    Vibe Ban Appeal

In-game name: 2GA PFC Vibe SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:0:63191509 Staff members in-game name: Homast Staff members SteamID (/id (name): N/A Date & Time of incident: 7/16/2020 at around 4:00 pm Timezone: Eastern Standard Time Ban Reason: NITRP (FRP x 3 (Buying Doors)) How long were you banned for?: 1 Week Proof of Ban: What happened? (include any proof): Earlier in the day I bought the doors in the US jailhouse ( About 2 hours before the ban happened). Why should your ban be removed?: I bought the doors as a joke and kinda forgot about them. So we play for a while and do a war and it was a really good war so after RU wins a close 3 OBJ I take a break and make some food. I come back and tab in and see that im banned for a week. I feel like buying multiple doors should not be counted as 3 different offenses of FailRP. I also think its kinda shitty to not just ask me to come and sell the doors and just immediately ban me for a week because I spent $90 and bought some doors. If the ban is not removed I think it should be reduced to 3 days (1 day for each door) because a 7 day ban for buying some doors and not affecting anyone is ridiculous.
  2. These war types actually sound dope though unlike this hyper war shit
  3. -1 This just sounds kind of dumb and I don't think it is needed on the server. We still have SnD and I would much rather see that mode fixed than adding another war type that nobody will pick.
  4. This post got more replies in one hour than the post by Garnet asking about what the community wants for a full 24 hours. Taiga and Chakarikar are basically the same map with a couple of OBJ changes. I feel like the M4 changes are far too drastic and make the rifle into a laser and people will begin to complain in a matter of weeks like they did on delta about the Army and Marine rifles. With the lack of competent staff in recent memory the addition to Game Master I feel does not make sense. Overall I think this update swing for the fences and swung out.
  5. This reply will be solely based around MRP. I played SWRP before the majority of higher-ups left. If you do not agree with what I said, leave an actual response and we will have an actual conversation. Table of Contents GMOD / MRP Staff Leadership Friend Groups Balance No Veteran Presence Map Different Servers Revisions GMOD / MRP https://i.imgur.com/F9I9zoW.png In the recent gaming environment, games like Gmod are not played as much as others in different genres. Games such as Fortnite, Tarkov, Valorant, DBD, and many more have an exponentially larger player base than Gmod and it is beginning to show. Gmod and the MRP game mode, in general, are slowly dying. If a player wants a real MRP experience they go to games such as Arma and Squad thinking of MRP as a mingey alternative. Gamemodes like TT and DarkRP are taken less seriously and have adapted over the years to fit a player’s wants and needs. While we have made strides to improve our server here in recent time we have begun a deadly tumble that could lead to a permanent player base loss if things don’t turn around. Staff Staff have been and will always be an issue on this kind of server. They are the majority of the time made to look like a bad guy. When it comes to people in management positions they are forced to either make a decision that will hanger some players or do nothing and also anger some players. Players are too focused on being nice and trying to be liked by all. As a member of the staff team, some people will not like you, that's just a fact. Notable players like Jackal (of course), Phantom, Kendall, and Older members like Toxic, Shepherd, and Rick have all made decisions that players have not liked. Some of them took it on the chin and rolled with it while others took it to heart and let the opinions of the players make them second guess themselves later down the road and lead to them resigning. Nowadays most applications are accepted and no thought is given to it. The application process should be remade to focus on current staff opinions and especially the staff who are not personal friends with the applicant. When applying for a job you don’t put your best friends from high school as recommendations, you put people you know professionally and I think the staff application process should be the same. Leadership I am not the first and I won’t be the last person to comment on leadership. I have only begun playing again a couple of weeks ago so I cant confidently comment on the leaders of most factions, but leadership is more than just leading factions. For me being a war leader is a super fun experience. That feeling of winning a war while using your plan and tactics just feels amazing. 