2022 Rules Update

The rules for DarkRP were last updated in the summer of 2020, over a year and a half ago. I've compiled a list of suggestions and tweaks, in addition to many of the rules being outdated compared to what's allowed on the server today. Please leave your own suggestions too.

 

Format:

RULES SECTION

• Existing rule → Existing rule with modification
• Remove this rule
• Add this rule

 

GENERAL RULES

• Do not disrespect or use racism to other members of the community when out-of-character (OOC).
• Racism and homophobia are not permitted on the server, even in an RP scenario.

BUILDING & BASING RULES

• You may not materialize fences. → You may only materialize fences as "models/wireframe".
• You may not have more than 3 fading doors operated by buttons per base.

RAIDING RULES

• You may kill the owner of the base you are raiding/CP if they are in the raid area. → You may kill the party members of the base you are raiding/CP if they are in the raid area.

GANG WAR RULES

• The leaders from both gangs must accept in order for the war to start. → The leaders from at least two gangs must accept in order for the war to start.
• Gang wars can last up to 10 minutes, if a leader wishes to end early, they must advert "Crips Surrender" or "Bloodz Surrender". → Gang wars can last up to 10 minutes, if a leader wishes to end early, they must advert "Crips Surrender" "Bloodz Surrender" or "Grove Surrender".

JOB RULES

Banker

• You may not own a weapon larger than a pistol.

Bank Robber

• You may not mug.
• You may raid the bank however, you may not raid other players bases.
• You may own a base and printers.
  • You may not base within the bank.
• You may counter illegal activities.

Big Smoke & Ryder

• You must follow the orders of, and base with, the Grove Leader. If there is no leader currently on, you must base with other Grove members.
• You may perform illegal activities, i.e. raids, mugging, own printers.

Blind Guy  (if he gets fixed)

• You may require the assistance of others to perform certain functions.
• You may not raid or mug, the only illegal action you may perform is money printing and any killing as a result of defending your helper's base.
• You may only base with your helper, a person who is officially hosting you within their base.

Cinema Owner

• You may not deny customers the right to pay for entry.
• You may not charge more than $5,000 for entry.
• You may not commit any illegal activities
• You may not use any weapon larger than a knife.
• Cinema Owners are immune to raids, and muggings.

Civil Protection - Police Warden, Police Officer, Police Chief, Spartan, Terminator, SWAT Team, Spiderman, Adept Officer, Police Exterminator, Police Assault

Club Owner

• You must base at the nightclub. If it is already taken, you may base elsewhere.
• You may not deny customers the right to pay for entry.
• You may not charge more than $5,000 for entry.
• You may not perform illegal activities such as mugging or raiding.
• You may counter illegal activities.
• You may own money printers.

Club Bouncer

• You must base at the nightclub with the Club Owner.
• You must follow the orders of, and base with, the Club Owner. If there is no Club Owner currently on, you must base with other Club Bouncers.
• You may not perform illegal activities such as mugging or raiding.
• You may counter illegal activities.
• You may own money printers.

Rapist  → Covid Spreader

• You may not perform illegal actions other than rape → You may not perform illegal actions other than spreading SARS-CoV-2.
• You may steal STD medication from victims without advertising “steal” → You may steal a Moderna Vaccine from victims without advertising “steal”.

Crack Manufacturer

• You may not perform illegal activities such as mugging or raiding.
• You may counter illegal activities.
• You may only base with other dealers or with raiding classes.
• You may own money printers.

Crips & Bloodz Leader  → Gang Leader - Crips, Bloodz, Grove

• You may megabase, although it cannot be in or across the street. You need at least 3 or more Crips or Bloodz members to megabase. You cannot take up more than 3 buildings. → You may megabase, although it cannot be in or across the street. You need at least 3 or more gang members to megabase. Crips & Bloodz Member  → Gang Member - Crips, Bloodz, Grove

Deliveryman

• You may not perform illegal activities such as mugging or raiding.

DJ

• You may use your mic to play music (no earrape, high gain audio, etc.)
• You may not perform any illegal activities.
• You may not build on roofs.
• You may not have keypads on your hut.
• You may not spawn props randomly around the map, they must be part of your hut.
• You may not own a gun larger than a pistol.
• You may only build small huts, nothing else. No larger than a 6x6x6 plate in length, width, and height.
• You must base outdoors.
• You may not have a KOS sign.
• You are immune to lockdowns, raids, and muggings.

Doctor

• You may not call your own raids, mug, or own printers.
• You may assist in raids, but you may only assist by healing.
• You may set up a clinic in which you may charge players money to be healed, or be hired as a personal medic.

Hitman & Assassin → Hitman, Assassin, Deadshot

Pimp

• You may force the Prostitutes to do as you say, as well as create a base for you and the Prostitutes to store printers in.
• You may counter illegal activities.
• You may own money printers.

Prostitute

• You must follow the orders of, and base with, the Pimp. If there is no Pimp currently on, you must base with other Prostitutes.

Pet

• You may only base with your owner, a personal who is officially hosting you within their base → You may only base with your owner, the person who is officially hosting you within their base.

Raiding Classes - Thief, Cyber Thief, Franklin, Michael, Trevor, CJ, Alyx, Tommy Vercetti, Venom, Custom Classes

+1 to everything except the prostitute rules, just seems unnecessary

I think all classes besides cp should be able to own a printer. I think all classes should be entitled to any weapon of choice. I like the pretty format and colors as well.

Sure, I'm just trying to figure out what could be a way for the recently added Pimp job to relate to the older Prostitute job to interact with each other, and to distinguish the job in a way so it's unique to related jobs, like Pet.

I just know that even just rping cost money and printing is the only way to get it, locking off financial support to some of the more "rp" jobs, especially for new players more likely to play them cuts off that avenue of play, leading them down the typical meth manu. path. Not sayin they gotta have mega farms, but the ability to still progress while rping would put more people into those rp slots

Please note that accepted suggestions will not necessarily be implemented into the server, but rather forked over to the development team for a second opinion, at which point they are free to choose between implementation or not.
