  1. DENIED @StraightWhiteChristianMale I'm going to emphasise the 1st rule listed on the server, which is to "use common sense". By your own understanding, the text screen and sign you made were "edgy". While not being directly racist, you understood this and continued to display something that you knew the player base would only interpret in the context you had strived to achieve, going so far as to ensure the colour scheme matched the Nazi symbol, just to avoid any confusion. Your intentions were undoubtably clear as to the meaning behind your display. After speaking with management, I'm also aware that this isn't the first occasion that you've been asked to remove these displays by multiple staff members, you're aware that this isn't tolerated on the server. Your ban will remain. @stretchy @Glorbnob @FlameSoul @GrosCave @PolarICE Please lock and move.
  2. It's important to demonstrate responsibility before allowing greater access to commands and tools which have the potential for abuse, not to do so would be reckless. These 'basic' tools are somewhat unique in their ability to be abused, hence the reason for the suggestion of higher-ranks only. The risks between staff who've bought VIP Mod and those who have applied through the forums are actually equal, it's down to the individual whether they choose to go rogue, and loosing $50 is quite a price to pay for 5 minutes of trouble making which is why is so rarely happens.
  3. +1 I think it would be a great idea for the reasons Shin has suggested. I can understand why it has been restricted, given the possibility of abuse by deleting building / kos signs on bases, but if this ability was limited to a high enough rank to avoid these issues then it would only serve to benefit the community.
  4. +1 I completely agree with what Shin said, and to further that, I don't see having additional text screens as a necessity by any means because one has everything covered, however it would be great for people building shops, post office boxes, or decoration for example. Even for normal farming bases, back in the days when I used to base with a friend, I'd put down a comical taunt after the first fading door just for fun.
  5. Neutral I think having extra buttons allows for some more creativity when building bases, like for example a post office box for buying printers off people, but then again I'm not sure I see the need to have any more than the current 3 when combined with keypads etc.
  6. When one chapter ends, another begins. The story goes on ❤️

    1. Wess

      Wess

      Hope all is well friend!

  7. Neutral It's just a funny joke role, I don't think there's any harm in keeping it as a higher level requirement given it's just something fun to play as when you get up to that level, plus more reason to want to prestige in the first place. I'm not against it being lowered either though.
  8. It’s super sad to see such an amazing manager leave, the amount you’ve done for the community over the years is incredible! You’ll certainly go down as one of the best staff of all time. Besides that though, I’m just glad to have found an awesome friend here One of the greatest things about Garnet is the people, and likewise you’re one of the select few who I can say I have full trust in, a permanent MVP.
  9. -1 (for now) Have a good read through the staff rules and edit your post when you see what you've missed, if you do then I'll come back and give a proper response
  10. This is a truly awesome update, top work!
  11. Neutral I'm not against adding additional weapons, however I feel that a lot of the current ones go largely unused. I think people seem to stick to a select few that they get to know after a while and I'm not sure if adding more will actually offer any real benefit, in fact when I used to play as a gun dealer it was always tough trying to keep track of prices and remember the stock lol. If there was one or two that you felt were noteworthy then I think it would be better to suggest those separately, but I'm not sure about the idea of adding additional packs of weapons on the whole, given there's great choice already.
  12. +1 Fantastic application, I really like the reasons you've given for wanting to join the team. You've got a ton of hours, with a clean record which speaks volumes of your character. I've seen you active on the server and I don't recall having any issues at all with you. I don't think I need to say much more than I wish you the best of luck!
  13. -1 You've missed something important on your application unfortunately, double check the format and you can edit your application if you wish. I'll hold off giving a full response until you've fixed that issue, but you should probably to speak to the staff members you've listed as referrals too, after reading the previous comments.
  14. -1 I do actually like you and think you're a pretty cool guy and under normal circumstances I'd be happy to give you a +1 to re-join the team. However because you decided use an alt to mass on the server after leaving the staff team last time, I'm not sure that you have the best intentions for the server or its player-base in mind, and I'm surprised it didn't lead to a blacklist to be honest. I personally have pretty high standards for potential staff members when it comes to past behaviour, and while I'll try to be fair and reasonable with mistakes people have made in the past, I think this falls outside of what could be considered a 'mistake' frankly.
  15. +1 I think you've got a reasonable application here to be honest. You have a clean record with no warns or bans on the server, you've got more than enough hours in-game and meet all of the other set criteria. From what you've said you're pretty level-headed, and while you're application might not win any awards, it's perfectly reasonable and I like what you've said about how you'd be a good candidate for the staff team. You've since read the rules and you have amended your post which is great. I'm not sure I fully understand peoples comments surrounding your forum / in-game name, as long as it's not offensive or bring the team into disrepute then I can't see any issues. I'd be interested to know a little more about why you were only staff on a MRP server for one day, I think it's too easy to jump to conclusions and there may well be a valid reason for leaving? I don't put that down as a negative by any means until I know the full story. I wish you the best of luck!
  16. As others have said, if you were to build a base for someone and then add them as a prop-Buddy (found under the utilities tab) they can use the Adv. Dupe to copy and save that base to place down later. In the past I have out down props for people when I haven’t been basing out of my own prop count, like printer racks etc. I haven’t done it for money though so that’s a good idea lol.
  17. +1 Dint mind the idea of a hammer being added. Maybe link an addon that you’re proposing to be used? I am however strongly against replacing the machete.
  18. +1 I think it would make a lot of sense, and while I can understand why it's been denied previously, it would be interesting to know if Shank's suggestion offers a way of making it work without having to add every CC to the system?
  19. -1 It wasn't that long ago that the skybox was changed to have the day / night cycles which was long awaited for. The server is meant to be vanilla (and while I know it's strayed a little) having a Halo skybox is just too far removed from what you'd expect of a DarkRP server.
  20. +1 Good idea! It would certainly make for a unique and interesting prestige class.
  21. This has already been added as an extension to the strip club:
  22. You're a great guy and it's sad to see you go mate, but I hope that you manage to achieve everything that you want to and I look forward to catching up when we get a chance. If you ever feel like coming back then you'll have my referral. Take care in the meantime
  23. DENIED You were banned originally for hacking, then later on you were further banned for ban-evasion which was automatically detected by the console. If you felt your ban was unjustified then you should have appealed your ban within 30 days. Your ban will remain. @Shin_Tsukimi @stretchy @Glorbnob @FlameSoul @GrosCave Please lock and move.
  24. Neutral As it stands, staff can already use their discretion and go with anything from a verbal warning up to a permanent ban. However the maximum amount of time a staff member can ban for this, is capped by their rank, so VIP Mod+ can ban up to 2 weeks without further approval, then admin+ can ban up to 6 months without further approval, and managers can go permanent. So in a sense, this is already possible, but depending on a staff members rank, they may just need approval to go for the full permanent ban. The only think I would say is that I do agree with the current system of capping at certain ranks, because every situation is unique and experience is the best way of ensuring that not every player gets a permanent ban. The way I tend to go about it (and depending on severity), 2 weeks is good for first offences, multiple offences is when I’ll start handing out months-long bans, and multiple repeated instances is when I’d seek a manager for special approval of a permanent ban. I think we do a top-job on Garnet of keeping on top of racism or other toxic behaviour, compared to a lot of DarkRP servers we’re among the best at taking care of these situations and ensuring people know it’s not tolerated, while keeping a calm and professional, fair approach at all times. To summarise, it kind of already is like this, but with rank caps (where approval is needed by higher ups) and I think the system works well, but I’m not against being stricter either, but without being overly trigger-happy on the ban button.