3 OBJ is also the most fun war type, but with the diminishing player base and what little player base we have become content with these 1 OBJ wars will never feel the fun of a war going down to the final minute and leaders rotating their forces for a last-minute defense/offense. Poor leadership is another one of those issues where the majority of leaders are not remembered fondly. I am a prime example with my Seals being one of the worst rosters in its history. I take that responsibility and I look back and realized what I did wrong, but I don’t let comments about it affect me. My MID, however, is looked back at fondly by the people in it. While leading is about being strong, confident, and respectable, making sure your members are having fun and interacting with them is so important. Inactive leaders do not only hurt morale for the country but especially the moral of their faction members. Friend Groups In the last section, I spoke about how having fun is an important part of the server. That is the whole reason the server exists, but there is a point where it can go too far. I know this sounds real hypocritical coming from me of all people but I will talk about memeware. While there are other friend groups on the server I don’t know them well enough to talk about them so I’m just gonna talk about the one I’m in known as memeware. We have all been friends for 3 or more years now. Faces have come and gone but the core has remained the same. We all play similar games and usually have a lot of fun with each other. At one point multiple members held high ranks in different factions and we all thought this was cool. Looking back on it now though I can see that with all of us being officers in different factions we kinda had free reign on Afghan. I think about how players underneath us might have felt and wonder if the same thing is going on right now. There are a couple of friend groups on the server right now who are spread out between multiple factions and even multiple countries. I have not been playing long enough recently to tell how the new players feel so I’ll leave it at that. Balance Balancing a PVP MRP server is a lot harder than people realize. It’s not as easy as changing a few numbers here and there. Balancing involves the map, guns, player count, vehicles, and many more small things that you think wouldn’t matter. I think the biggest issue right now when it comes to balance is the difference in skill and the player count. For a while now RU has outmatched the US in skill and when combined with the lack of leadership and numbers it hurts the country as a whole. Recently it is taking RU SOC factions to switch over to even provide a challenge for RU. The US needs a jump boost and right now I don’t know how to give it. Bringing back Marines would only harm it more I feel. Change in leadership is the best bet but if you go down this right I don’t know who should or is even capable of leading a faction. No Veteran Presence During CSGO and even up until RU was just starting new players have had well-respected community members to look up to. People like Ethan, Phantom, Duel, Shepherd, and Tayler just to name a few. These players were respected and a lot of people like myself even looked up to them. Most players know Ethan as the guy who led SSO pretty good for a long time and he raised the generation under him just like how Tayler raised a generation in the navy of players like Jackal who later lead good factions of their own. Today however the players don’t have anyone to look up too in my opinion. Some members like Homast have played a decent while and have left a good path on Garnet but most players don’t follow it. All players care about now is PVP, but doing PT on Rangers with Slate, Fluffs, Bendak, Slapdog, and Mitchell were some of the most fun I’ve had. From remembering the cadences and even teaching them to little Army PVTs who want to join Rangers. Idk how you would fix this but just thought I would talk about it and maybe help some people realize that older members of the community need to lead by example and help the new player base have fun. Map Maps have always been a touchy subject in the community. Everyone has a favorite and for most, it's the map they started on. Taiga is a really good map and made to be balanced for both countries. I know what I’m about to say is gonna be controversial but I have facts to back up my opinion. CS Desert was one of if not the best map in Garnet history. Like I stated above I have a personal bias as this is the map I started on in Taliban. I remember so many more things from just CS Desert than any of the other maps. Roughly 4 years ago to this day I joined because I was bored of playing Dota and failing all my classes. My trainer was WO1 Redidny (Who later became the leader of Tali and my higherup) I remember getting put into the cannon fodder squad and just running to TC over and over praying that a Ranger would not be in the UK and take my head off. That went on for about a week then I got the Tali Sniper class. That changed everything for me. I remember how fun it was ranking up and getting better. I started to go with the 55th Brigade to UK and eventually joined them. Working my way up the ranks and then I finally hit LtGen of 055. I was so happy and I was not looking for a reward, being an officer is its own reward. That whole story took place over about 7 months. It was easily one of my favorite memories of my gaming career. CS Desert holds such a special place in so many people’s hearts. Many relationships were made and most are still friends and talk to this day. Just last year we did a Valentine Event for people who don’t know and Garnet brought back CS Desert. What was supposed to be a 2-week event at most lasted a couple of months. Before the event, we were averaging about 60 players prime time. Not dead but certainly not good. After we switched we were in the hundreds. The player base was having a blast and while I think other things could have been changed I think