    That's what I mentioned in the other post concerning nade nerfs. I feel that is the best way to solve the overall issue.

    The biggest issue with nades is that people are spamming them, not that they are killing people at unreasonable distances. The reason grenades seem strong, is because the risk of throwing all 7, or 12 if you used an F4 crate, is minimal. The only threat is that someone peaks you while you throw. However the biggest grenade cheeses are inside of comms and over the hills near TC, where the threat of being peaked is next to none. Comms especially is a snooze fest once two-three grenadiers get inside it's next to impossible to breach without a perfect grenade of your own or a snipe with a matador from the E hill. I think once we make people use their nades more sparingly by eliminating resupplies, we'll feel that nades aren't so broken. Yes they will still be potent, but they're meant to be. You've either paid $50 or you've not only made into a SOC/Spets, but then passed a tryout to unlock a grenade class.

  2. I feel a little iffy about this. The number of teamkills would be a LOT. There would need to be a rule in place concerning punishments of TKing, if we have any hope of this fix impacting nade usage. Warns, bans, player frustration will all increase if this is the route we take. Yes explosive spamming is a braindead strat that I'm not a fan of. Yes it needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP. But I feel this solution is not the best route for us to take. Plus I think the coding for that would be just as difficult, if not more, than coding for the nade nerfs themselves.

    Head's in the right place but I don't think this is the solution.

    NGL I’m shocked to see he’s 15 y/o. I was thinking he was 18/19. Very level headed individual who deals with stress well. Yesterday there was a shit show where 2GA interrupted our tryouts and he dealt with it swiftly and professionally. Would make a great addition to the team.

  4. - Revamp Outpost into an objective of today's standards. At the moment it looks more like a location you'd be tp'd to for duels than an objective. Personally, I'd like something close to Chaharikar's (pardon my spelling if it's incorrect) Town. From the screenshots I've seen, it's visually appealing and presents multiple ways of attack.

    - Creating ambient sound is a good idea on paper. However the current CSDesert map pushes that idea a little too far. The wind/dust/howling whatever you want to call it, is just plain annoying to myself. Depending on the maps location, finding accurate and easy-on-the-ear soundbites would work out well.

    - I don't mind where the location of this map ultimately is, as long as we move away from the Forest/Jungle. An urban-esque sort of environment would be what I would most look forward to. Meaning that there are some parts of the map(Outside of Bases) with a modern touch to them. Like a Town from Chaharikar, like an ATTC from Old Taiga. I'd also enjoy seeing some unique and RP-worthy RU & US Outposts. The ones on current Taiga are decent at best, with RU being poor. I feel making those two buildings more significant with buildings suited to the maps location would add some more variety to what the players can do. 

    - As far as an objective, I've thought something along the lines of an embassy would be cool. A large, singular building that would combine elements of both Construction and Company from the current Taiga. The building would be multiple stories and enclosed for the most part, with maybe a chunk missing due to a blast or what have you. The idea of having an objective and an urban building that promotes the use of CQC with AR's and SMG's is a breath of fresh air to me. I use and abuse the sniper meta just as much as the next guy but would be willing to try an OBJ like this out.

    - Looking at the macro-design as a whole, I think keeping the linear, even distribution is the right call. Have the bases in opposite corners of the map with primary objectives at 0 degrees, 45 degrees, and 90 degrees.

     

    This isn't very organized as I was just spitballing ideas so I apologize for that.

    Personally I think Desert in its current state has its flaws as a map and I’d be open to seeing an updated version of the map. Ultimately my vote will go to whatever brings in the most players because 100 players on a map that’s moderately favored by veterans is better than 70 players on a map they love. At least imo.

    I think you are genuinely remorseful which is good. Unfortunately remorse usually isn’t grounds to shorten a ban. That being said, I wouldn’t be against cutting it down but that’ll be up to the Operators.

    1) In it’s current state, this map is not that enjoyable. Like you mentioned, the Obj and Spawn balancing is abysmal. The glare aspect of this map is annoying but I guess that’s something I could get used to. The server is becoming more TDM than RP, you are correct. However there are still players/factions who enjoy and want to participate in the RP scenarios. Garnet mentioned that he could possibly do a massive revamp of this map to reach today’s standards. My vote is subject to change based on that overhaul but atm I’m not for reverting.

    2) IF we do end up sticking with Desert and for the remainder of the event, this is a huge +1. Shits fucked.

    3) Probsbly the 3rd or 4th post I’ve +1’d this idea. Slow people down and see #5

    4) I said no but it’s an eh. I don’t think damage necessarily needs to be touched but the reduced accuracy and potency at range is something I support. To my knowledge only twin AR’s can one tap, the FAL and G3. All AR’s besides these two take 3, non headshot, bullets to kill. I think that’s fair given the current state of the hitreg, with all the 25% damage shots that land. The accuracy and effective range changes get +1’s from me. AR’s and SMG’s should receive a more severe drop off in damage and accuracy past their designed in-game range.

    5) Yes, regardless of the map. Makes for more interesting wars. Enter suggestion #3 if we nerf movespeed / remove redbull, there needs to be another change to help balance objective capturing.

    That’s just an example of an Obscure KOS Sign, not the ONLY thing prohibited by that rule. What you did was clearly meant to be obscure and bait people into being KOS.

  10. Never fun to hear someone’s grades dropping. However it’s always refreshing to hear people are taking the necessary steps to try and fix their grades. Best of luck and good on you to start the road back to scholastic excellence.

  11. Only 2 maps I’ve physically played are CS_Desert and the current map.

    CS_Desert is a good map in its simplicity. Nothing super fancy but overall has a nice feel to it. The open landscape makes for fun times in vehicles.

    BUT from what I’ve heard and seen, Taiga will get my vote. I’ve seen various YouTube videos and screenshots that show a well-designed, intricate map. The objectives are all intriguing, offering unique experiences per war. There’s a chance that this is just a case of “the grass is always greener” but I would love the opportunity to play that map.

    For a few reasons. The paragraph seems rushed in regards to the numerous grammatical errors. You also spouted some generic “I’m on often and I want to help.” phrases the entire time. Elaborate on WHY you want to help.

    Also, and I know this is generic and overused, get to know more people. You claim to want to dedicate yourself to the server and community. Yet I haven’t seen you building relationships with anyone outside SSO since you got in. I don’t even think you and I have had a single conversation and I talk to damn near everybody. Don’t get me wrong, hanging close to home is completely fine, but for someone who wants to be staff, you are expected to have a positive reputation among the community. Whereas you have no reputation at all.
