Are the events ever any good? I can't say that i've participated in the most recent ones, but i've participated in the older ones. Most of the RP is either stupid Zombie attacks with NPCs or the Same attack/kidnap scenario. There's almost no creativity in the GM/Staff team.

I had a plug-in that I was looking at that massive improved NPC AI. Worked on the test server I had going, they actually became a threat. Don't remember why I didn't push it through though.

Honestly, the greatest issue I had with the GM system was the inability to spawn in weapons, and the lack of a meaningful rewards system to the factions who "won" the event/participated.

well all i see is that people who barley play or left the server when we needed them the most suddenly are coming back pitching ideas out of the blue .

i may not have any ideas atm but what i actually do is make sure everyday that i am doing my best for the server.

Well for me personally, I got burnt out, had a lot of personal shit to deal with, and didn't feel it was fair to sit in an Executive position and do nothing.

Currently, I work full time, and attend school part time. I don't have time to come back and spend six hours a day on Garnet. A forum post takes five minutes at most.

So, I'll ask a question seeing as I don't play anymore. What do you think new players want?

So idk how you came up with this silly idea of removing faction cuz there is absolutely no need for that.

the problem is not SOC not getting is the problem is that army and 2GA are non existing because idk the last time I saw many SGTs on both side.

removing a faction is not the solution I’m helping army myself by doing tryouts for them or sims. And my enlisted can keep them busy as well. So I don’t see any reason so remove any faction there is rn.
And staff also is helping a lot just yesterday we did like 4 events but no one was getting on. It may be the gun change it may be the map.

but removing faction is not going to help anyone it’s just going to make more people leave.

I came up with it because we did it once before, and it worked out pretty well. If those players of the closed faction want to actually play/contribute they'll stick around, if not, nothing of value was lost.

The finer details, such as a merger between the two tier 2's could be left up to the staff team. Doesn't have to be a full removal.

If no one is getting on, and staying on despite running four events, then maybe it's time to re-examine what keeps people entertained.

  3. Preface by saying I don't play anymore, but I hang around and talk with people who do, as well as observing overall reactions/activity.

Multiple people have made mentions about the "WEAPON SYSTEM SUCKING" but did not offer and revisions to it other than "REVERT IT BACK TO WHERE IT USED TO BE"- however, back then even more players complained of a "Sniper meta".

Seems like a good start regarding snipers. Can't say I've play tested the new guns, but I heard the sniper changes in particular were a bit too much.

I've heard "Omega isn't what you promised to deliver" but at the same time, when Omega was supposed to be the super close-quarter map that was originally planned, players asked me to create a tall/open skybox in favor of an airforce.

Most players at the time didn't care at all about Airforce/the higher skybox. What people were really excited about was the CQC based map. Not sure how true that holds today. While Omega wasn't my favorite map, it wasn't a bad map by any means. Could be time for another rotation.

Bringing back a 3-way or 4-way faction set-up would bring all the veterans back and re-boost population.

When we had 3 or 4 factions available, they were hardly ever managed properly, and we do not have enough influential leaders that'd be able to lead the addition of 2 more base-factions and 2 more sub-factions. If we had some solid veterans speak out and say "I will most definitely come back if we went back to CSCDesert in a 3/4-way faction setup, along with 4 other members to play Taliban" I would most definitely consider the idea. Otherwise, it seems to be all talk from people being nostalgic. More than likely when I/If I switch to CSCDesert, players would cry the map sucks and the playerbase isn't the same.

RU is fairly dead from my observation, I really don't think this would be in the server's best interests.

    Here's what I would do.

Time to Merge/Lock T2's again on both sides.

People with proven experience and staff go improve base + SOC. You don't need to lead a base/SOC for 3 months to make an impact. Set up the structure, get dedicated players, and then hand it off, with supervision. Likewise, if you're sitting in the same spot for over 2 months and doing the bare minimum, it's time to move on and let someone else get a chance at leading.

Leaders need to start enforcing TS usage, I've hopped on several times in the last few weeks and it's usually the same 8-10 people sitting in locked SOC channels. This will help build a sense of community some players won't get ingame.

Overall, adjust things a bit at a time regarding weapon/map balance. Sweeping changes aren't going to help much at this point. Prevents burnout too.

That's pretty much all I got right now. An MRP Official Discord, yeah I know, wouldn't be the worst idea either.

  4. Fairly certain in most cases there are no refunds. You agree to that when purchasing the donation perks.

Especially when you get permanently banned for cheating.

    Best of luck though.

most non sniper weapons dont have 100% accuracy, wich means if u shoot more than 1 bullet u gotta wait 2-3 seconds, and for a person raiding a sniper base thats impossible. try to spray with a m4a1-s for example, you`ll see first bullet might hit but everything after is gonna end up moving up and dont ect

Then fix the weapons, not the bases lol. Sounds like you need to make an entirely different thread.

Next register your tag, proof of insurance, title, inspection.

Make sure that we add a DMV NPC that requires you to stand in a line for four hours and then roll on a table to see if you actually get your license, or that you need to come back with the proper paperwork.

For real though, just don't walk in the road. This isn't worth dev time, just report for VDM.

Good rep with community, but you haven't just been "banned for RDM on MRP" once, you received two Mass RDM bans over the course of 6-8 months or less. I don't like that you only mentioned one ban, and were very vague about it. Here is the proof of the two bans. One is also ~1 month old. Can we get more information on both of these bans??
    spacer.png

One of those is mine, but I honestly don't remember his specific ban.