it showed Garnet how much people love the server and this community. Different Servers Currently Garnet is running 12 servers. Murder is fine so that’s one-off. Enigma is doing well with TTT so two more off the list. That leaves the MRP server, the SWRP server, the DarkRP server, and 6 Rust servers. Currently, both MRP and SWRP are undergoing a bit of a player drought. As Garnet stated in the first post the SWRP is currently failing. While I know a lot of work has gone into it from many different people, Garnet has poured so many resources into it. While it is not a good choice I feel that it might be the best option to shutdown the SWRP server. Shutting it down will allow some players to go to MRP and hopefully bring back some numbers. This will not fix everything though and that leads us into the next section. Revisions Earlier in the post, I talked about CS Desert and the effect it had on the player base. While it was very good for some time I think that with some other changes to go along with it a resurgence could happen. The first one is changing the map back to CS Desert. While controversial I think it was the map that had the best numbers over Garnet’s history. Second would be to bring back the old vehicle bases (ATVs, Humvees, etc.)and lower the tick rate to compensate and hopefully relieve lag. The third change would be for Garnet to sit down with some respected members of the community that he trusts to tell him the truth, get them all in a call or channel and go through each weapon and discuss stats. This can’t be done in a day and will be a gradual process that hopefully, over time will allow the player base to reap the benefits. This entire last section is just a suggestion and if anyone would like to tell me how it wouldn’t work I am willing to have a conversation with you whether in DMs or on the thread so we can come to a middle ground and make the server better for everyone.

+1 No reason was given according to the appeal and I think the staff who issued this ban should be punished
  7. If anyone has any other ideas on what Martin could say just comment bellow and I'll see if any of them tickle my fancy.
  8. Martin has some words of wisdom for some really stinky bois for the summer. Especially @Jackal
  9. My Friend Martin here has some great relationship advice.
  10. Who are you reporting? [Staff/Player]: eXg Buddha/Arizona/Bread God Your in-game name: Vibe Your SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:0:63191509 In-game name of reportee: eXg Buddha SteamID of reportee (https://steamid.io/):STEAM_0:1:50942375 Date & Time of incident: Over the Course of the past 30 days. Timezone: Eastern Standard Time Zone What happened? (include any proof): Over the course of the past 30 days Buddha has been involved in many different issues regarding multiple servers. This report is a compilation of evidence regarding these incidents. A punishment is needed for this player, whether it be a ban or removal of rank. Buddha you need to take a break from this server and its community and I think this is the only way you will understand that. These incidents are not in any order and most have nothing to do with the other, but when combined, show the actions of a person who is not suited for a management position at the current time. He has done good things for DarkRP, but with the frequency of issues involving this player it is time for him to step down. Mental Health is a very serious matter and in the current state of the generation it should be treated very seriously. Buddha has said recently that this community is all he has, if that is the case then I think Buddha should take a step back from the community for a period of time and realize what life has to offer. No online community is worth being the only thing you have. Depression, Anxiety, and other mental health issues affect a high % of the US populace. Treatment can come in many different shapes and forms, but the end goal is for the person to realize that life can be whatever you make it. The actions, statements, and behavior shown by Buddha in recent time shows a person who needs a break from the online world. While on this break I think talking to his close friends in TS is okay, but by playing a manager role in the community he has to always be professional and the spotlight is on him at all times. People with anxiety can feel many conflicting situations in circumstances like this and it is my opinion that someone who has anxiety and who has undergone treatments that help is always there. I have no idea what your personal life is Buddha but getting out more and doing stuff in the real world could be very beneficial. [Link to the Thread] When it comes to reports on the server Hacking is one of the biggest and this thread was no exception. The final verdict was that Buddha was not hacking but that verdict was reached after 9 days of waiting for the staff's team decision. I've spoken to multiple people in the community group and the verdict was that this report really affected you. You have stated that you have an eating disorder and with the anxiety of this report on top of that, the report left you suffering while the decision was discussed. Some players don't know this but you have had multiple aliases during your time on Garnet (Arizona, Bread God, Vagabond, and Xan Wader) . Back during your times known as Arizona and