Ban Reason: DDOS Threts
How long were you banned for?: 50 years
Proof of Ban: I got a clip of it

What happened? (include any proof): I was looking for a raid target as Sat asked me if I wanted to go thief and look around for bases to raid and then I was thrown to the ban screen
Why should your ban be removed?: I know why I was banned. However it wasn't for DDOS threats. I'm aware I did something wrong and broke the rules (I think at least I'm a bit foggy on what the rules are as of right now.) About an hour before I was banned I made a joke, not a clever or funny one to most but to me it was. I said to someone in game "i know where you live in game and irl" under the assumption that they knew it was a joke. Apparently not. About 3 other people joined in on the conversation and claimed I was looking at people's personal information along with their Twitter. Two things I don't care about as they are a minor and it's Garry's Mod DarkRP. If I were to get a ban it would be for dox threat but I don't believe a ban was in order. I know that people are strict about internet safety but I think they were pushing it to the extreme. I do deserve a punishment for what was said but not a 50 year ban. I'd personally rather have a permanent warning on my account that can't be appealed. That and/or a 2 day ban. I would be perfectly fine with that, and to make it better I will personally apologize to them whenever I am able to log back onto the server.

you are Right it should of been a Dox Threats not a DDOS threats but still is a permanent ban

If you look further into the chat logs I said "no its not a threat that's a bannable offence and I don't want to get banned" or something along those lines where I acknowledged that it's bannable which i believe further indicates that it was a joke and I wasn't being serious

Yes you're right it is a messed up thing to say to a minor or to anyone I'm aware but I was under the impression that the person I said it to and others would recognize that it was a joke not an actual threat which is why I don't think a permanent ban is in order. Rather a temporary ban to show I learned my lesson. Which is not to make dumb jokes like that again

I recognize that you were "making a joke" however that doesn't change the fact that the substance in which you were joking is taken very serious. There are other topics that aren't to be discussed such as racism, homophobia, DDoS, and personal information. There is other instances in which a joke was being made- here was a recent case of this:

In this post, the user made a joke about "having someones IP" and he was permanently banned. Why should your report be treated any different? The fact that it was said to a minor in this case doesn't really help. I'll let higher ups decide, however this is how I feel.
