    Combat-SIM NPC

Description: The main idea I am suggesting is an npc that uses simular workings as the duel npc, restricting weapons to a kit. However, instead of fighting a player, you will fight a set number of enemy npc's. To balance this system, a limit of 5 matches should be set for a 24 hour period. These 5 Daily matches would increase considerably in difficulty with each additional match. While exploits in gaining money through npc's can be a danger to the economy of the server, I believe that if they are refined out, this Sim-like experience can add to every players enjoyment, and give them something to do in free time. Reasoning: I believe that this idea can improve the server by giving an additional option to players during peace time. The ways in which this would impact the server are: The ability to establish a process for income (Each npc or match gives money and/or exp.) An additional activity that can increase playtime, possibly decrease urge to kill during peace time, and provide combat simulation to new players.
  2. With regard to the rpg specifically, while a useful base-raiding tool, and somewhat overpowered compared to any other weapon, the rpg has its own pros and cons from other weapons. Let me be clear here, I am not stating if Metro was in the right or wrong; simply, what led to this situation. My main point here is to explain that the rpg can easily be used to claim accidental rdm. Therefore, you should ONLY shoot a rocket if the surrounding area is completely clear, even away from high-population areas. I personally feel that being able to wall bang with it is the most effective feature. But use of the tool comes with all the consequences of your misactions. As with any explosive, there is a large blast radius, if you are in that radius it is almost certain death. It is up to the person using the explosive to be certain that they will not take out un-intended targets. If they do, then each non-rp kill is counted toward Mass RDM. Additionally, some advise, HEX Metro, with you being staff, you should be much more cautious of the explosive weapons on the server. I'm not saying never use them, but try to be conservative with your use of radius-based weapons all-together. A feed is nice, but is it really worth the punishment?
  3. About 600 of them were. However, all after that have been from recent activity.
  4. I used to be the ALQ Gen before the map change. I am unsure how setting armor and giving them weapons isn't possible in either 1 or 3, But understandably, a small health regen script would have to be added in, yes. These are after all just possible events. I have many others. I updated the events to be a little more descriptive.
  5. In-game name: 2GA RFR POS MrGentlePickle | GRU SGT MrGentlePickle Age: 19 (August) SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:0:94819670 Warns: 0 within last year. Timezone: EST Playtime?: 697:04:10 Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: [YES/NO] YES Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?:[YES/NO] YES Referral(s): [What administrator recommended you to apply?] None, (I am previous GG staff) Past experiences as a Game Master: [Optional] None Why should we choose you over other applicants? [minimum 2 paragraphs] I believe that I would be a valuable part of the Game Master team because I have a creative personality. I am able to imagine and develop well connected plots for events. which can contribute to every players experience while playing. I have been a part of the community since 2017, due to this, I have developed a feeling for what the average player would like in regards to the types of gameplay. In addition, I believe that I am a better choice than any other applicant because I understand that players need a balance of event information and roleplay. Most importantly, I will be very open to any compliments or criticisms and use them to improve upon future events. I am the best person for this position because I have had a long-time passion for strategic games and history; This can be used to make scenarios that are require a set of real problem-solving skills, making you think about every event differently. The last reason I believe I should be chosen is because of my experience with the roleplay within the server ( Some of you may remember me as the ALQ Gen). Overall, I can bring variety, challenge, engagement, and excitement. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, Include details No. How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: I am available any time during weekends, and majority of day during the week. In your own words, what are the responsibilities of a Gamemaster?: The responsibilities of a gamemaster is to ensure the player has a good roleplay experience. The first responsibility is to add, not remove from their experience, The second is to listen to player feedback and use it to improve upon their experience in the future. The third is to assist in creative and technical planning for the gameplay of the player. The last is to assist management in finding cheats/exploits as well as any bugs that can endanger the gameplay of another. Describe how you would contribute to RP as a part of the Gamemaster team: I would try my hardest to provide easily understandable event plots, as well as keeping events running as smoothly and as fast as possible. If problems arise within an event or war, I would work quickly to keep players on track to what they should do next. Explain your single most creative idea for contributing to the RP environment of the server: My current best idea is a Kidnap-Investigation Event: Phase 1: [The Search] [Start 10 minutes prior to war, End if 'SI' dies] 2 Randomly Selected Players from US/RU [ 2 selected from same Faction, will be 'DEFENDER' | unselected Faction will be 'ATTACKER' ] (Check that both players will be on all-event) will be selected as 'Kidnapped Officer' [KO] and 'Special Investigator' [SI] ( During Phase 1, 'SI' only has 1 life. ) Plot: " A 'KO' is reported to be concealed in a hidden location! The squad that was assigned to protect 'KO' during his stroll were over-whelmed by a greater force. High-Ranking Officers hire the best 'SI' from the country to solve the mystery of 'KO' 's location." 'DEFENDER' : The team must protect the 'SI' along a pre-determined route, stopping at evidence locations throughout the map for 1 - 2 minutes each. (Time kept by game master) Once stopping at the locations, the 'SI' must return to their respective teams debrief before commencing to 'Phase 2.' 