  1. End of May, 2020 Thank you everybody for assisting in keeping our server up and staffed! Promotions Proggy > Manager (SUPER ADMIN) (280 sits handled, tremendous amounts of effort in helping me run the server efficiently) Honorable Mention Short message to Proggy, Thank you so much for doing anything from keeping me updated on the state on the server to sending me proposed update logs, and reporting to me the activity of other staff and cutting down times spent on this promotional wave significantly. Seeing as I am now removing the Super Administrator rank due to redundancy, I will be adding far more powers to yourself as I genuinely trust you with the server (and I cannot say I have trusted more than 3-4 friends over the past ALMOST DECADE our community has been up). Tt this rate, you would essentially be the "Super Administrator" of the server, but once again, the rank is being removed and renamed to simply "Owner" as to allow me 'root access' to run lua and do things on-the-fly as necessary, while Super Admin will effectively be renamed to Manager. Thank you again! Your original post was very blunt, saying you don't even give a fuck if anybody disagrees with you or blocks you, calling the server/community racist at times... then you proceeded to delete your own post? but yes, black lives do matter.
  3. End of May, 2020 Thank you everybody for being a part of our tiny staff team! 4. I really apologize I wasn't able to complete promotions today, there's really no excuse. I unfortunately had my entire day taken up by getting my vehicle fixed, half a year after my accident 😕 and I just got home at 8PM.

Going to make sure to do everything tomorrow as soon as I wake up!

Your all good we can wait, and when something important pops up of course you should make it your top priority.

Yeah I think a vehicle is more important than promoting people. Don't worry about it my guy. 🙂

  5. Hello Garbanzo Gamers,, Today a few changes have taken place, ones that should be announced and discussed rather than posted as an update. Our forums are currently largely used for shitposting which are in no way the intended purpose of this portal. Mind you, everybody is free to make short, funny, and pointless posts - but outright just posting messages with no context is becoming a hassle to see and repeatedly deal with. To ensure our community's forums maintain a more mature attitude, I have taken measures as to keep repeated offenders off our forums for good, amongst them would be players like @DuckyRU. If you would like to review an example of what is NOT to be done within our forums, review this particular players' post history. The measures taken are stricter punishments for disobedient users, however, still allowing them enough chances to improve their behavior. Below, the left column refers to number of active warnings, middle column refers to length of time under "Post Restriction" and the rightmost column is an outright IP ban from accessing our community forums. Warning #1 - 1 hour posting ban Warning #2 - 12 hour posting ban Warning #3 - 1 day posting ban Warning #4 - 1 week posting ban Warning #5 2 week posting ban & 1 week accessibility ban Warning #6 1 month posting ban & 15 days accessibility ban Warning #7 - Permanent forums restriction On the more uplifting side of today's changes, I will finally be adding a more meaningful use to the title that very few members in our community hold. When it comes to staff promotions, updates, and staff strikes, Managers and up will no longer have to deviate away from our forums onto google documents, as I have created an appropriate, forum-centralized, hidden forum location for managers as to be able to conveniently utilize. Server Managers will now be responsible as to what users climb through the moderator ranks and for what reasoning. Furthermore, managers now OFFICIALLY hold the power to promote users up to Trial Admin, as well as accepting ALL suggestions. Moving forward, if your server is not receiving an update, it is likely because your respective server manager did not deem an update necessary at this time or has not completed their duties of reviewing the suggestions subforum. This change will hopefully streamline and shorten the intervals between server updates. Being that Garnet Gaming has unexpectedly turned into my full-time job over the progression of our growth in the past 4 months, having great staff members who are able to trim even an hour of my day otherwise spent accepting/denying and locking forum threads may prove to be extremely effective in improving users' experience, as I can shift my attention to more important maintenance tasks. Hopefully the future is positive and we continue to grow! Finally, in regards to Rust: Unfortunately, Chewy, our only employed staff members has decided to forego his rank due to a civil disagreement in how the servers were being handled, and Garnet Gaming Rust is once again hiring a director/manager to aid in establishing an effective team of moderators and administrators. First month starts at $400 and may shortly double and triple up to $1500 a month based on outcomes!

