  1. Sad to see you go mate Best of luck with school and hope to see you back soon!
  2. Description: [description of what you are suggesting, one paragraph minimum] This Christmas I thought it would be a great idea if we came together as a community, with a Secret Santa update! This would be a new and unique system where every player who joins during update is given the chance of participating, by giving any item they wish to a Secret Santa NPC, and by doing so, they will themselves be put into the pool of people to receive a present. Then on Christmas day, all players who have participated will then receive one of the presents in their inventory. Items can be anything, from a pistol, a can of beer, a RPG, a M202, a burger, some drugs, literally whatever you want! The idea is that for better or worse, you'd receive a gift from a fellow member of the community, and isn't that what Christmas is all about? Reasoning: [how would this benefit our server?] This would be a unique system which helps bring the community together, and a great addition to the Christmas Update! Additional Information: [Photos/Videos][/CODE] ^ This image was actually one I made a while back for Adric the singing shark. I thought it was appropriate for this suggestion, being about a community spirit.
  3. Congratulations to all of you who've helped make the server awesome over the last month. I've really enjoyed catching up with a lot of you, especially regarding the Halloween update, we've had a blast!
  4. To post an image on the forums, first you need to have a URL link which goes directly to that image (in other words, the link should end with .png or .jpg, etc). You can use websites dedicated to this which allow you to upload an image, giving you a link, or you can use other services like Steam or Discord - providing again that the link is publicly retrievable (anyone can click to view it). I'll go through my normal process for image hosting sites, Discord, and Steam: Using Dedicated Image Hosting Websites Step 1 - Go to your preferred image-hosting site (example below) and upload an image: Step 2 - Grab the link to your image. To do this you can either: Click on the 'Grab Link' button (although I've found this has bugged-out in the past on this particular site) Right-click on the image and click 'Open image in new tab', then copy the URL from the top of your browser When you have your link, it should end with the picture format (e.g. .png, .jpg, etc): Step 3 - Paste this URL into your forum post, and it will automatically convert the link into an image which you should be able to see: Step 4 - Make your post! Using Discord Step 1 - Post an image into a Discord channel (or find one you want to share): Step 2 - Right-click on the image and click on 'Copy Link': Step 3 - Paste this URL into your forum post, and it will automatically convert the link into an image which you should be able to see: Step 4 - Make your post! Using Steam Step 1 - Find an image that you want to share on Steam in your 'Content', then click on the image to view it: Step 2 - Right-click on the image and click 'Copy Link Address': Step 3 - Paste this URL into your forum post, and it will automatically convert the link into an image which you should be able to see: Step 4 - Make your post! Footnotes Think before you share! Does your images meet the forums rules / community guidelines? Do they contain any personal information in them? Is it something that is appropriate to share publicly? Think about what you intend to post before posting it. Self-Hosting Concerns - If you choose to self-host (have your own domain / website to host the images) have you made sure to wipe all metadata? Metadata is hidden data contained within an image which can include some personal information, and even your location coordinates (if taken on a phone). Hosting sites / social media sites wipe sensitive data automatically on upload, but if you self-host images then you will need to check and make sure this happens yourself. Longevity of Images - The images you post on the forums are not hosted here, they are linked to the original (hence the need for a URL). This means that if the original source of the image is deleted, it will no longer appear on the forums. This might be a consideration for the longevity of a forum post, if you intend on keeping the image viewable for a long-time.
  5. I appreciate the feedback on this, and actually there are some reasonable points made which I agree with. I'll see if I can offer some ideas: Very good point, I don't think anyone would want to loose money. I think the main purpose of this kind of system is to increase engagement and RP, so a buff to the money printer output would actually be useful to make sure nobody looses out. In all fairness, the money-printer output has remained the same for many years, despite in-game inflation, so a 10% increase (or the same as the NPC cut to counteract the highest-possible fee) would be ideal. This is actually something I hadn't thought about, and actually, I've always been a hard-line vanilla supporter as it happens - I even used to be against casinos, some new jobs, weapons packs lol. But I have come to realize that for a modern server to survive, there needs to be enough unique game play to separate it from every other server. I still reminisce over the good ol' days, but I think vanilla servers just can't survive anymore realistically. However, in-keeping with the no / low downloads, this system has no new assets (uses everything as-is) and would only require lua scripts.
