  2. You guys have been killing it with the montages recently! We wanted to commemorate the incredible montages by creating a whole contest around it! Through this event, we hope to see incredible combinations and fire ass shit. This event will run for two weeks, from June 14th to June 28th at 11:59 PM EST! There are some rules involved. - Clips must be used from, of course, Garnet Gaming Military RP - The montage must be created in the timeframe I have provided, which is as of this announcement on June 14th to June 28th at 11:59 PM EST. - Old clips can be used though. - Proof of the montage being created during the timeframe MUST be provided. Any screenshot will do. - No toxicity in the montage itself. No pointing out a specific person and going "what a idiot" or putting anything controversal. - Infinite submissions ARE ALLOWED. All masterpieces will be taken into consideration and reviewed. - Submissions must be posted onto this thread, not on anything else. You will be graded on by certain criteria! Entertainment: How fun/sick the video is to watch. Creativity: What stylistic choices did you make? Length: Will the length of the video impact the quality? Quality: Love and care was poured into the project. Skill: Was something performed that was fucking sick? By the end of the timeframe, submissions will be taken into account and will be voted on. Only one prize will be handed out to the winner of the whole competition, which is... Interrogations, Kidnappings, and Assassinations/PK This post is to show all information that deals with Interrogations, Kidnappings, and the requirements that must be met to Assassinate a player. Interrogations To initiate an interrogation, you must either have kidnapped a player or have arrested a player. Once a player has been identified as the interrogator, only that person can ask questions and be the one to /roll. If the interrogator asks you to type all of your answers out, you must do so. You may not kidnap an AFK player, if a player intentionally goes AFK after they have been kidnapped then a sit can be called on that player for FailRP, additionally the kidnapper can ask 2 questions and will automatically get the information. The interrogator can ask as many questions as they wish, they must ask one question at a time, but are only allowed to use the /roll function 3 times. The person being interrogated must answer all questions, they do not have to tell the truth unless they lose the /roll. Only after a question has been said and answered may the one that asked the question initiate a /roll. When the interrogator /rolls the kidnappee must also /roll. If the interrogator wins the /roll with either a higher number or with their modifier, then the kidnappee must tell truthful information. If the kidnappee wins the /roll then the interrogator must believe that whatever the kidnappee said is true. A kidnapped person can only know information based on their security clearances. After every successful interrogation that player must submit any and all intel that they gained. All intelligence submitted must show proof of the intelligence gained, this means the player must either record the entire encounter or screen shot all information and submit it with a short recap of what intelligence you have gained. The bonuses are based on the rank of the officer they are asking about: O-1 | +5 roll O-2 | +5 roll O-3 | +5 roll O-4 | +6 roll O-5 | +8 roll O-6 | +10 roll O-7 | +11 roll O-8 | +12 roll O-9 | +13 roll O-10 | +14 roll O-11 | +15 roll Example O-2 DF member asks a Taliban CWO the name and rank of an O-3 in Taliban Base Faction. Taliban gives a fake name. A DF member initiates a roll and gets a 50, the Taliban members gets a 56. DF officer member gets a modifier of 15 on top of their 50 becoming a roll of 65. Taliban officer member gets a modifier of 5 on top of their 56 becoming a roll of 61. Additionally since the DF member asked for the name of an O-3 the Taliban gets an additional modifier, the Will Power Bonus, and an O-3 grants an additional 5 to the role, making their total roll a 66. Taliban won the role with their Modifier and Will Power Bonus meaning the made up name that was said now has to be deemed as a true statement for the DF officer. Assassinations/PK An Assassination or Player Kill (PK) means that a player's character has been killed. In order to properly assassinate someone, you must have information regarding their name 3 TIMES. For an PK to be confirmed, it must be brought up with one the admins of the server, with proof that it had happened. The person doing the assassination must advert 'Assassination Completed' after the kill has occurred, record it and then send the proof over. The consequences for getting assassinated are as follows. The player will be forced to change their name to a new one, allowed to change back to their regular name after 2 WEEKS. They will have to change their name to the voice of the assassin.