Man is arrest but country remains in revolt. The future... June 2020 Country is led to a massive race war due to the escalation of prior events with the overwhelming majority being light skinned
  8. Moving forward, there should be zero excuses for shortcomings in terms of Rust moderation or else I will take action on my end. Please refer to the bottom of this post if you wish to read more. PLEASE NOTE: SOME CHANGES WILL REQUIRE A SERVER RESTART BEFORE THEY TAKE EFFECT Rules Post has been updated with new information, additionally, the rules now explicitly state these limits apply to BASING as well as player-interaction related rules explicitly apply to CHAT and not VOICECHAT Automated Moderation Removed chat filter with racist trigger-words Moving forward we should have staff around at all times within our servers to moderate and handle toxic users Chat Delay Staff members can now bypass the chat cooldown (1 message/10 seconds) Raidblock Removed building block upgrade penalty This feature would set an upgraded wall to 3% of its original health upon upgrading while raidblocked. It served as a remedy to a problem rather than a solution. Information Board Accessible via /info Removed the STAFF tab from all servers due to inability to automate due to the lack of mysql Teleportation Accessible via /tpr - Teleport Request Fixed the inability to teleport to users who are above waters as well as set homes above water 1000x Anarachy Server Instant Craft Fixed issue disallowing players from utilizing instant craft. All items will craft in 1 second. Killfeed Disabled death messages from printing into chat - these will now exclusively post to our Discord Map Rotations Attempted to fix issue with the server only rotating between 2 seeds Discord Moderation The following users have been set to the Rust Moderator rank and had their permission-sets fixed Exit, ItssBio, Spilq, Venomous, Brooklyn, Mightydylan101 Bot Channels Players can no longer type in botted channels Misc Channels Reports and Appeals as well as Donate have been detailed with more information, pinned, and 'locked' for comments. Forums Rust main forum will now display to users not yet signed in as to not drive Rust members away WARNING: SUPER LONG no TL;DR provided at this time. Sorry. I'm going to be incredibly honest and open with everybody, as I feel this post is warranted. it has come to my attention there was little-to-no-change to Rust since having Chewy onboard as a paid part-time role "freelancer" or "manager", whichever title you choose - the amount agreed upon by myself and Chewy was a bit higher than what I had intended, and so, I was really looking forward to positive results being that Chewy is a full grown man that carries himself well with much better people skills than what I typically find in people playing within this community. (the amount after our first month of trial is to be more than what Rust makes in general). I agreed to this and sought out for a manager seeing as I do not have the time to moderate ANY of the servers at this point, due to the high maintenance and now literally DAILY updates. I am at a point of time where I am working on and maintaining our community for a MINIMUM of 10 hours a day while blocking the outisde world for atleast 5-6 days a week. I really just wish for the Rust community to be able to enjoy Garnet servers, and see Rrust grow larger than it already has. It has now been more than 15 days since the hiring of Chewy and to be quite frank, I personally have not seen much change/players have reported much of the same to me, and I am also aware this is CONSTANTLY being ENTIRELY blamed on my own short comings and/or my lack of attention to Rust. Just to clarify, this is not something I am throwing the blame over to Chewy on, but I am simply pointing out. Chewy has no control over other staff's behavior, he simply has the powers to choose who makes it to staff, who doesn't, as well as accepting reports, which to my best knowledge he has been doing. Personally, I had taken a look at discord and the forums, and unfortunately evidence says otherwise (as for it being my own shortcoming) as people are crying out for help and nobody's responding to them or their staff applications. 3 pages of staff applications: This is a matter I had brought up with Chewy, and I believe his response was something along the lines of him feeling confident that the 8 current staff (half of which were around before the paid-role came about were present). That is understandable, however, i'm unsure of why they are not making forum accounts and aiding on said reports and/or engaging on the forums. I looked back at Chewy's last ~20 messages on Discord, and felt it was necessary to post 3 of them which either include condescending/mildly rude attitude to players, and/or blame me on the current situation NOTE: "not up to me" and "Garnet's rules" are common themes in Discord responses: I don't understand why the final response was a simple "No", yes Rust players tend to be very inconsiderate and entitled, but we should really