Why should we choose you over other applicants?:  (left space for readability, I can change this)      Why should you choose me over other applicants? An all-time great interview question. I think you should choose me over other applicants because I have previous experience, I'm a mature adult, I care deeply about the safety and health of the community and protecting our younger server members, and I think I bring a lot of fun personality to the table as well. Getting into a little bit of what I mean when I say previous experience, A question you might ask yourself is: "What relevance does moderating TTT have to DarkRP?" I think it's a valid concern considering the different demands for the two roles, and it's true, I would have a lot to learn, but I'm not going in blind. I'm keenly aware of all of the server rules (though I occasionally make mistakes, who doesn't?) and I have proven experience using the various LUA user interfaces that are used in Gmod moderation.       Maturity, to me, is so much more than just about how many years you have under your belt, though, learning and growing does come with the territory of age. I care about the feelings and emotions of other users inside the game. To me, community building is so much more than just "conversing with random strangers online." It's sharing empathy with each other and working to build and maintain friendships. The people closest to me on the server know how important it is for me to stick up for my friends and to help make the space an enjoyable and nontoxic place to be. We all know how DarkRP works. Being a bit crass is a part of the game, but we should also respect other people and their role-playing experience. I mentioned earlier how it's a focus of mine to protect the younger members of the server. I think this is absolutely paramount. I'm sure we've all heard stories about people behaving inappropriately around minors in this game. Considering the large number of players who are on the younger side, this *must* be a priority. Protecting younger community members means speaking up for them and telling older users to respect boundaries and behave like adults.      Another important facet of quality moderation, in my view, is having a good sense of when to let things go. It's important to remember that we're all human, and we all make mistakes. I believe anyone can change and that people do deserve chances to show that. I think a good moderator uses rule-breaking as a teachable moment. Not only is it better for the overall health of the server to have a measured hand, but it gives people a chance to grow. As I mentioned earlier, it's no shock to anyone that Gmod has a fairly young playerbase outside of the OGs. I think it's important to take a pause and ask "how was I when I was younger? How might I have behaved?" I think it's really so vital to impart lasting lessons and empathy and charitability even to people who have demonstrated poor behavior. Bridging that gap and trying to turn would-be rule-breakers into long-time players and community members is a priority and I would do my utmost to ensure that I handle every user's complaint with brevity, understanding, and warmth.      In closing this section, I'd just like to also add that it's really been such a pleasure getting to know and enjoy the company of the great people who play on the server. You guys are rockstars, and you've given me the best possible DarkRP experience a person could ask for!  Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, Include details: Sometime in 2023 when I was just getting into playing Gmod (again)  I was using a bhop script to use in sandbox and locally-hosted prophunt matches with friends. I made the mistake of having the lua script injected into my Gmod when joining a public server, I was able to get unbanned after explaining the situation though. Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: None How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: My schedule is very much open for the time being and foreseeable future. So, in short, plenty. If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod?: Before I got sick, I loved to go hiking and play soccer. I love composing and performing music. If I could get into any career field I would definitely want to be a musician. I also like working on art projects like sketching, painting, knitting and sewing.
