Server Recruits In addition to the Clone Trooper : Rifleman, which will be reserved for disruptive members who cannot be part of neither 212th or 501st, I had followed up to a very smart suggestion by @AlexConway to revert our server to an older system under which recruits could choose between 212th or 501st as their entry faction Upon completing /quiz, the following prompt will pop up! Secure Communications Members of Special OPs aswell as Navy will now be able to utilize the command /sc (or /SecureCommunications) in order to encrypt their voice when transmitting audio locally to other players on the server. Between members connected to the same channel of communications, microphones will be heard clearly, however, for all others, they will hear a very distorted chatter. NPC Targeting System Revision NPCs that are damaged by players will begin targeting them, no matter the distance of engagement, this way players can no longer get cheap shots on NPCs from across the map Before For context, this man was just merked.   5. I am spending an hour or two today looking over re-implementing /r or /squad to make sure it works. When it comes to Halos, it seemed to not be worth the amount of effort required to implement it properly. FPS loss is absolutely obscene and wouldn't be viable for well over half our server when the server is populated.

Directly ripped off and ported from our SWRP server: During events, GMs may now place/give out C4 entities to event characters in order to be planted; or simply planted themselves. Planted C4s can have varying times (WIP) - locked to 5 minutes at this time Regular players will have a 10% chance to succesfully defuse the bomb, with a further rarity of outright causing an explosion due to cutting the wrong wire. Bomb-Specialist certified players will soon have a 95% chance to defuse a bomb in 5 seconds

Weaponry Modular Weapon System I had made heavy modifications to our weapon base to allow weapon variant subgroups, IE: instead of turning an AR-15 into an M4 by only allowing you to use certain attachments, I have made it to where by code, certain bodygroups are enforced, while others are optional.   14. In all honesty, I was always gearing towards making embassy into a town, or maybe shipment (on the map Delta) but the idea of simply converting the afghan base into a village is so fucking unique that i'm absolutely down to do it on the next iteration.
  15. I want to start by again, addressing the situation that happened in the community and express that I was incredibly disappointed in what has taken place at the time you had left. I have expressed to you that in your upcoming appeal I would be much happier if you had JUST included a simple apology, as opposed to pointing fingers at in an attempt to partially justify the actions you took. I mentioned this to you explicitly earlier in our chat. I understand that nothing that happened back then was all that positive, but lets move on and not hold grudges. With all that being said, we have had a dozen recent private conversations, which have all proven to be helpful, and you have GENUINELY helped me to a HUGE degree as of the past month or two; far more than alot of the current staff - whether it comes to coding or mapping. I do appreciate your follow-up apology which goes a long way towards making things right. I acknowledge your significant contributions to the community over the years and in my own opinion you are the best admiral the server has had to date. Being that in my opinion, your overall impact on the server has been net positive ESPECIALLY AS OF RECENT, I personally look forward to you joining back with all the knowledge you have gathered from the servers you have played while taking a step back from Garnet. +1 from me

Defusable Bomb Thank you @Theos for bringing light to an old freaking entity that's been forgotten about by GMs after MANY hours of work Defusable bombs now have a 5 minute timer, as opposed to the previous 10 minutes. The radius of defusable bombs has been significantly nerfed from encompassing nearly the entire map, to encompassing an area akin to MHB on Anaxes Non-EOD ceritifed players will have a 10% chance to successfully defuse the bomb, with a 1 minute cooldown between defusal attempts Non-EOD ceritifed players will have a 75% chance to successfully defuse the bomb, with a 1 minute cooldown between defusal attempts Lastly, added an effect for when the bomb detonates. @Theos wants it bigger, i say no. EOD Certification As stated above, going on duty will allow you to defuse bombs at a higher success rate, and other than that, the model has been updated to the latest pack we are using - thank you @Hoal for the reminder.   17. I understand that you and and a select group of players from the server believe that relinquishing executive control over faction leadership would be beneficial for the server. However, I fully disagree with the sentiment, and this is NOT a change I will implement, no matter how many people attempt to refute my sentiment with "what ifs". I can only recommend the select group of players switched over to another MRP server if they wish for this type of control, although I don't believe ANY OTHER server offers what's being asked. Here are my responses: Firstly, removing staff votes from reserves may not necessarily eliminate grudge holding behavior or friend group biases. While it is true that staff members MAY sometimes hold a bias against players, the exact same argument could be said for faction leaders (officers and commanders). In fact, faction leaders ARE 100% MORE LIKELY TO HAVE THEIR OWN BIAS TOWARDS THEIR OWN FRIENDS AND MEMBERS. Secondly, handpicking new members without attending tryouts could lead to the recruitment of unskilled players who may not be a good fit for the faction - or outright create friend groups, which in every single scenario, has proven to be a disaster for the server. It accomplishes the exact opposite of building a large, friendly community, and instead, results in player isolation. Player skills will develop over time, and it's important new players learn more about the server and meeting a set standard being being accepted into a faction. If all factions were equal, I would make them all equal in loadouts as well, there is no longer a purpose for Tier 1,2,3 factions. They're all the damn same at this point. Lastly, while allowing faction leaders to select their own successors may seem like a good idea in theory, it has almost always led to poor leadership and instability within factions. It is important to have some level of oversight and accountability to ensure that factions are being led effectively and fairly. In the past this was the case, and we ended up with a nearly dead server. The truth is, a player resigning from the community does not care nearly as much as the staff team for the continuation past their leave - and will not be as likely to select a good candidate. Overall, while I understand the desire to give more control over to faction leaders, however, I don't think your proposal would lead to desirable outcomes. Locking, and denied. PS would love to see some actual content suggestions in the future, to make the server fun for vets and new players alike, as opposed to ones that encourage friend groups and anonymity.   19. Following the author behind the Anaxes V2.5 edit axing his map with a broken update, I've decided to start editing Anaxes myself. At first this looked like a very fun venture, HOWEVER, I very clearly learned I will be spending the next 6 hours fixing the map to be able to be compiled and used properly (without issues) in the first place . So there you go peeps, this is a total of roughly 13 hours of work in one single day, half of which was dedicated to fixing the map, and the other half to actually making some edits to the map!   24. Hey buddy, I figured I would follow up to your post. Having all 18+ staff would definitely be a smart move, however, with age comes IRL commitments, and our older staff unfortunately do not have nearly as much time to dedicate to our servers. I would argue somebody who is older than 15 is perfectly capable of 99.9% of the staffing duties, whereas this situation is an EXTREME rarity. Our management team is currently composed of ALL adults thankfully, so we are all able to work together effectively in dealing with tough situations. I appreciate you for making this comment