  6. +1 You were a superb staff member, previous manager, and all-round great guy. Good luck mate!
  7. Description: [description of what you are suggesting, one paragraph minimum] Recently, I saw that people were discussing ideas of how printer farming could be made more engaging, and I had an idea - a 'Dirty Money' update to include money laundering. In the real world, criminals who print counterfeit money never actually spend the cash themselves; being caught with a handful of dodgy notes isn't worth risking their whole operation. So instead, the printed money is considered 'dirty money' which is then sold in bulk to a third party for clean and taxable income, albeit at a little less than its face-value (or in other words, they launder it - see Saul Goodman's explanation below). My suggestion would be to change the way printer farming works to reflect this, meaning that players collect 'dirty money' from printers. The dirty money can then be exchanged and transformed into 'clean money' by either: The use of a new Money Laundering NPC Players in 'legitimate' businesses (chefs, bartenders, etc) The Money Laundering NPC would be a default / backup, just in case other players aren't around to exchange dirty money with, but the fee / cut a NPC would take should be substantial enough that it shouldn't be seen as the first / best choice. Instead, players who want to offload their dirty money will prefer to find other players who are in a legitimate business, such as chefs and bartenders where they can negotiate a fee which is naturally competitive. So what would this look like in practice? You collect $10000 of 'dirty money' from a money printer, which is stored in the same way crack is stored for a meth manufacturer. A chat notification lets you know how much you have. You check with the local Money Laundering NPC but you don't really want to pay a hefty 10% fee that it offers, but it reminds you that other players' businesses might offer a lower fee. Luckily, you notice a cafe nearby called Los Pollos, so you decide to head over. You speak with the chef and verbally negotiate a fee of 5% for their services. While looking at them, you press 'E' to bring up a basic UI which asks you to enter the agreed fee for them to either accept or deny. The chef accepts, and $50 is deposited into their balance as a fee, with the remaining $9950 deposited into your balance. Now you have clean money, you can now pay income tax on it (YAY!) and spend it on. A bartender tells you you were overcharged by the chef, and next time he'll do it for a 4% fee. In theory, this could also work for other RP roles too where money could be considered 'dirty' and would therefore need to be laundered. Reasoning: [how would this benefit our server?] Makes money printer farming more engaging by adding an additional layer of RP Increases player interaction (through different roles working together) Creates a more realistic RP scenario Adds to a player-driven game economy Encourages players to leave their base in order to launder their money Encourages the use of lesser-used jobs such as a chef or bartender (which could now be quite lucrative) Additional Information: [Photos/Videos][/CODE]
  8. I remember there was a guy who made a really cool blackjack script to copy and paste text into the game chat, it was really creative! I found their origional forum post about it here: But yea absolutely, perhaps a player-job where you can be a blackjack dealer, and make money when punters loose? I'd love that for sure and it would add to the player-driven economy too
  9. Congratulations everyone! Superb team
  10. Some really sick updates, I love it!
  11. It was an absolute pleasure to have you around, a little bittersweet that I'm happy you got a great career opportunity, but sad to see you go... At least for now. Enjoy that retired tag.

