  1. -1. I'm not doing this because I don't think you would be a good staff member it is because you are more valuable to us as a GM, currently T.Mods don't do much I get maybe 2 sits a day while GM's are essential 24/7. It just wouldn't be a good idea for you or the server.
  2. @Silo I like ur cut g

  3. In-game name: CG RO CDR 1143 Thorn Age: 18 SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:1:119630213 Warns: 0 Timezone: GMT/BST Playtime?: | RANCOR CDR Colt has played for 283:00:45. Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: [YES/NO] Yes Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?:[YES/NO] Yes Referral(s): [What administrator recommended you to apply?] Phantom, Eli, Bortnik Past experiences as staff: [Optional] I have staffed on multiple servers, I was head admin on a network known as "Complex Network" from about November To January When I was promoted to Server Manager I then started to work on creating and managing a WW2 MRP however the Owners lost the "spark" and closed down the network, From there I staffed on a starwarsRP server which then transitioned into a MRP, I then got Head Admin and was managing the staff team however the server shut down due to immaturity from the owner. If you want or need proof of any of this experience I will get you in touch with the people I worked with/under. Head Mod on GG MRP under Phantom, GM & AFSOC currently on MRP (The vast bulk of this was taken from my 2018 app because very little has changed besides added GG stuff). Why should we choose you over other applicants? Lots have people have said this but that doesn't make it invalid; my timezone allows me to get on earlier/later than others (while being on at peak times) which is a bonus due to the typical lack of people and staff on at those times. I have been playing for around 3 months now and have been an commander for almost all of that so I figured it was time to take up some more responsibility. I would like to help the server as I have been enjoying it a lot these few months and I believe I could have a positive impact on it due to my extensive prior experience managing people IRL and virtually. I would mainly like to help the server operate by performing simple tasks like user moderation, watching over factions and assisting with decisions, while these are things I have been somewhat doing anyway I believe I could do them in a much more effective way if I was actually a staff member, I would like to personally help Eli and (somewhat) Bortnik run the server as from what I can see, some help would be appreciated. I would like to say im responsible and usually act maturely (we all like to have fun though) and can usually be trusted to get the job done and do it to a good standard. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? If so, Include details Minor warns on MRP, no punishments anywhere else on GG. Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: Republic Ops App on the 9th of June, MRP GM App on July 17, MRP T.Mod App on July 5th 2018. How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: A few hours a day, easily able to juggle SWRP and MRP as I have been for close to 3 months. If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod? I'm an avid hunter, I would usually be working as a gamekeeper but covid fucked that a bit so I'm waiting until next season to start. I have recently started going to the gym again because being bigger than everyone else is nice. I also do a lot of really funny/dumb redneck type stuff and a bit of motorcycle racing. Did you read the staff rules?: Jake

  5. -1. The sway on the orsis has next to no impact on anything, I can't remember a shot I missed because the sway dragged it off target. The sway acts as a partial nerf to the gun, everybody has the gun making combat generic and boring at least the sway supposedly makes it harder to use.
  6. In-game name: AFSOC CDR Beluga Age: 18 SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:1:119630213 Warns: 1 for RDM on 4/23/20 Timezone: BST/GMT Playtime?: | AFSOC CDR Beluga has played for 2208:14:03. Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: Yes Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?: Yes Referral(s): Homast, Zachman, Dex, Gythem, Ozzy, Mark Duglas, Naitsir Past experiences as a Game Master: None as a GM specifically however on SWRP I was helping with Conways events and would usually hold key roles. I also helped run every event that was held on the Event Server along with Shrimp and Phantom, I have been doing general RP / mini-event stuff as AFSOC when there is an opportunity to do so. Why should we choose you over other applicants? I believe I would be a good addition to the team because for the last year or so I have been RP driven and have been attempting to implement it where possible. I personally enjoy passive RP aspects of MRP for example, planning operations, leading operations and working with forces within operations. I have been using AFSOC when possible to do things like these, I usually try to do a few a day. I personally think that most people can enjoy RP without it being dry, forced or unnatural. I would like to start off with minor RP which most people can get involved with and if they enjoy that then I could start to add more complicated things into it, giving them the choice of what they can or will do. I think that in an event the more freedom somebody has while also staying within the event itself, the better this is because if there is no tight strict schedule for them to follow there are far fewer opportunities for players to mess up. A good example of RP would be a simple kidnap scenario if done properly, you have the RP of the interrogation and trying to get information as well as the negotiations and hand-over of the hostage. A lot of people nowadays mistake RP for Arma 3 type tactical callout nonsense when in fact, RP is literally anything within reason you are doing while also playing or performing that role. The most common type of RP found today are often the user hosted operations, outside of this there is very little RP going on, I would like to try and change that by adding tasks for enlisted to complete or roles for them to fulfill to get them into passive RP. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server? Aside from general warns for fuck-ups over the years, no. How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: Several hours a day In your own words, what are the responsibilities of a Gamemaster?: I believe that a GM's primary role is to ensure there is always going to be fun gameplay on the server, at the moment that would probably be between wars as there is often little to do. They can do this with a few different types of events; RP events, fun events and planned Operations. The secondary role of a GM would be to moderate RP, to act as guidance and support to ensure it all goes down smoothly as any negative event related things will often lead to players just having a blanket dislike of events for example, player organised Operations were mostly boring and poorly planned which made people dislike them but because they were called events those people came to just dislike events in total which just pushes the focus on war and pvp even more. Describe how you would contribute to RP as a part of the Gamemaster team: I would try to provide most people with a source of passive RP or something related for