  1. This staff application is not the place to put screenshots of a discord conversation as it's not only irrelevant to the app but it's clear people are faking quotes so I find this hard to believe.
  2. +1 I've known lewis for about a week or two and he's been a very mature and respectable person. I've seen him help new players, and he's always been a calm and collected person. I've also never seen him minge, troll, or go out of his way to start shit in OOC or otherwise. In addition he's been active literally every single day I've been on since I've met him (I'M on for a minimum 5/7 days of the week...), and his sections for why he should be chosen are clearly well thought out.
  3. Wow, didn't think I'd log in and see such a huge update! The vending machine relocation and pet sharks are huge.
  4. Thanks for giving us an idea of the issue. I figured something whacky was happening behind-the-scenes, just didn't think it'd be Facepunch themselves.
  5. Sorry, you cannot add any more reactions today.

  6. In-game name: Shankninja Age: 25 SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:1:18378805 Warns: Att RDM, honest mistake but I do own it as I was explained afterwards that I was in the wrong. Timezone: CST Playtime?: | ShankNinja has played for 634:45:14. Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: [YES/NO] YES Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?:[YES/NO] YES (OBS, already have over 1 Terabyte of footage to clean...) Referral(s): [What administrator recommended you to apply?] Lancey only official confirmed recommendation. Past experiences as staff: [Optional] Team Fortress 2 Admin/Owner of a few Surf/Idle servers, several other gameservers (Minecraft, Counter Strike: Source). Have never owned/operated/administrated a Garrysmod Server however (besides one with friends, very few addons - this was 10 years ago). I am extremely fluent in console and commands so I can quickly pick up and operate off of whatever commands and training is needed. Why should we choose you over other applicants? [minimum 2 paragraphs] I'm a mature, nonbiased, player of the server. I have played over 580 hours in just over two month's time (an average of just over 8 hours per day) and I have been able to understand how the rules work, how things are handled, and how a level headed moderator works versus a new moderator. I know this from the various sits I've been in for reports and witnessed. I've seen how things are handled in usual circumstances and have a feel for how the log system is used and understand proof is required for a serious punishment. I also know not to use a punishment on a player that is heavier than the action, and that there are guidelines to understand and follow. In addition, I love interacting with and helping people on this server. Most people are pretty laid-back, and even those that aren't, I feel I'm capable of dealing with. I believe keeping a level head and de-escalating the situation before coming to a solution is the key in making sure both players understand and accept the choices and their consequences. Many sits are truly a learning experience, and with a server as large as this there are bound to be new players that genuinely don't know or understand all the rules and I realize that Staff is there for these new players too, so that we can invest in and foster a community of accountability for both new players and old. Why should you choose me though? I feel that with the recent resignations, and after being ingame for long enough, that there are several times where staff are completely overwhelmed. Who can blame them if there's 1-2 Staff online with 60-100 players? I can keep a level head in a stressful situation, as it's a skill I've had to learn for my career and my life. I know that a fun server and a fairly moderated/administrated community is one that people prefer to return to and that's why I'd like to be a part of the staff team. In addition, I'm already finding myself helping new players in OOC when they ask questions, and already have the top 3 FAQ bound (How to make money/XP, how to make keypads work, how to access main settings) so I can quickly and easily help those who need it as these are common subjects. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, Include details: In-game warn as mentioned above on the DarkRP#1. I meant to hit a printer that was being stolen from me and a player body blocking it got shot instead, and I suffered the punishment and learned from it. Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: No How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: Enough time to meet sit quota. I work a fulltime job as a SaaS Administrator but I have plenty of time to dedicate to videogames, hobbies, and the things that I deem important. This is one of those important hobbies that happens to be a videogame, so I can consider myself as having the dedication required and/or expected. But if you want a real number: I can dedicate a minimum of 20 in-game hours a week for the forseeable future. The forseeable future is the rest of my life, but I'm not a clairvoyant. I do however not believe anything will come between my responsibilities and my life. If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod? Like I said above, I'm a SaaS Administrator (Salesforce and other softwares specifically). I have a Computer Science Degree (A.A.), several Networking Certifications (CCNA 1+2) and have over 5 years in the technology industry. I've owned and operated Source servers for over a decade, mostly Team Fortress 2, and understand various sourcemod menus, as well as having had to custom-tweak a few with Perl. I am an amateur guitar player, I enjoy audio and music in general, and I have a deep interest for any fun game with a gun (Overwatch, Garrysmod, Team Fortress 2, CSGO, CSS, Valorant, DOOM classic and new, etc.) Did you read the staff rules?: ShankNinja
  7. I'm not saying it's absolutely necessary, just that I personally would play it more. Garnet doing anything MC related I will try however. That being said you're right; however in my experience setting up factions servers can be done in a matter of an hour or two depending on how anal you wish to be with configuration. On the same server though? I've never ran a multi-gamemode server like Hypixel so I imagine it's more involved.
