This is true. We all thought it was hilarious. The problem was that I couldn't treat one person any differently than what was stated in the rules. Similar thing happened with Vac, who later got unbanned (except he massed post-war DB). I agree with this as well. We had to change the MassRDM rules for this reason. If these rules would've been changed prior to Oatlife's ban he would've been back with very little issues. Ban Evasion wouldn't be something negative to treat on a case by case basis. ie Railgunner will never be unbanned, but someone like Oatlife/KAP can be. I know I'm not really in the community much anymore but since this involves me I thought I'd give my opinion, especially since I was the one who banned him.

From what I remember you came back to the community for the sole purpose of being toxic in the shoutbox and, if my memory doesn't fail me, also in-game (although to a much smaller extent). Frankly, I don't remember exactly what was said or what went down but I normally didn't ban people for toxicity on light offenses and I'm pretty sure I remember you singling out certain people you weren't too fond of (including me). The main reason I do remember was that you had just come back to the community (if you even call it coming back) and all I saw was you being toxic in shoutbox. I don't even recall banning you, just blacklisting you from staff for the reason: "Demoted because of 6 warns as staff, came back just to start shit and be toxic like before, manipulated sits as staff that went under the radar (Perma BL)" That being said I'm in no control with what goes on from here, it's old and I don't have the evidence. The fact you waited this long tells me you know you did something wrong at the time because you would've appealed a perma ban. However, I wouldn't mind you coming back so long as the attitude shifts, it's been over half a year now. If you want to go to Gamma's event then perhaps Jake can just unban you for the day. In the end, it's up to Jake what to do with this ban. I don't have the evidence and I don't remember the entire situation, however, it is past the 30 day appeal threshold, although from what I've seen that threshold can be a bit loose at times. TL;DR: Old ban, evidence gone, was toxic in shoutbox after barely returning, don't remember exactly what he said.

I somewhat agree with what Aidan is saying here. I think it comes down to a fundamental misunderstanding of what a "precedent" is. You mention the justice system, which does use precedents. An example of a precedent in the justice system would be "this person should be punished for committing this crime." Whether or not you are regretful, admit to it, etc, etc, you are going to be punished if you commit a crime. Good example on the server is Ozzy, he could've been permanently banned again, however his punishment was losing Super Admin and going down to Admin. Ozzy was still punished. The exact definition of a precedent in law is: a court decision that is considered as authority for deciding subsequent cases involving identical or similar facts, or similar legal issues. No where will you find the exact same sentencing for the same crime under DIFFERENT circumstances. This is because there is precedent surrounding that a person should be punished for committing a crime, but precedents can not be set when each circumstance is different. Circumstances create the timeframe of sentencing, parole/no parole, reduced sentencing under good behavior, etc. This is decided by the judge, in this case the judges are staff. Basically, in this example, the precedent isn't the timeframe of the punishment it's whether or not you should be punished based off previous cases. That being said the question becomes, have people been denied an appeal after only cheating for one war (claimed by blooms), admitting to it, and being regretful? That's the question you have to answer to find the current precedent. That's not to say precedents can't be broken, thus establishing a new precedent. As stated before Ozzy's case broke a precedent and established that cheating but contributing heavily to the server may earn a reduced punishment. Others have contributed in catching other cheaters and were unbanned for their service to the community, much like reduced sentencing for exposing others involved in criminal activities. Toxicity bans lost their precedent and a new precedent was established that if the community member had "reformed" themselves enough to return as a non-toxic member then they'd be unbanned (pretty sure this no longer stands but it was a thing for a little bit when D Rose was Manager). I'm going to remain neutral as I'm pretty torn on the issue (which I think I made very clear). I just felt this may be valuable input and questioning in regards to this ban and precedents in general set on the server now and in the future.

Name: SSO OPT Gythem/Gythem I tested in the first round Reason: Delta was both my first and favorite map on the MRP server. The best memories I have of the server were on it. That being said I believe I can be of use in identifying what the community may want changed or fixed. As a former base faction leader and Manager I always felt I had decent interaction with the community and what they want/need. I also believe having people from the first test to see the new changes is of value to see whether or no the changes will be well received. I believe I helped out well in the first test with various other players, finding headglitches mainly, especially with Millerjerm.

(2nd Clip) This is a pretty easy kill, he killed a DF member, checked stairs and hallway, saw you kill another RU, then peaked and got the easy kill. I've had this in the past where smokes don't render, it isn't uncommon. Really should've been considered. Most of these clips were completely disproved by other clips, others he may not have but they are insufficient and not very suspect. This is the second ban recently where Python bans someone for cheating with insufficient evidence. If you spent 2-3 weeks and this is all you got then it's pretty obvious he isn't cheating.

Name: SSO JOPT Gythem (gythem) Reason: Well I played Delta on its first rotation and it was both my first and favorite map I've played due to all the amazing memories I had and would love to see it in its greater form. I believe my input could be of use as I generally believe I'm a pretty good player who has a fundamental understanding of how to use positions to my advantage on maps. I often know how to get to spots not meant to get to with this understanding and am very observant. I also believe my past experiences as a faction leader, especially as the GA, as well as Manager gives me a good understanding of what players, both new and old, would be looking for in a new map.
