  1. +1 Honestly I would pay a one-time fee to not have to worry about perks every life. I'd also love to have a one-time fee for the Prestige Perks but that might be a different suggestion. It's not like 31.5k every life is a huge cost. But the convenience of not having to hit up a vending machine every life would be worth money to me.
  2. Hello Garnet Gamers, this is a new series I'm going to start that is specifically useful to OLD and NEW players alike called [ShankNinja's Pro-Tips] I will be shamelessly linking all of my guides together with embeds and keeping them single-topic so that one can click into whichever guide(s) interest them the most and prevent a ginormous essay that is too intimidating to read. Today's Pro-Tip guide will focus on Console Commands. If you don't know how to open the console or how to use commands, binds, etc. please refer to this guide which explains all applicable sections in detail: If you have any questions regarding this guide or any of the guides I link, please respond in this thread to prevent getting a necroposting warn or something! Expand this quote for the commands: For binding animations, please refer to AJ's guide which includes all of the console commands required to do so: Trying to bind Chat Commands? Here's a list of most of them (this is a 2019 list, though it's not important enough I've wanted to update it yet) If you can think of any other useful console commands that you have figured out, please post them in this thread and I'll add them into the guide! Next pro-tips guide will be: Loadouts; how to make them and use them Look forward to it next week! It's been released now!:
  3. -1 this already is possible without an external website Type the following into console (don't hit enter): sbox_maxprops You will see it return a number. That's the current prop limit. this might be a bit if a pro tip though... I found this out on my own and haven't put it into a guide yet. So hopefully this info is helpful for you!
  4. -1 This server tries to be as vanilla as possible and the printers are already powerful enough that bitcoin (which is just a more powerful printer) would be a negative overall. Second point: Casino is ran by Hobo's typically as they build in the street but as there are no rules against any other class doing this, one could theoretically run it inside of a building (though there are more cons than pros here which is why most just use hobo) Without going too deep into it, I don't see these being added mostly for the reasons above.

    VIP Printer

-1 As been said: VIP upgrade already exists in the fact that upgrades 8, 9, and 10 are only available to VIPs which is already a major upgrade over non-VIP. VIP does not need any further advantages in my opinion.
  6. +1 There's no negative (it does the same exact damage as the Raging Bull, Remington 1858, SW Model 3 Russian, and the Colt Python which are all on the store already)
  7. +1 glorb da goat Great app and I love that you are a restaurant manager - I think you'll be just fine on GG. Can't wait to see you on the team!

    Unboxing

Neutral I'm not saying -1 because this has existed before where a knife was able to be permanently obtained from an expensive crate. I think adding a 10million crate or similar that is a more beefed-up version of the 1 mill crate wouldn't be a bad idea. Example List: RPG7, Matador, Nitroglycerine, Nerve Gas, Deployable Cracker, Sticky Grenade, Droppable Crowbar, a Perma Knife/vape/hat etc. (the nitroglycerine, deployable, and sticky grenade being the "you just wasted 10mill" items: and each of these are worth less than 10mill anyways) Then every few months the perma obtainable item gets rotated to something else. People are bringing valid points that this would "lose money" and while people could be buying credits etc. to obtain perma items already, I think the point is to increase player activity. If there is a very pricey crate with good items and a chance for a weak (but still cool) permanent item you could obtain, along with some good explosives and sought-after items, it would create a higher-tiered money sink that boosts the playercount and gives those with too much to spend something to waste their banks on. (the only reason this isn't a +1 is because the suggestion implies an unbox with a guaranteed perma for 30-50 million which I don't think is a good idea)
  9. No, Xo nailed it on the head that you're only meant one response per thread. Adding irrelevant information, needlessly causing drama etc. like what is happening with Frank's application are already rules in themselves. Nothing needs to be changed in my opinion. -1
  10. Understandable, have a nice week.
  11. Description: I am suggesting that a new Police Officer class is added which gets the MetroCop model. This model already exists, and anyone who's played Half-Life 2 probably has more memory of the MetroCops than the Combine Soldiers as you interact more with the MetroCops and by the time Soldiers are out it's a nonstop gunfight. The 'Pick Up That Can' scene is legendary and the role that MetroCops play in the Half-Life universe is that of actual Police Officers (unlike the Combine Soldiers currently in use). Lastly, the MetroCop looks more neat and would add a touch of freshness to the CP. Reasoning: People would be more likely to use and roleplay as the new CP class. This would add another touch of spice to the newly updated jail/CP and would feel more like a police force rather than a military force. The increase of people playing as Civil Protection will bring about more roleplay opportunities. The last suggestion which was to add this playermodel to the existing Police Officer got +10 so it's clear that I'm not alone in wishing this was added to the server. Additional Information:
  12. +1/referral confirmed reasons all stated above as well I can't believe you are capable of spelling my name correctly
  13. +1 only for the reason that Staff on Duty are clearly separate from Roleplay and should be treated as such. This rule addition should also include the restriction of arresting SOD. However, I fully agree this isn't at all necessary. It would be much more preferable if we had a damage log overhaul that didn't get wiped because someone threw a nerve gas, or used an ares shrike, or someone spammed a stunstick on an AFK 100 times, or someone stood on top of the firepit in the cave, or somebody set up an RDM Arena, or people in a party spam guns on eachother, etc... This won't at all solve the issue of Damage Logs being cleared, but it would be convenient to not get shot as staff on duty. I wouldn't ever feel comfortable warning for it though, as I don't think it's that serious unless they're intending to clear damage logs: which seems to me more of an exploiting issue than a roleplay issue. Damage logs virtually never work for me when I need them to when the server is highly populated due to how limited it is and how easily it is to intentionally or unintentionally clear the whole damn thing single-handedly. Alternate suggestion that would work better if we can't overhaul or get a new damage plugin: Staff On Duty are tagged and then never make it into the damage logs, and are unaffected by arrest baton. A simple rule addition would take less work on the development side but it would also be a confusing addition, unless it can get batched with the many other rules that need added/updated that are already on the suggestion forum. I suppose it wouldn't be anymore confusing than the racism rules that are enforced but not included in the Server Rules for DarkRP when they load in.

