    TSFU Overhaul

+1 Should have been implemented a long time ago.
  2. Repost of one that was denied. With the new assassination update coming out I cannot think of a better time to add in something like this. While I appreciate the effort of the creators of this new system I do not believe this is enough incentive to leave base for most players. This post could be a worthwhile addition to the new update, and the Occupations that come along with it could reward points to whichever faction wins. Peacetime on Garnet MRP is terrible. Most people just afk or switch off gmod to play another game until the next war. This is really bad for player retention. I suggest that we take a page from Icefuse's book and give players something to do during peacetime. Capturable Points - I suggest that we add point similar to the ones we have already during war, but put them in so that they only appear during peacetime. Place these points at these locations or ones near them - Courtyard - The same area where the war point is at. Construction - Top floor of North Building in the open area that looks towards US base. Playground - Same area where playground point is at. Warehouse - Grain building closest to construction Village - In the middle of the road. In line with the alley between buildings two and three. Trailer Park - Small housing complex beside US base. Shanty Town - Small housing complex beside Tali base. I am currently working on finding an addon that would allow management to place small circular cap points so that the points are not like they are during wars. I would also suggest adding a small experience and money bonus to capturing an objective. RP Contributions - Adding in these points would unlock a couple of different RP scenarios for players to engage in during peacetime. Creative players can call one for a RP reason, I.E. Collecting Intel, Interviewing Locals, Sending Encrypted Message to Command. If you are boring and lazy you can call one to get some combat action and not afk during peacetime. Mid to Senior level enlisted players would have a reason to take lower enlisted on patrols around the map. Players could farm capping these points for experience and money, which would lead to more interaction between factions during peacetime as they fight for the rewards of capturing an objective. Not to brown nose Icefuse, but I would also suggest stealing an idea they had called occupations. Occupations worked similarly to how Garnet wars work. You call a debrief and pick an objective to occupy. Once you have capped the objective you can call a 10 minute occupation on one point around the map. In my opinion, players can really have a field day with these occupations. You have the time to actually place people where you want them to defend with a visual without having the chaos of war. Communication was off the charts during Icefuse occupations and this is where the server really hooked a lot of people. Creative players can call one for a RP reason, I.E. Collecting Intel, Interviewing Locals, Sending Encrypted Message to Command. If you are boring and lazy you can call one to get some combat action and not afk during peacetime. All of these together would help to sate blood hungry Garnet players. Occupation Rules - Must call a debrief before adverting an occupation. Must have the point capped before calling an occupation. If not capped when the OCC is called then it is an automatic loss. All players involved in defending the occupied point must be within the bounds of the occupied area. For example, if a occupation is called on construction, all players defending the point have to be inside of the construction buildings. If the occupation is on playground then all players must be within the school area. Occupations last 10 minutes. If the point is not captured before that time the defending team wins (Collects Intel, Sends encrypted message, some other RP reason). If the point is captured then whatever RP plan the occupants had is foiled. Only one occupation can be ongoing at a time. First one to call it gets it. There is a 10 minute cooldown before another can be called. This is obviously a huge change and would take some serious work to get implemented. However, at this time I am personally having the most fun on MRP I have had since the base camping and sniper bullshittery of the last two maps. The only problem I personally have is the pronounced boringness of peacetime. I am not saying this is the solution to boring peacetimes, but I absolutely believe it would help. Thanks for Reading.
