Date & Time of incident: 11:48 PM 03/09/2021
Timezone: Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Ban Reason: Soliciting Pornography
How long were you banned for?: Perma (999 Years)
Proof of Ban: spacer.png
What happened? (include any proof): I posted "ILoveWeiners.com" , which despite it's name is NOT a pornographic website AT ALL.  Proof: https://imgur.com/0GckJ0G

Why should your ban be removed?: The reason for a ban at all is unjustified. If the server rules say that links should not be posted at all, then there's a lot more reasonable punishments than a permaban.

These go against both the solicitation of porn rule and the rule against advertising.

It is not a porn website, so it cannot be solicitation of porn by the definition of solicitation.

Addendum: Also have donated and played many hours on the server. A permaban is way to harsh a punishment. People who try to crash the server get less.

This appeal provides context to even if the link goes to a blank website, it is still against server rules.

That appeal that you posted also provides context to the precedent that fake or nonreal urls have a shorter punishment length than perma.

Considering I donated $70 and was active and pretty well respected by most other active people, it's still harsh.

May I just add that if that's part of the "no posting links rule" to pose fake links, it should be in the rule list itself.

The rules also state verbatim:
Disclaimer: it is your responsibility to read and abide by our server rules, failure to do so may result in a punishment.
It doesn't say that players need to read the forum posts to know the minutiae of each rule.

By the definition of the rule it certainly is not. If it was, this post would also be solicitation of porn.
Also, you did not address lesser punishment at all.

Accepted (Partially)

Bear in mind, me accepting this is purely out of kindness. Fake links are still relatively bad, and still warrant a permanent ban.

However, I will reduce your ban to two months. As you said yourself, you "played many hours on the server" and "donated 70$" so I would expect better coming from you.

This will be the LAST time I will be doing this for anyone for a while.

Also, please don't flex your donations. You could donate 1000$ and you are still not invincible to the rules.

Joe Gatto did nothing wrong.
