  1. So this post is just pure toxicity, misinformation, and exaggeration in one thread. Yikes. There's not much for me to say that hasn't already been said, but there's one thing I think not many people know that I would like to make clear. The reason that I disagreed with Aura's appointment to GenLt is because when he left in the first place back in late march. I gave him a weeks notice before removal after I messaged him on discord (and he's been online on discord at that time). After a week without getting on or even replying, I put him on LT reserves, since he did once do stuff for the faction and I thought he might come back. Fast forward into May, I saw him in-game and in TS and I greet him, I ask him of why he disappeared, and he claimed it was because he wanted to spend more time with friends and irl, and didn't want to dedicate so much time to a Gmod server. Now it is summer and in the US, states are reopening, so unless I might be uninformed of a change in heart, him having a position which requires more time to the server might not be the best. I could be wrong, but that's just my rationale. I could go into depth about why this is just a massive shitpost, but I'm not wasting any breath on this post any further.
  2. While this was a good update overall in my opinion, I have one thing I want to quickly add. Instead of having, "Utilize the command /quiz for automated whitelisting or alternatively, use F4 menu and pick your desired nation's Recruit class!", I feel that it should be switched around to, "Use the F4 Menu and pick your desired nation's Recruit class, or alternatively utilize the command /quiz for automated whitelisting if there are no trainers!". Or anything along the lines of that, since it might give the impression that you should do /quiz rather than get a manual trainer.
  3. Bruh where's my @?? With all jokes aside tho, we'll miss you finger nugget, I've never seen somebody have as much vigor and cheeriness as you have. Good luck in your future endeavors my dude.
  4. Damn, see ya Whitebolt. It's been one hell of a ride with you. I've taken pride in watching you grow from a new/ inexperienced KST into a competent LT, and honestly I wish I could've seen you rise through the ranks more. Good luck in your future endeavors though, we'll miss you! /me salutes
  5. I like the meetings boys, let's keep them coming! But one question I have is what is the punishment for not attending the country meetings without informing the management team? Since I believe there will be different punishments varying on the officers/SOC members position in their faction.
  6. I pretty much don't care if it's only a MOS change. It would only require me to go through every single document for 2GA and change it to SVR. Nothing difficult, just slightly tedious. I'm not going to +1 or -1 solely because I don't really care if it get accepted or not, however, I will be ready for it to get accepted if need be.
  7. Wait, why does Anakin have his lightsaber out in the second picture?
  8. With all due respect, this is just a flat-out retarded decision. There are many negatives to removing reserves like this, and honestly, most of them require common sense to see. Before I start, this is coming from a BASE FACTION standpoint, as this is where this new policy has the most negative effects. Firstly, removing reserves just limits our pool for anymore experienced officers, and officers in general. For example, if it weren't for SSP or LT reserves, me nor @Millerjerm2 would be in the positions we are now. This just shows that having LT reserves is beneficial to a faction, as if they come off reserves, it can be a major help to the faction, and of course, these people are typically active members of the server. Also, as if this was obvious enough already, I dont just have experienced warrant officers sitting around, waiting to get promoted, I have to find a person with potential and then teach them leadership, ways of the server, etc. Yet, if somebody comes off LT reserves, then it basically allows me to have a decently seasoned officer and new one easily. Also, if ANYONE has spent time being an officer in an entry faction, then they know that it is time consuming, exhausting, and requires care and effort. Consistently doing tryouts, making sure enlisted (and other officers) are disciplined, and staying on for hours just interacting with the enlisted and other members of the server in general is not particularly an easy job, and in my opinion, most people in an entry faction should deserve reserves with various exceptions (they got to LT and left immediately, acted retarded while being an officer, and other along the lines of this). Then, why should somebody become an officer if they wont have anything to show for it? Why should anybody be LEADING that faction, if all they're going to get is a somewhat good reputation and a name in a hall? It just makes no sense. For example. most former marshals have led 2GA for around a little more than a month and left, the only two exceptions are Flame and VBSA. Also, most of these former marshals still play the server, and the older ones don't really play the server much anymore and for the most part, and have disappeared with the exception of maybe one or two. In the end, the new reserves wipe was done to reinforce an outdated purpose that obviously won't change the server for the better.
  9. When I first chose this profile pic. I was interested in/studying Roman history. I decided to change Octavian (Augustus Caesar) to show this. I never changed it since I'm just too lazy and dont really want to change it.
  10. Yeah, I'll create a google doc and start coming up with some questions. I'm thinking we have around 10 or more questions, but I'll think on that a bit more. Once the 2GA training video is done, we can review it. However, if we create a video that could be used in /quiz, then army would have to create their own training video, and it's up to them if they want to create it. Unless the video is neutral and could be used to train for both army and 2GA, but then I would have to edit the current videos script and such. However, that wouldn't be too much of a problem.
  11. At this point, everybody is beating a dead horse. What was needed to be said was said. After the first two pages, most other -1s are just people saying "you're toxic" or "you're immature" and shit. It's just toxic and unnecessary, since after that page 2, it was simple repeats of those same statements. I understand that Xploding has deserved this community ban, but we should just wait for the appeal to get denied since it's clear he isn't going to be unbanned.
