[MRP] Updated Disguised Rules

Recommended Posts

Hello,

This is not a guide or a tutorial. This is just to get some important unwritten information out the way, concerning all Tier 1 factions (DF & ISI).

To get the main ground Rule out of the way, you may only disguise during peacetime.

Now ideally, this entire post would not exist if we had gotten a fully functioning in game system like a disguise NPC (reference below) but until we do have a full proof solution, here are the RP rules for infiltration as it concerns Delta Force and ISI.

Around 3 months ago, there was an update on the infiltration rules agreed upon by Me, @Shwade, @Fonza and Smity. We had a long talk specifically concerning infiltration rules and how to counter metagame. Currently, the biggest issue with our RP on the server is that people generally play a game of pretend and act like they don't know key information. The biggest example is infiltration RP, which is completely dysfunctional because any dumbass can see that a fellow disguised US Soldier / Taliban Soldier is not actually a real soldier due to their voice, PFP and job color. There are many issues with RPing like this, for example MP will likely focus and subconsciously monitor disguised players closer or make actions that they otherwise may not have done to normal players. Now to counteract this, in our meeting we agreed upon many different rules that aim to make the infiltrating experience more engaging and manageable. Please note, this system isn't flawless, and there are still some ways players can actively metagame. However, I am taking Dillan's approach and literally setting all of this in stone so people can use it for reference in the future.

MAIN RULES

1. You are allowed to use the /setjob function to disguise your player model as the enemy team.

With this, you MUST have the setjobbed player immediately return to their exact position that they were in before the jobset. This was to prevent metagame so players could not see the job colors. The only problem that I don't have a solution to is the global country's radio. My advice is, use common sense. The lines get very blurry here especially considering it is hard to prove if an infiltrator is metagaming but just a general rule of thumb, unless you obtain a hostile radio in RP by the means of kidnapping a soldier and taking their radio, you may not use information from the radio.

2. You are allowed to infiltrate as other players, so long as you have their name and rank down in the intelligence log.

To disguise as someone, you must know their name, rank and faction (NRF). You can only Impersonate players that have been added to the intel document and haven’t been killed via kidnapping. YOU DO NOT have to ask for permission to use the players names. As soon as you get a person's NRF, EVERY SOC / Base Faction WO1+ is free game to be disguised as. Infiltration as base faction enlisted doesn’t need to be on the intel log.

3. If killed while infiltrating or killed on the way back to Base, You are not to be infiltrating for the next 24 hours

(IMPORTANT NOTE) : Being RDM'ed from the opposite side you’re infiltrating doesn’t enact a cooldown, so if a random Tali CSC fuckface shoots you in your face while knowing you are a friendly, you do not have a 24 hour cooldown) HOWEVER, if you die in a genuine matter (e.g AFG Raids US and Tali CSC fuckface kills an ISI disguised as a GB not knowing they are ISI, then the kill is valid. You are now on cooldown). An important tool while being disguised is using communication, and having other teammates notify everyone in your country that there are people disguising. However, if the person who killed you acknowledged that you were a friendly, then that is blatant RDM and the cooldown would not be in effect.

4. You are allowed to change your Profile Pictures of players you disguise as, so long as the NAME, RANK and FACTION have been put into the the Intel log.

(CRUCIAL NOTE, IF YOU ARE CAUGHT DEFAMING, BREAKING RULES OR IMPERSONATING PLAYERS IN OOC WHILE FULLY DISGUISED, A PUNISHMENT WILL OCCUR. IF YOU ARE PUT IN A STAFF SIT, YOU MUST CHANGE YOUR NAME BACK TO YOUR MAIN ONE. IF YOU NEED TO MAKE AN INTERACTION IN OOC, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR NAME ACCORDINGLY)

5. For intelligence gained from infiltration to be deemed acceptable, the infiltrator must make it back to base without dying.

MP Rules

MP is the most important piece to this entire system, as it can make or break infiltration as a whole. With all of these resources provided to disguisers, it is possible to fully infiltrate and even convince players subconsciously that you are a friendly. From the job color, to names to even a player's profile picture, you now have the ability to successfully infiltrate. As it concerns MP, there are several side rules that were created which are as follows

1. ID Checks should only happen at the entrances or if a player is seen in a restricted area

BIGGEST, BIGGEST important piece of information. You MAY NOT just walk up to a player and request an ID check because you deem them "suspicious". You must have a valid reason in RP for the id check. During this id check, the MP member and the Disguised player will roll. If the disguiser passes the role, they will be assumed to be apart of that side. If failed, the player can be interrogated. Roll modifiers are in effect while disguising.

Hopefully, fingers crossed this will spice up infiltration and maybe give a small kick back to the current non-existent RP on our server, but if you have any questions please let me know on discord. The main goal was to make a small shove towards idealistic RP where the RP is not make believe and can successfully trick the average player.

TLDR ; DISGUISERS CAN NOW USE /setjob to change their model, they can change their PFP to impersonate in RP, and if you die while disguised there is a 24 hour cooldown.

+1

Though, I think, instead of giving people perms to change their jobs we could add a disguise tool ad d on from the workshop onto those classes so they can easily change player models
