  1. -1 - As much as I would want this to happen, this wouldn’t help the server. I don’t like Theos, I’m sure that is well known, but there isn’t anyone to replace him and at the very least he is getting suggestions through and such to try and help the server. Also, there just isn’t enough evidence to justify his removal, at least presented in this post. (Time to go back into the shadows from which I came)

  2. The majority of players on the server play war independently as it is hard to get most new players to be in fireteams like you are describing. The only time that fireteams kind of work is in SOC factions in which they just use TeamSpeak to communicate to each other. There already several ways you can do this in the server, like described above, you can use /radio, you can join a squad by using /squad, go into TeamSpeak or a discord call and communicate from there, or just be in close proximity to each other so you can communicate through voice chat. So, since there are several ways you can kind of do this already and the fact that if this gets added, it might very well not be used, so I'm going to -1 for those reasons.

Has Theos given any reasoning on why these changes were made?

To my understanding, it was changed mainly due to players getting their reserves back from a long time ago (a year+) and possibly to combat faction hopping somewhat, but not sure about that.

  4. I am also going to add on here, no one was informed about this before it became official. This new reserves systems came out of the blue and no one was able to give feedback before hand or even told that it was going to be implemented. My biggest issue with this new system is the fact that you lose your reserves if you join another faction in that country. This is a real problem, once I resign from 313, I don't exactly know where I'm going to go, but I do know that if this is still here, I am very much less likely to go to any faction on Afghan because I don't want to lose my reserves in 313, a faction that I have put almost a year of time in. This really discourages soc officers switching to either a different soc faction or going to the base faction to help whatever faction needs help.

  5. Description: I’m suggesting to have either a SWEP be added to one or all of the whitelists or to have a “wardrobe” type prop that would only allow a certain whitelist to access it (a T1 whitelist or all of that faction's whitelists). Basically, this would allow members in either Delta Force or Badri 313 to be able to change their player model to a model of the opposite side. This would allow T1 SOC members to infiltrate the base posing as a member of that country’s military allowing them to get information easily. In order for a player model to be used, they would need to get it from a kidnapped person on the other side, which can be regulated with intelligence docs that will soon be implemented.

Now, to make this fair, the opposing country’s members can try to find the spy. If someone is suspicious of someone being a spy (Maybe only certain ranks can “be suspicious of someone” like an officer of a base faction or a higher enlisted+ of a SOC faction), they can ask to get an identification card. If that person is not a spy, the id card would be given and nothing would come of it. If that person is a spy (which would be seen OOC), then a versus roll would be done. If the person under disguise wins, then they are not suspicious for a certain amount of time and continue to do their intelligence gathering. If the spy loses, then they can decide what to do with them, either kidnap them or execute them.

Reasoning: Currently, there is a current shift in putting more emphasis on roleplay on the server lately, this addition would allow for more roleplay for Delta Force and Badri 313 to do more risky operations of intelligence gathering than other special forces factions wouldn’t do. This would also incentivize players to want to get into T1 factions because currently, there isn’t much that sets a T1 SOC faction apart from a T2/T3 SOC faction.

Rules that would help with exploiting of this (Any of these can be up for discussion. Just thought of them, so might as well just suggest it)

    • Disguising is only allowed during peacetime, as it would give an unfair advantage during war
    • If killed while under a guise, any information collected would not count (NLR)

    • Only one person of each faction would only be allowed to disguise themselves

    • In order to disguise as a certain player model, you must have gotten it through roleplay, mainly kidnaps or through roleplay raids. Would be regulated with staff given intelligence docs

    • If a person under guise wins the roll, a time limit of when they can be suspicious again would be added just so they aren’t getting caught through repetitive rolls

    • Can only disguise once per side per peacetime

Additional Information: Just an example of what the SWEP:

  6. We already had this, but was removed by Garnet for this reason:

Removed night and converted the system to simply be Day-Evening system

It looks like players enjoyed the variation in the atmosphere changing around, but a full-blown night did not look very convincing without proper map lighting changes which would've been horrible on the end-users in terms of FPS

  7. +1 - Thank you woods for doing this. The SIG 552 is just really unusable, especially compared to other faction weapons, the AEK, and even our other gun the HK MP5. I have an extremely hard time using the SIG in any situation, the only time I've been able to kill people with it is when they are up close, otherwise it is difficult to not only spray longer distances but to spray transfer from one person to another due to a multiplicative amount of issues. The main problem with the sig is the attachments, or should I say lack of attachments, but we agreed that this would be a better alternative. Not to mention that SSO originally had this weapon and if it was fine for them to have it, don't see why we can't. (Yes, this was approved by me)