  12. I mean, I'd prefer that only Soldier was given to the people who pass the revamped /quiz, as it would allow officers to differentiate those who were manually trained. Since then the new /quiz would simply replace manual training, which I dont want the goal to be. However, I agree with everything you said
  13. Description: The current state of the /quiz system needs to be reworked to better suit it's purpose, and have overall a better impact of the Server. Reasoning: The main problem is that the system hands out whitelists too easily, as the majority of the questions can be answered by using common sense. After the quiz has been completed, the new player is given the new support class, which only provides a pistol and medkit. This makes the server hard to play on during war, and overall makes it less enjoyable. While it is true that it is harder for the new player to mass, it provides them with more incentive to attempt mass, or just outright leave. I believe that the system also impedes RFR/DI’s ability to train those people, as I have experienced that it is harder to train that new player. This is due to the fact that the officers or SOC members have to hunt down the enlisted and inform them that they need to be trained. This causes confusion. However, I believe if the /quiz system is correctly changed, that it can be extremely useful in some scenarios. Firstly, it is imperative that the /quiz system contain slightly more difficult questions. For example, a question that could work is, “during war, are you allowed to shoot the enemy inside our base?” Any questions that take more than common sense to answer correctly. This will force new players to think as it may not be obvious to them. This will not only insure that they are properly trained, but will also allow them to retain more of the information. The revamped quiz system can also contain questions pertaining to the recruitment video that will be mentioned later on. Secondly, I propose that we implement a short recruitment video prior to recruits taking the quiz. This video would be brief, but contain all the information they will need to know to get started playing on the server. This would include but not limit to the server rules, factions rules, as well as some helpful tips to get started. This will also enable us to ask more in depth questions in the /quiz to ensure that they were paying attention during the course of the video. For clarification, the video WOULD NOT be used to replace training, if there is RFR/DS available, then manual training will always be an option. Also, once the recruit has passed the quiz, they will be given the soldier whitelist, rather than the support, as the support would make the server extremely unenjoyable. Although it is true that it will be easier for them to mass, it would also decrease the chances of the player outright leaving the server altogether because they only have a pistol/ medkit. The reason I believe the support whitelist should NOT be given to the person after the quiz is to show that the person was not trained by a RFR/DS, and still requires training when needed. Additional Information: None.
  14. I never normally +1 or -1 staff apps because I dont think my opinions matter that much as a non-staff member. However, I'm going to +1. As Miller has proved not only to me, but to most of RU that he is a capable person on handling certain dilemmas. He has shown me that he has such a creative capacity, that he is more than fit for the staff team. He works well with other people, understanding their perspective, rather than just stating his own side and invalidating all other opinions. As for his activity, it has drastically improved from when he was last staff. Most importantly, he is on during peak hours almost everyday, which is obviously a basic perquisite for staff, but this shows that his activity has improved from his last time as a staff member. Long story short, Miller is someone you can work with, and someone who can help the server with good ideas and suggestions. Good Luck.
  15. Granted, however she loves you a bit too much...
  16. Before I state my two cents, I have no grudge or anything against Rohan, considering I dont even know him. There are just some things that are aren't adding up. I'm not sure when appeals became apologies. There is very little in this appeal or the responses that explain why you should be unbanned. The "I have changed" or "I know I fucked up" or "I'm sorry" has been used countless times in the past from people who have been permanently banned before. Those appeals were denied very quickly, so why should Rohan be an exception? I believe it is also fair to state that when people say "he deserves a second chance", he proceeded to make another account to get VIP Mod. So this wouldn't even be a second chance, more a third one. He has made shitty decisions and people believe he shouldn't reap the full consequences of his actions. Overall, there is just blatant bias, and people willing to bend rules for their buddy. It's just a -1 for me.
  17. I barely know how to start this. When I first joined 2GA, I hadn't a clue in hell on how to do almost anything in a base faction. I've spent most of my career on Garnet in a SOC faction, but when Aidan asked if I wanted to come off reserves, I just thought "Why the hell not." After a 5 months, I now know how to decently lead a base faction, and I'm hopeful that I wont fuck it up. When I learned that you've had mental problems and serious IRL issues, I was seriously worried for you, and for a time, I wanted you to resign for your own mental well-being. Of course, I never stated this because I want marshal, the fact is, I was extremely hesitant to take it in the first place, but with your guidance, I felt more confident in leading. My only fear now is screwing up the legacy you've handed down to me. Farewell VB, I hope 2GA will be able to recreate the determination and motivation that you have shown us. /me Salutes. This was not necessary, if you dont know the man, dont post on the resignation post.
  18. Gildarts has stated months ago that 2GA is not allowed to blacklist, and I still have the impression that it is still a thing, if not, I would love to be updated. Also, he has the defender class, so blacklisting him is nigh impossible, the best we can do is rank lock and ignore him.
  19. +1 I agree with everything in the post, with the exception of giving it to DI/DS/RFR. If we give it to enlisted, then it could be similar to the problem with MP and will most likely be abused.
  20. You contradicted yourself in the last sentence. What I'm saying is that Binladin made a simple mistake, just like a person with a grenade does, and that is why it should be considered an acc. ban.
  21. He isn't asking for an unban, but a reduction to a 1 day acc. I'm not using the excuse that he is inexperienced, henceforth, he should be unbanned. I'm claiming that this situation was an accident by Binladin, and that his ban should be reduced to a 1 day acc. mass. The term, accidental ban, means that the mass was clearly a mistake, such as misclicking and throwing a grenade, and Binladin's actions was simply a mistake.
  22. Alright I'll put that in now, good luck on those exams.
  23. +1, I believe the ban should be reduced to a 1 day acc. ban, as it was a genuine mistake. I feel like there should've been better communication before the ban, as the ban was just slapped in soon after he got on again.