have a team of trusted staff to spectate suspected hackers. That is not what should be happening when you mention we have staff which you trust, as well as 3 pages worth of over 50 staff applications. (yes, half of them are probably junk, but 20 staff could EASILY handle 6 servers) Not sure why you'd state this is not up to you when it is LITERALLY the description of the role you are paid to complete Naturally, I had contacted Chewy (and to his credit he'd also reached out to me prior while I was working on Gmod but I could not response) and I asked to reach a resolution, when he let me know he is absolutely not able to do anything until I "update the servers with certain permissionsets" (paraphrasing). I explained to him I would need a detailed sheet of what is missing from the servers, and I believe it was shortly after we came to a resolution of using a shared google document (much like I do with the Gmod servers and their respective management teams). We reached our resolution, he forwarded me a document and I rushed to get done with a few GMod updates and spent the entirety of this day handling the Rust servers. To my surprise, the Rust document itself had absolutely NOTHING in regards to staffing or staff not being able to do a thing, other than a Discord role and a forums role. That was it when it comes to giving Staff 'extra necessary permissions for staffing' ??? While the document did have alot of useful information and known bugs, a portion of them were outdated and no longer relevant as they been previously fixed by me (may have required a wipe to show). When it comes to our dire lack of staffing, I assumed it would be specified what is incomplete on Chewy's behalf for him to complete his end of the operation, which again, includes training staff and monitoring their behavior. To reiterate, to the best of my knowledge, all the document requested (staffing wise) was for him to have an Owner/Rust Manager tag of sorts on Discord allowing him to create staff rooms (despite the fact I am continuously encouraging the use of Teamspeak) as well as forum/discord permissions for staff unrelated to the in-game experience. These features do not promote more staffing and the catching of hackers within the servers, sure they allow for more communication, however, I would be happier having a "GarnetGaming.net | Rust Staff" Discord, which I am currently creating, as opposed to further cluttering our already massive Discord. To summarize: I do not take kindly at all to acting in a condescending way towards players, and taking all the blame off of yourself while using myself as a scapegoat. In the past two weeks, I've seen multiple instances where hackers spent an entire day on the server and went unpunished, on Anarchy, Oscar, and Sierra throughout the past 2 weeks. Is this Chewy's fault? no. Are players leaving as a direct result of Chewy's actions? no. HOWEVER Chewy WAS given a part-time role to remedy said issues - while he's not going to be a millionaire anytime soon from it, it is something many young adults would LOVE to dedicate time to during this pandemic, seeing as it allows for having a big enough boost in income as to pay off ALL your bills, or at the very least rent for a small apartment. To me the error seems to be where my busy schedule led Chewy to believe that he is a one-man-operation when there are nearly 50 users right now trying to apply for staff and ease the symptoms. I do think I made a good job breaking down how staffing on Rust would work? Welp, time to break it down publicly: Rust players, The Admin rank is quite literally a rank BUILT INTO RUST'S BASE CODE - me/we/the Rust team need to seek trustworthy individuals who are capable of using the rank for good on servers they do NOT intend to ever main. At this time, Moderators are strictly chat moderators who are able to mute players' chat and also serve as a proxy in forwarding confirmed hacking reports to administrators. Currently, players who Chewy deems fit for the role will receive RCON access for banning users with ample proof. Chewy will simply message me their SteamID/Email address, and they will receive an automated email with log-in information. Overall I am hoping Rust changes for the better, as I am currently burning an over $2,000 hole (minus the occasional kit donations) in our funding monthly, simply waiting for things to change. I really do wish I had the time to moderate some of our servers . Chewy, I am trying my best to get to things ASAP, however, this update doesn't change a thing staffing-wise, and things need to change. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
  9. If you said it ironically, I completely get it. But just note that as somebody who doesn't know you or your character, I assumed you were posting a complaint of some sort when I jumped updated DarkRP twice this past week .
  10. I'm just trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, because that was a really ignorant/contradicting/toxic comment to make for somebody who has just applied for staff to "help the server".