  8. Agreed. If there was a Survival/Factions/Towny server it'd probably take up a ton of my free time.
  9. I tend to play mostly Factions servers but if Garnet hosted an MC server at all I would play it. I think Minecraft is a huge opening.
  10. I'm going to have to -1 because not only have you admitted that you've ignored 10% of the rules, you didn't apply in the correct format and seemed to have missed some of the Staff Rules. You entirely missed the "Why should we choose you over other applicants? [minimum 2 paragraphs]" part of the app. I think if you put a little more time, thought, and study a little bit more of the rules you'll have a better chance when you reapply.
  11. I'll +1, although it doesn't affect me much personally, just about the ENTIRE OOC was complaining about it this day. This particular player which I believe has yet to be named, was begging for an admin to forcejob him to Rapist because he didn't have VIP. Meaning: 1. Players cannot pay him to stop 2. An admin would have to abuse or negotiate with a griefer to stop it 3. He was trying to access VIP privileges without paying for it, which if had happened would cause others to do the same thing. When the entire OOC chat is trying to get you to stop (at least 20 people complaining over the course of an hour), admins/manager trying to get you to stop, and you still continue it then this is a whole other issue honestly. While it's neither here-nor-there whether the new rule is necessary to be stated in the MOTD, we have a lot of players that will do something like this just because it isn't written expressly in the rules that they can't do it. This is the unfortunate circumstance we will likely find ourselves in if this isn't nipped in the bud. The rules Proggy mentioned, along with an admin decision being final, was enough to stop this one situation from occuring. HOWEVER: If Proggy wasn't on and no other staff was willing to quote rules that don't explicitly state anything about crowbars (even though they're valid), this could've gone on for hours. I think simply adding it in and being able to give a warn based on that, or clarifying the griefing/spamming rules to include smacking a crowbar on metal, would solve a lot of issues. To all who said they haven't experienced this yet: When an entire server population is complaining about something so easy to do, we will see an uptick in minges/spammers doing the same thing if it's deemed acceptable and/or not consistently punished.
  12. I got my name during a heated match of COD4 where I would repeatedly drop down on people and knife them to death. My cousin goes "You just dropped down on me like some kind of... Shank Ninja!!" and it stuck. I've since been a Spy Main in TF2 and continue to knife fight people who have no chance in any game I'm in
  13. It does state that it's a subscription when checking out, so stating it in the portal only for it to also be ignored seems a little redundant. Garnet already posted an explanation for why this was set as a subscription in the first place and that it's hardly a priority right now.
  14. Ok, what am I to do in order to be able to defend my printer next time? What advert do I use to shoot the person stealing my printer and/or people assisting him, intentionally or otherwise? That's what I'm unclear about. And if I could get some guidance on how to prevent this situation in the future so my warn disappears from my account in two weeks without any more, that'd be awesome. The rules the players are provided are apparently different than the rules in this handbook as there's no mention of Att RDM in the Server Rules or how to prevent someone from getting caught up in a rule they were never aware of and didn't understand with a warn.
  15. Only thing I'll add to all this is the guy running with the printer stealer was a banker. I know I can't make the player respond on here, but a banker running with a stolen printer indicates foul play as well. I am sure this won't help my case a ton, but wouldn't a Banker running with someone stealing a printer be against the rules as well? If you're going to be assisting a printer thief who didn't even advert steal, you can't in all honesty expect to be completely safe. I got shot a lot moving my own printer but did I report anyone? No. That's just the game, or at least prior to last night I thought it was the game. You can't run with a printer and expect not to get shot in Garnet. If being shot for helping steal a printer is Att RDM, then what am I supposed to do in this situation? Advert counter on someone stealing my stuff? Advert raid on the person? I still don't understand what I was supposed to do differently in this situation and the staff have not given me any direction. I'd do the exact same thing again in the exact same circumstance. You steal my shit, you should expect a bullet to go towards my stolen shit. If that's not Roleplay, then please explain what I'm supposed to do in the future so that the warn actually feels like I did something wrong and that there's a right way to handle this because I'm continually drawing a blank.
  16. Do Staff record their sits? The guy reporting me didn't say a word besides that he lost perks which is why I paid him back. You trained Musty yet I think we both agree a verbal warn would have been more appropriate. Being trigger happy with players is only going to cause unnecessary grudges against players and staff. I clearly put much more time in my appeal than the staff did that warned me, so I was just hoping that it could be lifted as playing in a server you've been unusually punished on puts a bad taste in my mouth and makes me rethink how much time and money I've spent here only to have the hammer brought down on me because some guy was dryhumping a stolen printer. That being said, is Musty new? I'm hoping to hear what he has to say if he uses the forums at all. Maybe after his explanation you will better believe or understand where I'm coming from, that is if he owns the warn. I added the video of the end of the sit. I wasn't recording the actual encounter or beginning of sit unfortunately, so this is all I could get. I hope it helps my case somewhat. "If you don't like it, then report me on the forums" Well I didn't like it, I thought it was unfair, and here I am trying to make my case. I got a verbal warning, I don't think I need a physical strike against me in addition to having AttRDM explained to me in a way that is literally nowhere to be found in the Rules listing for DarkRP.
