T-mods on MRP also cannot ban. However we are taught to indefinitely jail/freeze a player in a Non-RP location if we need a ban and no staff are online. Yes a situation will arise where some jackass will re-join the server to get out of his punishment but you just have to keep jailing/freezing him. It can be tedious, but guess what, our job isn’t to ban. If they wanted us to be able to ban, we’d have the perms.

You can always check who’s on with the F4 menu... Also, I was under the impression that warn stacking is never permissible. You just have to get proof and have a ban string ready for someone who can ban. For someone who’s massing, you can freeze or jail them.

Does the VipMod tag come with perms or is it purely cosmetic?

Honestly, I didn't want to bring this up to anyone at first, but what I saw in the video was blatant cheating. 1) The aim was perfectly targeted at his head. Not an immediate snap by any means but cheats have evolved to where there's a smoother pull to the target. 2) This was the big one for me. Slow the video to 0.25x. Your aim is tracking perfectly like I said. Constantly moving with the recruit, trained on his head. BUT, right when the kill is recorded in the top right, your aim doesn't move a single millimeter. The second the alleged cheat doesn't sense the model/hitbox, it stops moving but you kept shooting. It's beyond God-tier reaction time. It's a computers reaction time IMO. I consider you a friend and I enjoy your company. That's why sharing this clip with higher-ups was not something I looked forward to doing. Unfortunately this video was not something I could sit on and not share. This is a -1 from me.

I agree with JJ and Ethan that kidnapping tryout and sim participants should be exempt from group kidnaps. Typically these kidnaps will be carried out by Special Forces or experiences base faction members. This level of player should hopefully be able to tell if someone is involved in a sim or tryout as they usually have different names or jobs. Worse comes to worst we can OOC pm the Host to check.

I also dig the idea. More RP = +1 Hoomans concerns are definitely valid tho. I can see people bitching that they were group kidnapped when certain enemy soldiers weren’t in range. Also, SOC/Spets being able to rescue base factions gets a +2

I’ll start this by getting some stuff out of the way: - Yes Joe and I were in the same faction - Yes Joe and I are friends However, this is all going to come from a partial perspective. 1: Opinion on the ban (2 weeks mass Rdm) 2: Opinion on what Staffs’ job is 3: Opinion on the perma ban / punishment outside of 2 weeks 1) From what I've heard and read, it looks like he intentionally damaged 2 players and unintentionally damaged 2 players. Now I don’t think there’s actually a clear definition of what intentionally massing is. If you int 1 and acc 2, is that int mass? Now I’m not trying to start some philosophical shit. I’m suggesting we make that rule clear as it can be used for a point by either side. Regardless of acc or int, a ban was warranted. 2) I’ve read everyone’s comments and opinions about this and I’d like to voice my own :). I’ll start by saying that a staff members job is NOT to be a robot and take everything at face value. If that were the case, then anyone can become staff as we are all capable of reading and understanding human speech (I hope). Staff should be expected to make judgement calls, especially as you get higher up the totem pole. Don't get me wrong, rules are rules and should be upheld. However staff are expected to include their input into decisions; ie: was the mass intentional or accidental, does a player have NITRP, once HM+'s get into the Operator Division they have to answer to reports and appeals. Staffing is not all black and white like some of you have mentioned. 3) He fucked up. He deserves to be banned. I don't condone Massing in any way, shape, or form. It takes away from the experience for other players. However, I'm not a fan of the "permanent record" that applies here. Ethan had mentioned earlier that the reason there is a "3 Strikes" rule is to punish those who are attempting to abuse the system OR those who are a hinderance to the server. I just hope that whomever is a part of this decision doesn't find Joe to be a true detriment to the server. Conclusion: Ban him for two weeks. While he's serving that ban, go to PetCo (because PetSmart is too damn expensive), and find the shortest damn leash you can find. I'm talking, his ass shouldn't go past your feet, kinda short. Wrap that around his neck when he gets back.

Like I mentioned before I'd love to hear what CJ and Jin say about the incident. Until then, what Ethan says here is exactly how I feel.

Definitely not trying to put words in peoples mouths, but it's my understanding that there is a "3 Mass Bans and you are perma'd rule." This was Panini's 3rd mass ban since he started playing GG, 8 months ago.

I’m actually just reading this for the first time. I absolutely love this idea as a game mode. Someone above equated it to CoD WaW’s “War” gamemode with the dynamic capture points. I think this mode would be perfect for those 25-40 player wars. SnD can be lackluster and tdm can get boring when people spread out with that kind of player count. This mode sounds like a great change of pace to the spamming of Obj wars. PS: Sorry for being late to the party on this post but I think the idea is sick.

There was a whole conversation on the forums regarding basecamping. It ended in a mutual understanding that it would be up to faction leaders to discipline basecamping and not staff. Unless of course they break the servers current basecamp rule.