  11. Can't wait to see when things turn around for you and life is happier.
  12. Stayed up with @Enigma until 7AM to troubleshoot and update the server. Far too many things were edited/improved to remember, so I will list the ones I remember. Website Integration Staff Listing http://garnetgaming.net/ttt/staff Ban Listing https://garnetgaming.net/ttt/bans/ Third Person Menu has been added to add compatibility for Third Person view Carefully tuned as to disallow game-breaking use. Utilizing right click with a weapon out (crosshair) will set you directly back to first person. Added a check to disallow wall-peeking/glitching. Round Mutators Since our "Random Power Rounds" were removed, I spontaneously sought for a new random addition for testing purposes, and it turned out amazing! Infection All Traitor kills will convert Innocents and Detectives onto the Traitor team with a health penalty (50% max health for converted players) Boss Fight One random player gets picked as a Boss with a melee attack doing 50-150 damage Their health is currently configured to 800, however, I may later on update it to 100xnumber of players online IE: 28 players = Boss spawns with 2800HP Zombies Zombies spawn across the map and attack Innocents and Detectives Traitors will go unharmed unless provoked by these creatures This will lead to chaos, allowing Traitors an easier round Big Head Just a fun gamemode thrown into the mix, players spawn with massive heads and feet, allowing easy headshots (may get scrapped at a later time) Super Speed Upon round-start, the clock will be set to move at 300% speed, all animations and weapon firing rates will be buffed tremendously. Ticker Useful information will now be displayed at the center of your screen in intervals Pointshop MySQL integration added, Pointshop is capable of storing perks between servers While Pointshop is still not set up, some fun perks have been added, amongst them are 5 HP Boost +5 HP On Spawn (max health is also at 105) Detective Healing Stations will heal a player up to 105 if utilized Speed Boost Players will spawn with a slight speed boost, cutting mere seconds off travel times Jump Boost Allows players to crouch-jump through some obstacles other players cannot, not to a game-breaking degree of course FINAL POINTSHOP ITERATION WILL BE RELEASED JUNE 1ST WITH MORE PERKS AND PLAYERMODELS ALIKE! 3D Escape Menu Allows for hotlinking to our forums as well as transportation between our 2 TTT servers Commands All permission sets have been properly configured and tested! *ADDED* /removeslay [name] *REMOVED* /sethealth [name] *FIXED* /autoslay [name] Pointshop Points Reconfigured More conservative values were added to active and AFK players. Hourly Point gain while actively playing will earn you around 3,200 points, meanwhile being on the server (whether AFK or not) will passively earn you around 1,800 an hour. For a combined amount of 5,000 points per hour. Added TTT support Killing Traitors as an innocent Killing Traitors as a Detective Killing Detective as a Traitor Killing Innocents as a Traitor Positive Karma bonus and more...

  14. Would love to know why the choice to give him a disagree @JoeBudden - that could ultimately affect a decision on a staff application, but you did not follow up with an appropriate response. If you are simply doing it because you don't like this individual, we most definitely will have a problem.
  15. I'll be honest with anybody reading, this is Buddha's favorite manipulation tactic. Buddha does fuck-all and acts toxic in-game/on Teamspeak trying to make people side with him because he has mental health issues just like everybody else (all while blaming them on his behavior). Then turns around when he finds an opportunity given somebody else stooped to your level, and tries to play them out to be toxic/fools. Buddha, you took this one opportunity to act completely mature, calm, and collected. Too bad that didn't happen when you messed up the past few months. I'll be locking this thread for now, it's not an apology, and I don't see why somebody would want to go out of their way to read how you fucked up on this community. People like myself, Jackal, and Shrimp could write a scroll on how we've fucked up in the past, but we didn't. Don't see what you were aiming to achieve other than forgiveness.
  16. Going to second this. It looks like you're just letting time pass-by to allow people to forget your mistakes before you get unbanned from MRP, and this thread was completely unnecessary. Your contributions on the forums have gone up, but that would be about it. Wish you'd just make up for your mistakes by being active and helping the team out instead of making posts indirectly seeking forgiveness.
  17. You will actually be automatically subscribed when we hop on said maps.
  18. Unfortunately I don't think this can happen, alot of the models we currently utilize on the servers have a pre-defined set of bodygroups in order to keep the size of our content folder down. Furthermore, you can practically utilize a trooper model and attach ARF/ARC body groups onto it. Would love to know @Phantom's input.
  19. Hello Gardening Gamers, I am super happy to be working on this update while we have 90+ players participating in an event on StarwarsRP! 20. Yeah, in 3 months. I'm probably going to go for a masters after that though
  21. Hello Goat Gamers, I'm making this post to inform those of you who are trying to communicate with me/communicate with me regularly that I am back in college for a semester. While I am sure I will be able to maintain a high level of activity to ensure new content is pushed to our respective servers, a big chunk of my time is once again being dedicated to ventures outside of Garnet. Unlike in the past, i'm fairly confident I'll be able to do so, however, please do be more mindful that my activity hours have changed, and I may not be on my desktop PC a whole lot to use my microphone/Teamspeak. Changes have been made to how suggestions are handled on my end, and thank you so much to @Phantom, @AwesomeAidan, @Chewy, and @proggy for making it possible by updating a "Revisions" documents for each respective server, saving me the trouble of going on the forums and sorting through suggestions. I couldn't think of a better section to post this message, so it is going under the Announcements forum. Thank you, and I hope you all have a great rest of your week!
  22. I like that your events are laid out similarly to how Phantom would host his off-worlds, starting on Anaxes, moving onto venator, and ending on an off-world. I unfortunately do not know you well enough to flat out accept this application, so I will simply leave a +1 because you seem like a good addition to our team.
  23. Accepted I'm going to make an exception and set you directly to Gamemaster due to the current circumstances with GMs not showing an initiative to host larger event on their own. I will be able to train you and @Alex Conway on how to utilize your new permissions tonight (midnight 12pm EST).