Because I banned him however, it was almost a certainty it was malicious mass. I am/was a bit more forgiving when it comes to newer players who are bored/stupid.

What I said specifically was that we had different rules for Mass depending on the situation. Yes, when I was staff, in a claimed DB, Officers can enforce KOS on mingy privates. I'm not staff, meaning my words are my opinion, I also wasn't there. Also, it was up to Python's discretion. @Python I believe this one is yours.

Normally wouldn't respond, but I don't like people quoting me on stuff I said unofficially in passing, especially when my opinion has no bearing on the situation.

  9. We have a meeting on Thursday. I won't be able to attend it, but this will be brought up.

Unfortunately, there isn't one blanket fix we can make to fix things like this, as staff are human. We have different bans for Mass for example, but ultimately, it's up to the staff member's discretion in the sit. We have written punishment guidelines for each offence, but obviously there are sometimes circumstances that can affect the final decision, whether bad or good.

If you think staff members are banning/punishing out of line, you can reach out to a staff member higher than them. This only applies if you were directly involved in the sit. If you really feel someone was incredibly out of line, reach out, but if repeated claims are made and found to be baseless, then that reflects more on you, the general you, not you specifically, than the staff member. Ultimately, Ozzy and I oversee things the best we can, but we can't be everywhere at once, hence the chain of command needs to be followed.

We also have a process for warns/bans given out that the recipient may feel are unfair. Each ban message contains a link to appealing said ban, very few members appeal their bans, so to me, most of the bans being handed out are valid.

I cannot say if the same message applies for warns, but the same principle applies. If someone feels they were warned unfairly, they can appeal.

To say MRP is losing it's player base due to staff punishing players is a stretch. There are several reasons player count has been/is low, but it's definitely not that.

    Thanks for the post.

Will this mean everyone in all SOC factions will have to get there WL removed then do the tryouts for the separate classes? Or is it just for new people that join the faction from now on.

Current members of SOC factions will have their whitelists grandfathered in. It'll only be for new members starting today.

  11. Sorry, I was at work and could not post the clips on the forums.

Here are the spectate POV videos.

Normally, ban appeals will not be accepted after one month, however, we discovered that the rule had not been written on the forums yet. Because of this, any clips that were on my computer are gone, and this is what I had uploaded to Youtube.

We have officers they should be teaching enlisted the RP aspect of "ROLEPLAY" servers RP isn't just shooting its way more then that. If no one can teach new players how to roleplay then i don't know what to say then.

Currently we have issues getting base officers on just to do the bare minimum of tryouts/trainings/sims. Like I said previously, the server isn't ready for something like this. Ask Weeb and Ominous regarding their officers.

Also for the purposes of this argument, I'll bring in the person who I think best understands what new players care the most about. @Cold Soldier

I'm fairly neutral in all this, since I don't play Rust. But the people making the decisions need video evidence, anything you have would be useful.

  14. What server was this on @smookie65_ttv

Not Rust staff, but with allegations like these I think it's important the community knows what's going on.

From what I know, this could be possible on 1000x, but it's a stretch on 2x or 5x.

  15. How we have it now is fine. It's not worth the devtime on something like this. I expect people to be able to read.

However, in regards to recruits waiting, I spoke with Ozzy today to put up some textscreens relating to /quiz, so people don't have to wait to play if there's no one available to train.

All the responses are positive, and the staff team has never had any issues with you. I expect good things from you.

    @Tora1 Will be training you.

@Ozzy / @Gythem Please set her to T-Mod at your earliest convenience. Also lock and move to Accepted please.

Lack of community support. Personally, I don't think you're active enough to become staff at this time. The paragraphs are a bit weak as well, but that's not what I primarily look at.

Play on the server a bit more, get those hours up, get to know the community more.

You may reapply in 2 weeks (11/19)

    @Ozzy / @Gythem Lock and move please.

  18. Personally, I don't see the /roll working well on MRP. With SWRP and other roll-based servers, like HL2 RP, usually you have a small community that's there to solely roleplay. GG MRP works best with light roleplay elements, and a focus on combat and pvp.

GGMRP doesn't function like that, we have a lot of newer players who's sole desire is to click on heads and participate in combat. The style of RP on this server should be up to player actions, not a dice role.

Worth mentioning that a lot of players would just spam the hell out of it whether to troll or to do completly mundane things.

I get where you're coming from, but I don't think MRP is ready for something like this. -1

  19. Controversy incoming.

I like gunplay. Currently working on adjusting weapons and playing around with CW02 configs. The fact that the average player would rather see stupid shit like chess and the much meme'd "Brick", is more in-line with what I want MRP to be, a fun "controlled chaos" server where players have a good time.

I dislike the current state of RP. The current RP on the server is somewhat forced, and isn't really player driven. In my opinion, that's the only way RP is going to be successful.  I've played D&D for a very long time, and DM's that railroad their campaigns don't usually have campaigns for very long. Give players the tools to do RP, and you might see success. In addition, there's no overarching storyline that gives real weight to the RP events themselves.  In short, what's we're doing right now isn't working, and either the GM team needs more tools, or we need to re-evaluate how we're doing RP in general.

We had 80+ players easily before the GM system was introduced, and RP isn't going to improve officer quality.

tl;dr focus on the players and them having fun

I say this as someone who plays on the server every day, and I feel I have a good idea on what your average gmod player wants, feel free to disagree.