Bread God multiple people didn't really like you and saw you as a minge. These past altercations I believe had a lasting affect on you. You wanted people to like you. Most people feel the same way, but when in combination with your anxiety it can take its toll on a person. I understand wanting to be liked by everyone and trying to be as selfless as possible. I think it is this want to please everyone that eventually leads you on your route to become a manager. As stated in the introduction section you have done good things for DarkRP and no DarkRP player will deny that. Until recently a majority of the player base liked you and you didn't really cause any issues. You've played MRP off and on while you played Garnet but this recent outing into the MRP community is where most players can mark a decline in your community reputation. Some players wondered why you would want to involve yourself in another server while being manager of another, but no one really cared. Your decision in factions and friends is questionable, but we have no choice in that matter. Frogmen have had their ups and downs, but you joined during the controversy concerning racist remarks. I won't delve further into that topic as it does not play a key role. This negative spotlight already on your faction brought more attention onto yourself. Multiple spectates later and the evidence was cataloged and then the report was made. 5 pages of replies followed. The community feedback was tremendous. Hacking reports are a special case where community feedback can only do so much. The evidence is the evidence and for most people it spoke for itself. A week later and a breakthrough is seen. There was possible lag and it made the evidence not usable. Some players saw this as you getting off based on a technicality, but the decision was made and there was no going back. Your reputation took a massive hit and the community began to see you in a different light. With your reputation taking a hit you went into a defensive mode of trying to make everyone happy again. Several weeks after the report was denied and you were acquitted of hacking you post this screenshot as a status. You commented on this and said it was a joke and you were trying to make a joke of the situation to try to make people think of it as a meme. When it comes to hacking accusations people don't tend to forget. A lot of the current player base won't know this but back on the original CS Desert run there was a Ranger called Hendrix. Everyone thought he was fishy and one day we caught him. Certain veterans still talk about him to this day. When it comes to memes in the community they usually are just harmless little jokes. Jackal's Forehead is a prime example. Even Jackal himself can joke about it and we all have a good laugh. Making a joke about yourself hacking merely weeks after the report is not a good decision. You might have regretted it and all that, but as I'll touch on later in the report you always post something, and then once the community disagrees you immediately say "I'm sorry I shouldn't have posted it." Above is another example of you making light of a serious matter. Hacking in an online game is one thing, but the manipulation of a minor and the sheer act of pedophilia is disgusting. This should never be joked about but you felt the need to post this a couple of days at most after the Panini incident was public. I can no longer find this on the forums so I don't know if you said anything on the matter after this. Joking is fine and no one is gonna prohibit it, but it has a place and a time. As the matter was possibly criminal I decided to not even make a Garnet Times on the matter. Making jokes like this seem like a way to try and lighten everyone's mood and I understand that. The situation was a very serious one and not one to be made light of. The backlash was severe on Panini and he deserved every bit of it. You making jokes seems like another way you try and take the attention off of your misdeeds. I don't speak for everyone in the community obviously, but Panini's actions are disgusting and I don't understand how someone who read those messages could try and make a joke of it. As stated above jokes have a time and a place and sadly this wasn't the latest occurrence of a "joke" of yours not quite hitting the mark. [Link to Thread] This report was made a few days ago and shows another example of your joking matter causing more harm. On the thread, there is a video of you "jokingly" saying "I think you've made a serious mistake on this one. You are now on my hit list to kill." When someone else in the channel laughs like its a joke you said: "I'm very serious." Throughout the thread, you backpedal and contradict yourself on multiple occasions. The report was accepted and the punishment was served. By using this post in this thread I don't think you should be punished for the same thing again. I am using it as circumstantial evidence to provide a history of events with the same behavior. While the thread was active you made multiple replies trying to save face it seems. The repeated actions you have taken recently of making these "jokes" only for them to completely backfire does not make a whole lot of sense to me. The only reason I can assume why you keep doing this ties back into your want to be accepted by all. Some people will just not like you in