'ATTACKER' : The team must attempt to ambush the 'DEFENDER' team along their route. The main objective during this phase is to kill the 'SI.' Success in this endeavor means causing the enemy to waste much needed resources and capability. Phase 2: [The Rescue] [During Phase 2, 'PO' only has 1 life, 'SI' no longer is limited on lives] [Start after 'DEFENDER' succeeds with Phase 1, End if 'PO' dies.] 'DEFENDER' : 'SI' will be given the location of the 'KO' by the Game Master. They must focus attack and rescue 'KO' from the location before he is killed. 'ATTACKER' : The team must wait until 5 minutes after Phase 2 begins in order to execute the 'KO.' Until then, the team must focus defense at the location of the 'KO' Please list and explain 5 unique event ideas of any scale: [Be sure to include any additional context that may be necessary to your explanation] : 1 : ) This is the Way : A player with a .50 Pistol, Rocket Launcher, and Experimental Armor (1500 Armor) is tasked with extracting a VIP from a specific known location. (1 US/RU Versus Entire Rest of server becoming opposite faction) ( Small to Medium Pop ) 2 : ) The Massed Media : Gather as many neutral VIP's as possible within the specific amount of time to win the event. VIP's are unarmed and must follow FearRP but may run if they see you coming up. ( Large Pop ) 3 : ) Jacked Up : 5 Soldiers from each team are the results of experimental drug treatments, Boosting their speed by 1.25, Health set to 250, and Automatic Health Regen of 2 HP Every 3 Seconds. ( Any Pop ) 4 : ) Full'o'Holes : Everyone plays war with an M60 MG (Regular War, but weapons are restricted to 'keys' and 'M60' ( Any Pop ) 5 : ) Preach to the End : A single radical figure within the Russian Forces is gaining a following with fellow Russians and external extremist groups alike. ( A single Jihad officer ) The US must take him out before his march reaches the gates! ( Large Pop )
  6. Greetings Garnet Gaming players, The reason I am creating this tutorial is that I have found that many players, old and new, that have had trouble figuring out how to set up binds. Hopefully, the steps below will be thorough enough to walk you through, however, if you are still having trouble feel free to PM me on forums, or over steam! This short tutorial will walk any player, regardless of experience or playtime, on how to properly set up and use binds, from start to finish, for in-game use. (Please note that binds are game-wide, and can be used in any single-player and/or multiplayer server!) How-To : Set Up Basic Binds Step 1: Enabling Developer Console The developer console is a very useful tool for just about everyone. You can use it for tasks ranging from connecting directly to a server via an IP Address, to have toggle control over movement and any keyboard controls, to what we are using it for right now, creating binds! The first step to enabling the developer console is to navigate to your options settings. (If you are in-game on Garnet Gaming DarkRP, you may need to exit to the main menu before being able to enable the console, this is because of the custom menu.) Next, just check the Developer Console option within the advanced menu. Your done setting it up! Step 2: Finding a bind layout for your specific keyboard controls (optional) Plan out and choose which buttons to assign to binds (keep in mind, if you are creating a base and want fading doors, you may want to keep space for them.) Step 3: Creating and testing your first bind Finally, let's get to actually getting the bind bound, and testing it! The general layout of a bind is as follows: bind key "command" Let's try a 'test advert' using a bind. Next, we can press whatever button was assigned to that command in-game to test it! It's as simple as that! Step 4: Personalize it/Make it your own! Now go play around and set up your own binds for your own needs! Below are a couple common commands: "say /quickwant", "say /advert Raid!", "say /advert Mug! Drop $5000 in 10 seconds or die!" It's as easy as that! You now have the knowledge to increase your speed in roleplaying situations, or just to have some fun! Remember, all commands after 'say' are as if you were regularly typing in chat!
  7. Thought I saw something about not posting on other apps, but couldnt find it in rules or anything, If so, I'll delete this. Nonetheless, I heard you multiple times over like 10 minutes yesterday (01/23/19) saying "I posted my app" or something along those lines over mic. Other than that I havent had any problems with you. Nice app. Good luck bro.
  8. In game name: Phor (AKA MrGentlePickle) Age: 17 (August, 2001) SteamID (http://steamidfinder.com/ STEAM_0:0:94819670 Warns: None Timezone: EST Playtime?: 50:14:57 Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: [YES/NO] YES Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?:[YES/NO] YES Referral(s): [What administrator recommended you to apply?] None Past experiences as staff: [Optional] Yes, previous Head Admin (Highest Rank Before Manager/Owner) on Moat Gaming DarkRP, and Moderator( Might have been higher... can't see unless there are older archives) on [GG] Military RP. Why should we choose you over other applicants? [minimum 2 paragraphs] I know that I, unlike many other applicants, can ‘keep my cool’ no matter what, and in any situation. I am a prime candidate for this position because of my large playtime availability. While I may not have a lot of hours on the server at the moment, I can guarantee I will increase those hours very fast, and that the low playtime does not affect my knowledge, or dedication to the Community. I feel that as a long-time member of Garnet Gaming, and large staff experience, I will be a greater resource to the staff team, having my previous knowledge of what the best option is in many situations, big and small. Another perk is that I am able and willing to participate, engage, help, and teach other staff members or members of the community in any way possible. These are just a few reasons on why I feel that I would be a great addition to the Garnet Gaming DarkRP staff team. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, Include details Not anything serious. Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: I have previously been staff on GG Military RP. Other than that, no. How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: I will contribute at least 60% up to 90% of my playtime on the server, depending on need of staff at that moment. I can typically play anywhere from 4-6 hours on weekdays, and 6-10 hours on weekends. If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod? FIRST Robotics, Coding (including freelance jobs for gmod via gmodstore, you should watch out for any Addons I create ), and random Computer Science/Computer Engineering projects. Did you read the staff rules?: Phor Thank you all for reading my application