  3. -1 If you want MRP to be a Call of Duty TDM match this is a great suggestion. In my opinion, this just makes every SOC faction the same as the other, the only differential being skill level. What is the purpose of 055th/Green Beret if everyone else has explosives of equal comparison? Why do we want every SOC faction to be able to achieve the same things in combat? You join 055th or Green Beret to be a frontline fighter with some explosive utility. With this suggestion, that is now a null point because any faction you join is gonna have grenades. Not to mention TSFU already does not have much to distinguish them as a tier two SOC faction, and now you want to give them explosives and not a sniper? Why don't we just say Tali has two tier one factions now? I could see giving breacher classes flash grenades and medic classes smoke grenades so that they can better achieve their intended purpose. However, why would anyone play medic if this was added? Why would I use a subpar pistol and my negligible riot shield if I can just drop smokes and have a meta rifle? Furthermore, how is anyone supposed to capture an objective when every soldier is carry a hand grenade? Am I supposed to rely on my Tier 1 and donator snipers to deal with that? Now I cannot rely on snipers because there is a ten mile long smoke line from US front gate all the way into the objective. I understand what this post is trying to achieve but I think this approach is lazy and honestly just wrong. All I can see for the future of MRP with this added in is the death of Faction Identity. I agree that more utility is need on the server, but just saying "Fuck It!" and giving everybody utility is absolutely not the answer to the problem. How about instead of this, we say "What changes can we make to give every Faction a niche that they succeed in." TSFU has asked for a sniper to better combat their Tier 2 opponents, medics were given smokes and base faction Support was given a riot shield, 055th has a shitty DMR that people barely use. ALL OF THESE ARE STEPS IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. TSFU wants to be able to combat the SR338. Medics actually become usable. 055th has to either suck it up and die twenty times until ISI and TSFU with donor snipers can clear a path for them, or pull of some huge elaborate flank every time they die. Just to add to the faction identity part, Green Beret needs some type of explosive. They are doing really well in the frontline combat area, but 055th stills over shines them solely because of having explosives at hand. Lets get to a place where new players are actually able to weigh the pros and cons of joining a SOC faction. Not just, "These dudes were nice to me" or "These dudes are really skilled I want to play with them." I am not saying every SOC faction cannot have some things similar to another, but TSFU and 055th are literally the same faction, and Green Beret has been given the middle finger. Give the factions a niche. I respect the time and effort put into this suggestion post, but in my opinion, this is not the way to go about it. I also hate the additions to tier 3 classes as if they aren't already amazing. With your additions to Brigadier and Combat Medic you are creating super soldiers that should just be full on dono classes with no SOC affiliation. I mean seriously? COMBAT MEDIC NEEDS THE SR338? BRIGADIER NEEDS A GRENADE LAUNCHER? This has got to be some scheme from Nutter to get people to pay for a insanely broken class. Seriously terrible addition to a somewhat salvageable post.
  4. +1 Peacetime is still boring even with people making great suggestions very commonly. If we cant get any big updates I do think this would be a perfect one to bring in. Would make a dent in the boredom factor and I could even see a usage for this in trainings/tryouts. Great post for a delta force member.
  5. +1 But only if added to a later map. Foxtrot is way to small for helicopters. You can already cross the map in like a minute, but I do agree with the RP additions and event things that could come from it.
  6. +1 I agree. Only psychos don't use simple, and if they would like it disabled later it still can be.
  7. Name: Pockle Current Active Ranks: Tali SSGT Officer Experience: 2LT in 055th Notable Accomplishments: N/A Playtime: 261:53:53 Desired Rank: Public Affairs Officer / Agent Current Rank in ISI (If Applicable): N/A What does the term Professionalism mean to you?: To me, professionalism means to keep a calm demeanor in any situation and to make well thought out and reasonable decisions. Professionals approach a situation rationally, and keep their emotions out of the decision making. The emotions of those around them do not influence them in any way and they treat every situation with the utmost importance. Professionals always keep their emotions in check. They keep a serious and appropriate demeanor in every situation no matter how big or small. Their personal insecurities never show in a public sphere and those insecurities never influence their decision making. How do you hope to improve ISI?: I believe I have a keen eye for potential talent, and the necessary work ethic to develop skilled players into future talented agents. I also believe that I have the skills needed to improve the overall health of the Tali side, not just ISI in particular. In addition, I am willing to do the boring menial work that is necessary for improving any faction. Are you willing to completely commit to the Faction?: Yes, since leaving 055th I have been bouncing around a lot of different places. However, I believe that joining ISI will give me more of a purpose, which I have not had for a while. What skills do you bring to the table?: Personally, I believe that I am generally a very social person and I enjoy helping players reach their goals. While I am absolutely not the most skilled player, I do believe I can spot those who show possible talent for the agency. Overall, I would be a good helper for future talent and a charismatic addition to the agency.