  17. +1 Previous staff and one of the best apps I've read, hope to see you back on the team soon.
  18. yes, that's why I said don't run in a straight line into the player who's running away from you I have a 9ms ping and still hit 180-200+ ping on average. That is the server's ping, which your internet speed doesn't contribute much to. I've literally done no other RP than being a CP over this last week and like I said, I've only had an issue twice in which I had to cut them off because they were trying to outrun me, and that's over 50+ arrests. I waited a couple days to respond to this suggestion because I wanted to try to arrest more players before responding and after that I still think it's fine. Yes, your issue is mostly experience related. You're not used to the high ping on this server and/or the range of the baton. I have written a breakdown of your clip above: 0:00-0:10 you're not even close to arresting this man. you're blindly swinging a baton, two of those times you are within range of hitting him but it's obvious by the fact he's literally teleporting through you and you lose him point-blank that there's more at play here than that. 0:11-0:14 You almost get him! Each one of your swings during this time are NEARLY arresting him, but you can tell due to the fact you're moving at a different speed than him that he's body blocking you, which causes your movement to stutter, but not his own. 0:14-0:17 None of these swings are anywhere near this man 0:18 So close! But watch again - you swing before he's within range and by the time he's in range, you swing at where he was, not where he is. 0:19-0:24 Nowhere near this man 0:25 Close again! But his movement is causing you to stutter, repeating the same mistake as above. 0:26-0:28 Not even close 0:29-0:31 You almost cut him off and got him, which is the strategy I was trying to explain earlier to you. However, closely reviewing his, he jukes you just barely into the dumpsters and runs half of a circle around you before getting cornered 0:31-0:37 He's in an enclosed, cornered location, and you're again just blindly spamming your stick in the air. Meanwhile, a hobo runs up to him, gets in his face, and connects a melee attack on him on his first try.
  19. What do you mean it's not lag? You're both literally rubber-banding through eachother, his run is not at all smooth, several of your strikes are just swinging at the air where you think he is when there's no model there, and the average server ping is 180-200. I don't see your net_graph stats running but I am willing to bet that there's a reason nobody has ever had this problem for 8 years but yourself. Watch your video again. Watch how, when you're running into them, his body stops you and then he's farther away from you. Utilize movement other than running into him in a straight line. It's literally insane to me that you just keep trying the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. The closest you get is when you try to cut him off, and he literally finesses around you. Perhaps you just need more practice with this server's performance and baton? I am guessing the server you came (a server that revolves entirely around the police) from had a lot less lower population/lag and/or had a really overpowered baton, and since you're used to that is why you're making this suggestion, and is why nobody has ever suggested this otherwise perfectly fine item be buffed.
  20. -1 I think the range is fine. Police Chases are one of the more fun parts of RP and if a criminal is outrunning you then it should be challenging to arrest them if you're just running in a straight line at them. I've had to cut them off and stand in their path at least twice to pull off a successful arrest. Is the range pitiful? Yes; but I think it's necessary that police are at a disadvantage in this aspect, as a cop with speed+jump perk can already easily arrest anyone without it. Being a melee aficionado, I find the arrest baton works exactly as I'd expect: you have to be touching the person and then they're arrested in a single hit: making it one of the most powerful items on the entire server. If I had a knife with a one-hit-kill, I would just as much wish that it doesn't have its range increased beyond standard melee range as the item that can remove someone from gameplay for three entire minutes.
  21. +1 I've seen you on maybe more than a few of the people in here and I've interacted with you a few times, all of which were pleasant experiences. This also really stook out to me. I think this is the kind of attitude that makes a great staff member.
  22. Kick some balls brother, see you in a week
  23. damn you got a fat brain bro