  9. Suggestion: Add drones to the server through certification only. Description: Fighting in MRP has stayed consistently the same throughout its history. Run and Gun, sniping battles, rocket blasts, the whole shabang. Information has always been key, but there has never really been a way to properly gain information about enemies whereabouts aside from seeing teammates get killed or fighting one person until you're down to low health. This is why I am suggesting something that could revolutionize the war on information; Drones https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198076062109/myworkshopfiles/?appid=4000 and at a measly 9 MB! Drones have been becoming a major part of wars in the past decade and have helped battles being won because people had information. This drone pack offers a whole array of drones to choose from, but some are way overpowered (one had a laser) and another was just downright impossible (a watermelon drone). For this server specifically, I am recommending just ONE for the moment. The Spy Drone. Super tiny, fast and with only 50 HP, makes it really easy to shoot down. Through a certification tryout, players will be able to access these drones through the underground section of each base by going up to a specially made NPC that would spawn the drone in front of them, with them controlling it. Once in the drone, the user can do whatever they want in it and find ways on how to better help their teammates during wars, raids or anything involving information. The drone doesn't have any guns, so shooting from it is impossible. Reason: Information is hard to get during anything fighting related, so with the help of drones, not only will a war be happening on the battlefield, but a war of information will be happening in the skies.
  10. Suggestion: Add the 'Main Menu' button from DarkRP into MRP Description: That's literally it. Reasoning: New players are often confused on how to access the main menu or don't have their console turned on to access the Gmod Menu. This would provide an easier way to access the main menu in case people need to change settings.
  11. Suggestion: Change up the amount of XP earned while gaining kills during war. Description: To gain XP with kills during war, a player must kill a player on an OBJ. The current amount is 50xp for killing a player. A way to spice this up is by giving more XP for killing players of higher levels! This would not only incentivize playing on the OBJ to get more XP for kills but would also reward players for killing higher level players. So, what I'm suggesting is: The Level of the Enemy Killed X 15 = Amount of XP given. For example: 1 X 15 = 15, 10 X 15 = 150, 20 X 15 = 300, 30 X 15 = 450, 40 X 15 = 600 This would apply for all levels in between from 1-40. Reason: This would be a really fun way to reward newer players for having the skills to kill higher ranked players.

Would love to see how the war changes up with a map that I nor a ton of people today have never been on. Would also like to meet all the old veterans of they do come on
  13. Suggestion: Add more items and functions with the Armory Description: The Armory is pretty barebones at the moment, only offering certain weapons, smoke, IFAK and riot shield. The Armory should more of a way for soldiers to use their hard-earned cash that they receive. Because of this, I'm suggesting more items for the Armory. All prices listed below can be adjustable if need be. So, what I'm suggesting: MREs (Meals Ready to Eat): Would replenish the player back to 100 Health for $100 Flashbang: Would offer more opportunites for players to use the flashbang for the price of $2,000, abuse would result in punishment (weapon_sh_flashbang) Armor (3 Tiers): Would introduce the idea of Armor to more lower level players, would come in 3 Tiers. Body Armor Tier 1 (garnet_bodyarmorleveli): Would provide 25 Armor to the user. Cost $1,000 Body Armor Tier 2 (garnet_bodyarmorlevelii): Would provide 50 Armor to the user. Cost $2,000 Body Armor Tier 3 (garnet_bodyarmorleveliii): Would provide 75 Armor to the user. Cost $3,000 Reasoning: Would provide more additional uses for money on the server, as there aren't many opportunities to use cash.
  14. Suggestion: Due to the recent advancement of shields being able to work, I wanted to see if it was possible to add additional shields to certain classes. Description: At the current moment, the only shield in circulation is the riot shield, with its only purpose to block shots and hit people with it. Two additional shields that are already in the server are the Deployable Shield (deployable_shield) and the Heavy Shield (heavy_shield). The Deployable Shield can be put down to act as an extra barrier for the user. It immediately despawns the moment the user who placed it down is killed. The Heavy Shield is able to breach doors. What I suggest to do is: Add the Heavy Shield (heavy_shield) to the Breach and Clear Certification, which would allow for the people with the Cert to better breach and clear areas of importance during war and events. Add the Deployable Shield (deployable_shield) to the shop on each side, making it $2,500. Reason: With the shields officially working again, I would want to see more use of shields throughout the server.