life. It sucks, but it's the truth. You will never be able to please everyone and I think this is a very important character feature a manager can have. Past executives like Phantom have had to make some hard decisions. Some people called them retarded and negative reacted to them, but they didn't let that affect them. They took the hate and moved on. You like to say that you have changed and I see that, just not in the same way you do. The Buddha I knew in DF with PumpOG was hated. But he didn't go back on what he said. He took the hate. You might not have liked it, but no one likes to be hated. Do you think Kendal liked it when everyone hated him? Do you think Jackal likes to be known as the manager who wiped every faction? They were hated by some, but liked by others. Both of these players I feel like have had a better experience when they were not an executive than when they were. Since Jackal was a manager he led MARSOC and Marines well and started to talk with his old friend like Tayler again. Jackal's anger has gone done a lot since then too. If you have ever played a game with Jackal you know how explosive he can be in comms. Since he stepped back from MRP and his executive role his temper has lessened and I feel like the same could be true for you Buddha. Recently Fetn has posted several topics about mental health and the community has been truly incredible in their response, but an online forum can only do so much. [Link to Thread] [Link to Thread] These two posts are just a few more examples of the same behavior Buddha has shown recently. From backtracking, to deflecting then apologizing. As I stated in the opening paragraph in this "report" I think stepping back from the community could prove to be exceptionally beneficial for the mental health of Buddha. I don't think Buddha will step back on his own accord and the only true way this can happen is if the punishment of some sort is handed out. Garnet is an incredible community, but it does have its ups and downs. I've taken several breaks from the server. One when I was removed from Vega for being a minge and the main time when I was community banned for a month. I had no access to forums or the servers. I still talked to people who played, but we played different games, talked about different stuff. It was during this that I met my ex and got my job. I can say that the month I was banned was a really good time in my life. Being online all the time and dealing with all the drama on Garnet can take its toll. I know it's a global pandemic and there is not a whole lot to do outside, but you'd be surprised. Recently I started going on jogs most days and started to learn new tricks cooking. My friends and I recently got Jackbox games which have been a blast every time we play. Gaming is fun and we can all agree to that, but when it comes to your mental health, it's an easy choice. These kinds of issues could haunt you your whole life if you let them consume you. Life is all about living. I have not talked to Buddha personally since this whole fiasco started, but I've heard from multiple people who have that he just seems depressed. Depression is like an infection. If you don't try and treat it once you identify it, it eventually spreads and consumes you.
  11. Ignore the mrp statement and just fucking read his app.
  12. -1 The server is not about killing everything that moves. The droids are the cannon fodder of the sith. The server is about the scenarios and role playing if you want to just gun everything down go to mrp.
  13. Starting April 11th 11:00 PM this menu is in effect for Passive RP on the server.
  14. Name: Vinz Age: 20 Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:63191509 Playtime [/playtime in game]: | 91st LCPL 7807 Vinz has played for 10:38:39. Position you are applying for: CDR Blitz Leadership/SWRP experience: I've lead multiple factions on Garnet's MRP server and held high officer positions on other Roleplay centered servers What is your availability [Timezone/schedule/etc..]: EST and currently with the Covid 19 shutting down my Job I'm available 8-10 hours 5-6 days a week. Do you have a microphone [Required]? Yes Briefly describe the lore of RANCOR and the commander you are applying for: The 3 RANCOR commanders (Havoc, Blitz and Colt) were the commanders of the RANCOR battalion oversaw the final training process of the clone troops on the planet Kamino. As stated before the three commanders work together in close relation to high command in overseeing the final training process of the clone cadets on the planet. While stationed on Kamino the battle of Kamino occurred and the RANCOR Battalion played a role in the defence of Tipoca City. During the final stages of the battle both Commander Havoc and Commander Colt perished while Commander Blitz led a squad three advanced recon force troopers to attack several Trident Drills. Why should you be selected as a commander? [Minimum of 2 paragraphs]: While I have no experience leading a faction on star wars, I've played a couple different starwars servers and I've had a lot of fun. Some had good leadership and fun RP while others did not. Playing on those servers where the leaders and the RP were unbearable at times I know how it feels and the damage it can do to a server. Currently our server is doing great and the majority of people are having and blast and I don't want