I'm so sorry for the slow reply! It's been super busy recently with the new job and I've only just seen this 😅 But thank you, I'll definitely be back at some point when work calms down, it's just hard to say how long that might be. But it's been awesome working with you, Merk, and the rest of the team who are all doing a superb job! I don't do big retirement posts (feels a bit over the top) but the server is awesome, the team is superb, and I'm going to miss hanging out with everyone in the meantime. Cheers mate 🙂

  12. Neutral I think Shank and Gunner summarise my position on this actually, and they've made some decent points in my opinion. Just a couple of things I saw others mention which I thought would be worth touching-base on: If you click 'Disconnect' then you disconnect immediately. But if you were to just unplug your PC, your player and entities hang-around for a few mins from my experiences. I would argue that LTAP (Leaving to avoid punishment) doesn't apply in this scenario. It's certainly FailRP without a doubt, but the FailRP was leaving in-itself. You would have to rejoin, be brought to a sit, then leave a second time knowing that you'd been reported, for it to be LTAP in my eyes. Even No Intent to Roleplay (NITRP) isn't a good fit for this given that it's for when multiple different rules are broken, as opposed to one just one instance - you could otherwise argue breaking the vast majority of single rules is NITRP, so it's best to keep it separate I think there's a couple of options that would work best: Make a new rule specifically for 'Intentionally disconnecting during an RP scenario' which would also apply to mugs, being arrested, and a whole host of other things too. I'd add that this should not be overly harsh (must be proportional) and should not be up to staff discretion, as over time ban lengths exponentially increase when left unchecked (I think the average first-time racism ban is now like 5 consecutive life sentences when it actually started at a discretionary 2 week ban with typically a verbal warning first). Perhaps a system of incremental increases, by number the of previous bans, as a better solution? Shank's idea of delaying the de-spawn of entities for 5-10 mins after you disconnect would be a good solution, by eliminating the root-issue without the need for another rule and associated moderation
  13. ACCEPTED Thank you for your time and patience. After a careful review by our Operator Department, we have decided to accept your ban appeal. The decision to accept your appeal is due, but not limited to, the following: After reviewing the evidence from both PaereBrus and yourself, I have come to the conclusion that you were indeed trying your best to abide by the rules, and you avoided conflict unless either you or your party member was damaged first (or via other legitimate RP scenarios). With that said, there were at least two instances where you unintentionally RDM'd, by forgetting to join a party in order to defend your teammate. However, given that the evidence which you have provided disproves at least 2/4 of PaereBrus' screenshots, I believe this adds merit to your claim of innocence and so the other two will remain undetermined, given I cannot definitively say whether they were in defence of your team mate once again. I don't believe that PaereBrus has done anything wrong in the way they handled your reports; the evidence here has taken quite some time to prepare and analyse, and there are some areas which aren't totally clear without additional context / evidence. For that reason, no action will be taken against the staff member. You will be unbanned shortly. Thank you for your time.
  14. @Jesteruu Thank you for providing additional evidence, however as it stands, the clips you have provided don't disprove the evidence that PaereBrus has provided. I'll explain below: In your first clip, you aren't in a party with your team mate. You can see this by comparing your other clips which show both your health-bar and your team mates health-bar at the top of the screen, but isn't shown here. Therefore both kills would be considered RDM as you hadn't yet made a party. On top of that, it also doesn't tie-up with any of the log screenshots which PaereBrus has provided and is therefore a separate incident. Your second clip is valid, you did indeed defend your team mate. However it doesn't tie-up with any of the log screenshots which PaereBrus has provided and is therefore from a separate incident. Your third clip is also valid, and you defended yourself. However it doesn't tie-up with any of the log screenshots which PaereBrus has provided and is therefore from a separate incident. As it stands, it appears as though all four screenshots of the logs which PaereBrus has provided are RDM kills, but I'd like to offer you the opportunity to present any arguments or further evidence you wish to add before I make a final decision.
  15. @PaereBrus Thank you for uploading the evidence and providing an account of the situation. @Jesteruu While I appreciate that other players may have been breaking rules too, I need to establish the facts surrounding your own actions in order to form a judgement on whether or not your ban was valid. As such, and given the evidence provided, is there anything you would like to add which you feel should be taken into consideration? Note - rules other players have broken are not relevant to your ban appeal, you may wish to submit a player report separately using the linked format above if those incidents haven't been already handled in-game.