  21. Ok, you are allowed to flame me for this, but at least hear me out beforehand. TLDR will be at the bottom of this post, but I suggest reading through to understand the big picture. What if we were to take the Drug making system from DarkRP and transfer it over to MRP? I know, "content stealing" and I understand that this may seem completely random, but research has been done. The Taliban Are Expanding Their Drug Trade From Heroin to Meth (foreignpolicy.com) The Taliban are a major drug making empire that distributes a bunch of the world's Meth and Heroin to many 1st world nations, including Japan, Australia and countries in North America. They are said to earn around $3 billion annually "trafficking opium and heroin produced principally in southern Afghanistan." For this suggestion, I had to do some more research, which made me enter the uncharted territories of DarkRP and it was fun! Met some people along the way, did my thing with Money printers to get to level 12 to become "Weed Cultivator." The images I took can be found through this link -> https://postimg.cc/gallery/cZVz6Rg A lot of the drugs that are discussed in the article above are available in the drug making system that DarkRP has, which would make it easy to implement. Not only that, but we could also add some NPCs in order for people to officially sell the drugs. With this, we can do more RP scenarios between the Taliban and the US, Taliban being the drug manufacturing empire and the US attempting to stop all forms of drug selling. This could also allow for another reason for people to play Taliban, as they would earn money through these drugs selling activities. The Taliban would make a certain area into a lab, the drugs would be made and then they would sell it to NPCs around the area, which can be changed to distributors to better fit the narrative of selling to 1st world countries. Meanwhile, the US can do operations that stops the processing and selling of these drugs (destroying labs and busting drug deals), furthermore, getting rid of the drug problem in America. Only problem that has come up for me was how were people going to make the lab? Players would need the Phys gun to make the labs. 2 possible solutions. 1. Give everyone the Phys gun (Easy, but not the smartest idea) 2. Make a separate drug making class for Taliban that would have ONLY the Phys gun (Requires new class, but would make it simple) If solution number #2 is selected, we can make a tryout for the class that would be all about how to make the drugs, which I would love to help with! What do you think? Love it? Hate it? Want to basecamp me from Hotel Paris? Leave your thoughts! TLDR: Transfer Drug System from DarkRP to MRP. Taliban are drug makers, US want to stop them. NPCs would be around map for Taliban to sell and make money for themselves. Would add more RP scenarios that could be done. Edit: A God of a person just reminded me that props could be made into entities as well, so that players can pick them up! That’s also a possibility if the first 2 suggestions don’t work out. Edit Part 2: Coming back to this, I realized I have not really added much as to how this affect the landscape of the server. Question have been raised and I'm going to do my best to answer them! Question 1: Would there be any types of laws to follow with this system in place? That would be for the factions themselves to decide. US MP and AFG MP can decide their own version of laws. USMP would obviously make laws based on the access of drugs is illegal and any taking of them would result in punishment, while AFG MP could have laws where messing with the drug manufacturing process could result in some jail time. Question 2: Where the hell would such a lab be at? US won't have this problem, because they won't be making the drugs, but AFG still needs a specific room. The room that I'm suggesting is located underground in the Taliban base! One room is currently unused, and this would provide for the perfect area for the drug making empire. Question 3: Would the drugs provide any form of enhancements? While I feel like that would be a really cool idea, it's pretty lopsided. If Tali are the ones making the drugs, they would be the only ones to use it (unless the US steal a batch). Giving Speed the boost of 5% more speed would be cool, but Tali would have a ton of it while the US have none of it.

  25. As much as a change like this would cool, I don't really see the point as to doing all this work when Army is consistently the faction with the most players on. Taliban are more the faction that could use some help, in any way possible. While POP hasn't been the best as of recently, a change like this wouldn't really itch people to play the server more. The effect of "New models, weapons, banger update, W" would really only last a week and after that, everyone would go back to their respective factions. -1