to see the same thing happen to another promising server. Like I stated above I have leadership experience in multiple servers where RP was a focus. During those times my factions had a lot of fun and success. Leadership is great trait to possess while growing up. Whether it was needed during a group project or later on while in the workforce and you become a manager. Being a leader is necessary in most people's lives. While I was growing up in a rural town in the middle of nowhere we had a small community and everyone kinda knew each other. I played sports like soccer and football where I was a team captain. I also was the leader in most of my group assignments. I've been a natural leader and it runs in my family. We are all loud about our ideas and have strong skin. I've always been selfless and took a lot of the brunt force of a lot of issues for others, it is because of this that I don't let what other people think of me deter my judgment too much. That doesn't mean I don't listen to criticism, but when someone criticizes me I listen, I understand it, and I use their criticisms to structure my future decisions. With all these traits combined I feel like I would make a great RANCOR Commander. Describe what you think your role in RP would be [2 paragraphs minimum]: As a RANCOR Commander my role in RP would be to uphold the standards up the battalion. Keeping the standard high will also uphold the image and stability of the faction and server as whole. While progressing through the ranks I want players to look up the RANCOR Battalion as a beacon of what they could be with enough tough work and dedication. The RANCOR Battalion should be a gleaming torch that leads the rest of the republic in both standard and prestige. When RP situations arise the RANCOR should set examples for the rest of the server to uphold and stand by. By allowing the RANCOR Battalion's standards to fall and become a dim flicker it would have horrible aftershocks felt throughout the entire server. RP is what will keep this server alive and thriving. If RANCOR does the right thing and RP's properly it will allow everyone else to have a good time. At the end of the day people play on this server ot have fun. RPing can be the most fun a person has while playing GMOD, but when down incorrectly it can kill a person's attitude towards the game and the server as a whole. The community is what keeps servers like this one alive and with the right people bearing the torch for others to look up to the community and follow that and have an amazing time playing the server. Do you understand that you may be removed from your position should you fail to uphold the standards and requirements of this role? Of Course
  15. Currently sleeping but expect a garnet time tomorrow on this situation
  16. Me and Jackal just tested this. He shot the back of humvee 3 times and killed me. Either the fix has not been added to the server or it didn't work. When it comes to kidnaps I think it makes total sense from an RP perspective. Very rarely would SOC personal prefer to be out in the open instead of in a closed car with a hostage/VIP. When it comes to raids it could go either way. "Stealthy" raiding has gone out the window in recent times and they get called out usually before the raid even starts. I think with vehicles it could be fun to sorta use them as shields in a raid and could have some combat advantages. When it comes to the RP aspect some forces use vehicles when breaching into a compound/area and sometimes they go for a more stealthy approach. Personally I think RP will never really be mainstream on garnet and things shouldn't be based around strictly RP purposes.
  17. There you go fixed it. Also idk how servers work but back on cs desert we would have 10's of vehicles driving around at one time so idk why it runned good then but could be detrimental now. If you or someone could explain that to me then it might change my point of view.
  18. Description : Change the current vehicle rules and Vehicles in general Reasoning : Currently the rules only allow for a maximum of 6 for the US and 5 for RU. The rule currently is that only one vehicle per faction can be spawned in. That makes since but then the vehicles have an absurd respawn time of 30 minutes. I know garnet does not want to have vehicles like they were before (Even though it would give people a way to spend their in game money and possibly pay real currency in the donation store). With the respawn time for vehicles being 30 minutes it sucks when a sniper can shoot my tire and instant kill the driver. Currently humvee that the US has flips constantly and can barely go up the hills. The ATVs, trucks, and vans we had on the original map felt good and traveled around the map good. The hitbox and damage system of the cars is absorb as well. When I'm transporting troops on my car and have like 6 people alt e’d on my hood but when he shoots the back tire I (the driver) is instantly killed). With the implementation of these changes it will bring back the fun times we had with vehicles and actually make them useful. Ways to Fix : Fix the hitbox issue, Change the respawn time to 7-10 minutes and Change to old vehicles. Additional Information : N/A
  19. If you don’t want him punished why make a report
  20. If the map is changed back to Chaharikar are vehicles being added back a possibility.