  17. I disagree Stevie. My printer was stolen and I tried shooting it, I never intended to shoot somebody or attempt to kill anyone. I understand what you mean Stevie, but he warned me the first time I make a mistake and if that's the leniency on something so minor here when a jailing/better explanation sounds more of an acceptable punishment, then I can see why so many people have problems enjoying this server. Anyone can buy staff and be putting permanent strikes on people's accounts for a minor offense, yet when I report someone I'm asked if I think they deserve a warn or not, I've literally never seen an experienced staff hand out a warn so quickly and without second thought. I always think fron my perspective "Do they need a permanent strike or just a talking to?" It's always the latter unless they're committing RDM on people intentionally. Maybe 230 hours isn't enough playtime, but I think the inconsistency and luck-of-the-draw with getting a reasonable staff is a little less than desired. Minutes later I get literally RDM in the street and no staff to be found on duty. Literally while typing this appeal. My report for RDM gets unanswered (as is the usual...) Yet I get teleported up and warned and sent back in recors time. Just seems like he wanted to be done with me. I get my appeal might not get accepted. Musty said it's my only choice as he warned me before really even explaining the situation and can't remove it. I think staff should be helping the players, and while I did make a mistake I think it could have been solved without a warn is all I'm saying. If you're going into a sit and dont want to hear both sides before taking action, then it's my opinion that the job is not for you and certainly not for the benefit of the community.
  18. In-game name: ShankNinjaSteamID (https://steamid.io/):STEAM_0:1:18378805Staff members in-game name:Musty FlowStaff members SteamID (/id (name): STEAM_0:1:83587811Date & Time of incident: April 4, ~11:20-11:25 Timezone: CSTWarn Reason: Att RDMWhat happened? (include any proof): I was moving my printer and it got stolen. I tried to shoot it with an AWP so the guy stealing wouldn't get it, but during the time someone else running and jumping in front of it got misclicked by my AWP. I right away adverted Misfire, with the intention to reimburse him. He instantly reported and I reimbursed him 33K for Perks right away and I was warned for Att RDM. I wasn't trying to shoot anything but the Printer, but as he was running with the stealer (Who didn't advert steal or raid, and I don't know who it is because he was running with a group) he took the bullet. While I made a mistake and someone died for it, I don't think it deserves a warn against my account as I didn't intentionally do any harm and immediately made up for it the only way I can. In addition, the person I shot adverted Counter and then false while running with the stealer, and in the heat of things it could be assumed they were working together as well. There was a LOT of shooting going on here. I received various amounts of damage from multiple sources as well during this printer transfer, but I know that was bound to happen as I feel anyone who's within 5 feet of a printer while guns are being shot at it should be. Am I to believe that when a printer is being stolen from me by someone shooting and robbing me that I can't even try to shoot at the printer? If it gets to their base I have no choice but to be missing a printer until I leave, so in the moment it was not a situation I wanted to undertake. Why should your warn be removed?: I've been playing this server for over 230 hours and the one time I have the rules broken on me due to no advert steal/raid, I get warned in a sit because Musty "Just has to do his job". I understand there's a sit quota and all, but a punishment quota? I honestly don't feel I deserve the warn for Att RDM as I didn't attempt to RDM anyone, only destroy the printer that was being stolen from me by someone actually abusing the rules by not adverting and just quickly trying to escape with it. Of course, there will be no punishment on the person actually stealing from me without adverting as I didn't get to see the name or shoot them instead of the person running and jumping with him, but all I want is this warn lifted so I can continue to enjoy this server without the fact that any playing can lead to a warn just because someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I've seen many people get away with honest misses in a situation like this, so I'm hoping that I am in the same boat and we can all look past this. It's clear I didn't intend any harm, attempt any RDM, yet I feel I was punished simply to meet a number on a sit quota and I feel that's not right so I took the time to make the appeal as it's the only thing I can do now. Thank you for taking the time to read my warn appeal. I hope you have a good day and are able to try and think about this from my point of view.
  19. Yes I agree with you. I do think that the items that are in the Unbox such as the Dlore don't really bring down the appeal of buying it in the store, as if you die with an unbox weapon you lose it. Good feedback, it's definitely something that I thought of but I'm currently finding it hard to decide between which one I'd want without seeing them ingame or knowing their damage output. I'm sure if I could hold each ingame that the decision would be much easier, and other people may feel the same way.
  20. Description: Hi all, I was thinking that it might be a good idea to add some donor weapons to the unbox. For instance, the two revolvers: Colt Python and SW Model 3 Russian Reasoning: I think if these were in a temporary unbox, that having people test them (and other guns) might cause them to make a decision on buying one as a perma weapon. We already have AWP Dlore and Striker + quite a few others, so I think for completion's sake this wouldn't be a bad decision. Curious to hear anyone's thoughts. Additional Information: I think these could also be added to Credits as well or instead, though having them in Unbox would be a good money sink.
