemented, just for the sake of new players just looking for a fun time.

And no, in these sits the staff member isn't "wall-sitting" and checking for base campers, but the person that is base camped provides a clip of them base camped and the staff member can assess it through there. This could create confusion, but at the same time, if the person feels wronged they can just go to forums and appeal it.

  14. At the end of the day, enlisted should be taught how to counter base camping methods. This includes going around through different OBJs, counter-sniping from base, taking vehicles, etc. As long as snipers exist, base camping will exist.

It's a faction issue, not a server issue. (Just my opinion)

  15. Description:

For a lot of the time on this server, I have been in a Military Police faction. I have even experienced the Military Police faction from both sides of the server, Afghanistan and United States. With this, I have ran into some extremely common issues with the rope restraints.

Issue #1: The jumping issue with people flying into the air still exists. There was a huge issue with this back when I was extremely active (Echo), and for this problem to still happen daily and exist is crazy to me. I have had countless arrests on the server, prime hours, with 11B minges jumping up in the air and flying to heaven just to come back down and die. This is basically a "get out of jail free" card that is played by most minges that do get arrested. I know you can report for FailRP, but I'd prefer to keep things inside of roleplay scenarios instead of ruining fun and experiences with staff sits.

Issue #2: This also is complimentary to the jumping issue. The gravity with these restraints is insane during arrests. Someone wanted would, for example, go into a high area inside the US base. From here, they would get arrested and when they would get brought down, they would instantly die upon impact. (Even with the fall not being that high). These areas such as but isn't specific to On top of a Debrief room, on top of a bunk, in a watch tower, etc. All these areas are quite accessible for anyone to get on top of and is a primary escape route for criminals.

Issue #3: The "Struggle" ability on the restraints. There has been an option added to the restraints known as "Struggle" (I'm pretty sure that's what it is called). This option gives prisoners the opportunity to break free from cuffs and either pull out a weapon and blast everyone inside the Military Police/Kidnapping Jails, or they work a way to escape by either waiting for an opportunity or just flat out doing the ammo crate exploit method to get through walls. Not only have I been RDM'd several times due to this option being available, but it also creates more drama and ruckus within any RP scenario.

For Issues 1 and 2, I don't know if there is a way to fix. You could possibly attempt to code in that they are immune to fall damage while in cuffs. This may force some people to glitch and jump up and down repeatedly, but then again I don't really know. There is truly a resolution to everything, and I think something could be coded to force this to work.

For Issue 3, I just recommend removing the Struggle option away from cuffs. We didn't have them on Echo, I don't know why or how they just appeared there. But I think a lot of Officers and Military Police would prefer if the option was either removed or disabled. And even if it was meant for scenarios, the people that arrested the person can always just release them and RP as if they had struggled free... It really isn't that difficult to solve.

The reasoning for this change is pretty flat out and simple, it removes the likelihood of people causing issues for Military Police or Officers. All MP and Officers are told not to abuse cuffs, so for every arrest, there is reasoning behind it. There should be no option for someone to be restrained and imprisoned and for them to still have a chance at escape. I'm willing to answer any questions in the thread about the suggestion that can be brought up, but I think this is a good fix overall!

  16. Also to compliment with this, it should also be able to give Officer whitelist for that faction.

But I do like this idea, why have someone grind out for COL and get no benefit for war? Definitely a +1 for me!

  17. Also would like to put these into here, just for future reference. (These acts were all done 14 hours after he posted this application.)

Explanation : Jolly was arrested for murder by me, his arrest was posted and he kept abusing the "struggle" function on cuffs. While he had gotten out of the cuffs, he decided it'd be a good idea to suicide roleplay while in the jail cells. As seen in the chat "[RP] 11B SDS Jolly hangs self with rope". After he types this in chat, he switches to US Army : Support.

    https://medal.tv/games/garrys-mod/clips/YdsfPKNwnE7Uy/d13379IEeXQM?invite=cr-MSxCYjAsNjUzMzEzOTQs

Jolly after this act was arrested, unlawfully, by 11A 2LT River (which I had thought AWZQ had arrested him at the time). River was trying to make things right but this was going against the NLR rule. When he was brought in, I decided to release him due to NLR. As I was explaining NLR to River and released Jolly, he goes and says this...

    https://medal.tv/games/garrys-mod/clips/Ydv5LUQbOzCx0/d1337yWrbO5d?invite=cr-MSwxTXAsNjUzMzEzOTQs

Neither of these incidents sit right with me, especially when this person is going for staff, I filed a report but no staff was on. But I'd rather put this in the staff application he has up just to show some of why Jolly doesn't deserve staff.

  18. I agree with a lot of these rule changes, these rules are extremely outdated and I think that they should have a "freshen up"

However, there are a few things I am "iffy" on to say the least,

    2 hours ago, Ziggy said:

Remove this because it really isn't a big deal and is another rule that is rarely enforced. Change the sniping rule to enforce that Afghan must be sniping from inside buildings during peacetime or just straight up remove it.

I don't think Taliban should have access to snipers during peacetime. The thing about the KOS is if you see it, you can enforce it. Most of 11B, and some SOC on US, can't identify a sniper from 50 feet away, especially with how dark the map is. And we have already suffered from a pretty bad base camping issue within war, what's going to stop Taliban from translating that into peacetime when everyone wants to do their tryouts?