  9. Not asking for god mode that is unfair. I'm asking for it to take more than one bullet from a sniper to kill the driver of a humvee with bullet proof windows.
  10. If you were driving a military grade vehicle with 3/8" bullet proof windows, I think you could take a nap and not worry about getting shot my friend. However, this is not real life. Vehicles are a one time spawn for most people in a war, and getting sniped out of the driver seat with a car full of reinforcements is just boring and can lose one a war. If I'm not allowed to respawn my vehicle every time I die, then I should not be able to be killed by one bullet while driving it.
  11. Players shouldn't be able to killed in vehicles The only way people should be killed while in a vehicles if it blows up. Drivers are getting sniped out vehicles from one sniper shot. Vehicles are a great tool for players to get to objectives and should provide more protection to it's occupants.
  12. +1 Everything I have ever asked for in one suggestion post. Spencer may have even had something similar accepted a while back, not really sure. However, this post hits almost every gripe players have.
  13. Thanks for the feedback. Edited accordingly
  14. Raiding at the moment has really no RP value at all. Roleplay raids happen but they take more creative effort than they should. Place a capturable objective in each of the bases. At US base place it in the US War Room, and the AFG point in the AFG Ruined Building. Giving players an objective during a raid would see a big decline in kill raids and promote RP based raids. Great officers can use capturable objectives to unite their troops with a single goal in mind. Whereas, right now there really is not a reason to call a raid unless I have someone able to spawn me a placeable bomb. If we want to promote RP we have to give players avenues to achieve that roleplay without relying on them to create new ideas. This could create a huge point of tension between the two factions, and possibly give players another reason to join the military police factions that are in place now. Peacetimes would be more tense because of the possibility of a raid on your base. These objectives would have a much faster capping time than normal war objectives. I like Reynold's suggestion of 5x faster than normal objectives. AFG base is small and having an OBJ completely separate from the spawn zone narrows down the options quite a lot. So I would suggest making Tali point capturable in a very small timeframe, somewhere from two and a half to 3 minutes. However, the ruined building at the back of the base is far enough away that you cannot see spawn unless you actively make an attempt to, and close enough to spawn that Tali can contest just as quickly as US can start capturing. Two new rules that I suggest come along with this is the rule of No Precapping and You cannot be within sight of the other teams spawn point. The first rule should not be a problem, the only reason you would break it is if you consciously chose to. Being within sight of the US spawn point should not be a problem, US war room is nowhere near the objective and should not come into play if the objective is what you are raiding for. Like I said before, Tali base is very small in comparison to US base, so US is looking at a much harder objective to capture. In my opinion, this opens the door for US officers to really take initiative and place people tactically and play smart throughout the raid. The way that raids are roleplayed at the moment usually have people capturing an area of the enemy base and holding it until they are wiped out. This would still be a viable avenue of raiding if the officer leading decided to do so. If you want to capture US generator room and roleplay shutting off the US's power to the base, you are still open to doing that. If there is someone with the power to do give you a place-able bomb and you can get them on board for a 'blowing up the US War Room' type of raid, then you are still able to do it. Adding in these objectives makes it easier for players who struggle to create original roleplay raids. Objectives also give officers who don't give a shit about roleplay a reason to raid. I also believe this would give military police factions a shot of adrenaline, which in the best case scenario would give players a reason to patrol the walls and be active, not AFK during peacetime. This would also instill pride in players after a successful raid defense in the same way that winning a war instills pride in players.
  15. No idea why it was removed in the first place. Why have everyone sift through different party systems when this one worked fine? Id also have to agree with Towelieee on this one. Lots of things can be combined with this system to make a great overall party system that promotes communication and cohesion within specific units. +1