    2 hours ago, Ziggy said:

I think we remove this for obvious reasons. Some of which include that many other playermodels' have grenades, smokes, and flags on them that would identify them as a part of a military. Just ignore the cosmetics instead, its really just that easy.

I also don't think cosmetics shouldn truly be ignored, if you're running RPG, something with rockets and a rocket launcher on the back of it, then you truly understand what you're getting yourself into. The RPG enforcement rule is a rare one but it does make common sense why someone with rockets and a rocket launcher would get enforced by US. The ROE used to enforce that if any grenades/guns were seen on a playermodel, they were KOS. However, it was very difficult to distinct what was grenades/guns and what was just ammo pouches, so it was removed. At least from what I've heard.

    2 hours ago, Ziggy said:

Dumb and hardly enforced. Players are smart enough to use their own discretion and if they don't, it really doesn't matter.

Used to be enforced, don't know what happened. And I think they should get staff permission due to the fact that when people do switch, there are too many switching at once. This sways war, so I think staff should still require to give permission for a swap. (PS. MRP gamers aren't that smart...)

    2 hours ago, Ziggy said:

I think we let anyone spawn cars. There are constant complaints of officers not getting cars out enough so we might as well just open them to everyone and make it something you grind for with in-game cash. Would also increase carjacking interactions if that is added.

Just no. Cars = lag, lag = everyone not being happy. Plus late night shenanigans would be off the chain with cars. VDM would become a major issue really quickly when "Tali RAC SSGT Shithead47" decides he wants to spawn a car and run over the entire US side inside their own base. It's not the hard to grind for ingame cash, a few words, a couple payrolls, and you're already at 50k. And carjacking isn't really an RP scenario I want to be apart of, may just be me though.

    2 hours ago, Ziggy said:

I think a lot of the time this doesn't really matter. The maximum raid time is 5 minutes anyways and if players can serve as artillery out of render, they're probably close enough to get to the base in a few steps regardless. Mfs be late sometimes and that's okay.

Be with the group that raids, usually they take cars, organize groups, etc. Being late isn't an excuse for an entire rule to be changed.

    2 hours ago, Ziggy said:

Think we just remove this and let the precap rule dictate this one. I think it would be fun if nation's started calling debriefs earlier because they want to sneak in a last minute raid to disrupt the opposing nation. If they call a late DB, they're at risk of getting it nuked.

Personally, on US, we already deal with DBs not being called on time. Usually they are extremely late, 3 minutes to war, and an OBJ never gets decided upon. Letting someone raid and destroy that entire debrief while already behind on schedule wouldn't make this any better. Keep the rule the same, it's perfectly fine as is.

    2 hours ago, Ziggy said:

Don't need this, especially for factions such as 055/Green Berets. Anyone passing PVTs into their T3 faction on the first tryout would be punished as it falls under the 'Bias' section above.

Less of skill matter, more of getting a feel for the server. I was told when ranking up early enlisted that it's more for the experience, not for the skill. And at the same time, PVTs are allowed to show up for trainings, etc. Just have them go to those and when they've shown some type of commitment to the server, they can finally tryout for a SOC they're interested in.

    2 hours ago, Ziggy said:

Don't see why this would be a problem if both faction leaders agree to it. Limit players to joining a maximum of two factions. Give faction leaders the option to decide this one for themselves.

I understand letting enlisted dual faction, but if you're already committed to be an O-1+ in that faction, you might as well just serve your time. O-1+ are meant to be loyal to their faction and are meant to help with whatever is needed. They can't really do that while in a completely other faction.

    2 hours ago, Ziggy said:

Give faction leaders free reign on this one. Anyone mass promoting or abusing this would be dealt with by management regardless.

Pretty simple rule to follow, no issues with it. Especially with friend factions being an issue of the past, I think this rule has done good to combat that. Are you just here to try to make a friend faction of your own? (joke ofc)

Those are probably all the rules I don't see needed or have questions about. If you want to give your honest feedback on why these rules should be changed, added, or removed, please either respond to it in this forum or personally DM me with all these reasons. I'm very fond on the fact that someone is taking notice on the server and wants to do good with it! Once again Bishop, you continue to impress me and the entire server with these changes you have been trying to make.

And as one MRP player, and pretty sure I speak for the whole community, thank you for taking notice in this server!

  19. -1, you remind me of me when I first joined the server. Giant minge and breaks the rules and gets away with it. But with this, I expect you to come out over top and improve your reputation on the server! I think, with a little bit of improvement on character and discipline, you would be a good fit in the staff team! Wish the best of luck to you Jolly!

(Also, for next time, if you need help on applications, message me or someone that is trusted. We're here to help!)

  20. CBRN is a great player within the community, I have talked with him on multiple occasions within TeamSpeak and he has shown nothing but respect to me and others. He is fairly new to the server, but I like the thought of him being apart of the staff team. I have seen nothing but greatness, dedication and maturity from CBRN and I hope that he can continue that whilst being on the staff team. All of GB thinks very highly of you CBRN, and I wish the best of luck with your application! +1!