them to do this would be beneficial because while also giving something for the players to do it would slowly get them to start enjoying RP as a whole which could lead to more people wanting to take part in missions, events and operations. I would try to do semi-regular larger events with the other GM's so that there is no predicting anything (keeping it interesting), one of the problems currently is that it gets very repetative and players get into the cycle of war, afk/tryouts, war, afk/tryouts which gets very boring very fast. It is somewhat like training a gundog, if you go too hard too fast they will dislike it and get bored, if you do too little they will get into the cycle and get bored and lose interest. Explain your single most creative idea for contributing to the RP environment of the server: A Heroes and Generals style of war. In-Game every war is a battle, each battle counts towards a war which would last a certain amount of time (14 days, 30 days etc) Generals and faction leaders could pick a location for a battle to take place for example, start in Mongolia (Siberia) and head West which would take you to Kazakhstan from there you could head south to the middle east area where you could use Delta and Chaharikar, from there you could head West into Russa (Taiga/Taiga Forest). It would work like this; each one of those dots would represent a battle, the faction leaders could set the battle to one of those whoever wins would claim that zone, from there you can progress forward, the actual map would look like a sheet of dotted paper in which the leaders could progress the war in the direction they would like it to go. As you change your claims on the map the location of the battles changes which would change the map to others used in the rotation. Please list and explain 5 unique event ideas of any scale: Event 1: This will take place on gm_Fork; designed for one faction at a time (some inspiration has been taken from a previous Event from the Event Server) The players will start within these castle walls and call AFSOC for transport, AFSOC will land in the parking lot just below the castle. AFSOC will land here and the forces will dismount and assemble in the barn. The faction will have a choice of specialty weapons for some of their men; a sniper, demolitions equipment, medical equipment. The forces will be driven down the trail in red and will stop at the junction marked with an X, and will be forced to engage forces at the *. They will drive down the same marked path and park under the bridge marked by an X. They will head up the hill to the side of where they parked, head inside the tunnel and clear it from there they will head along the bridge to the two warehouses where they will be engaged by a considerable force. They will have to exit the compound and head to the mansion where civs have been supposedly taken hostage. Once they are within the walls of the mansion their commander will be kidnapped and the main force will be ambushed and over run forcing them to surrender. They will be forced to follow the designated route. They will be kept in this room in which they will have to escape without using the main door or weapons. Once they exit the tunnel they will find some old easter bloc weaponry (AK-74, CZ 858, SVT-40 etc) stored on the shelves of the exit along with a stockpile of ammo. They will have to get to the comms tower designated with a large X to radio AFSOC in for fire support and extraction, there is a suggested route of how they can get to the comms tower however it does not need to be followed. The smaller X's mark hostile forces. From there they will be flown back to the airstrip where they will be debriefed and the event will end. Event 2: Payday 2 stealth The objective of this would be for a small team of people to sneak into an OBJ to retrieve a certain item while that OBJ is being guarded by either NPC's or players acting as guards, they would be allowed to kill 4 or 5 guards depending on the size of the OBJ (in RP this would be because the controller got suspicious of multiple guards not answering their comms) and must get to a certain extraction point, this should be played slowly and carefully to ensure success. If it was on Airstrip the item would be in the closed off room in Admin building, there would be 2 guards in Admin, 1 by tents, 1 in the hangar next to Admin, 1 patrolling between the two hangars to the side of Admin and 2 patrolling the open area. If on town the item would be in either of the Apartment buildings by Construction. If it were to be held on Factory, the item would be in the South-West corner of the main room behind the knocked over shelving unit. Event 3: Assassination This is a relatively standard assassination mission, an AFSOC or GM will call SOC to the OP War Room of either country and explain this: There is a General of the opposing side meeting in Factory with a weapons development team to assess a new weapon system that if adopted has the capability to change the tide of war. It will be Ranger/Vega's job to recon the area and form a detailed report of where sentry's are, how many escort forces are there and the exact location of the General at the time of the recon trip. MARSOC/GRU will be tasked with taking out the sentry's while the Green Beret/SSO and DEVGRU/PDSS members push into the location and wipe out the escort forces, Rangers/Vega will push in and execute the General (out of line of sight from the other forces) after questioning. Event 4: Convoy defense The US would be tasked with escorting a convoy of confiscated weaponry from the US Outpost to Factory, they escorting infantrymen will have to set up scout patrols to recon the area ahead to prepare for battle, defend the cargo while trying to take out the opposition. The infantry would most likely need a health boost of some sort so that they all dont just instantly get deleted. In Town the convoy would be attacked from Gas Station and Oil, at the turn of the road they will encounter light sniper/marksman fire from the north rocks in the valley and when they get to factory they will find a large amount of opposing forces to wipe out to allow the convoy entry. Event 5: Forza Fun This would be more of a fun, let some steam off event with 0 RP value at all. Simmilar to the speeder bike races on SWRP in the Republic Tourney, this would have a member from each faction in a Humvee race around the map in a chosen circuit, there would be 2 rounds in the first one you will go head to head against the other 9 factions in an intense race, you must finish in the top 50% to progress to the second round. In the second round the players will be racing 1 at a time doing timed laps around the circuit, they all get 1 test lap. The fastest driver will receive a cash prize of 50k. (sorry about the 2000 word app)
  7. Description: Increasing the skybox (~ double current height) Removing the hangars from US base and adding aircraft and vehicle spawners there instead WAC Maintenance Station to repair aircraft that have been set down. Replacing the large empty scenic building behind the RU RR (or any of the empty space in RU base) and replacing it with with a flat concrete plate to have aircraft and vehicles spawn at with a WAC Maintenance Station to repair aircraft that have been set down. Adding a parachute addon so forces may be dropped in and perform HALO, HAHO jumps etc Add some basic pilot jobs for RU, US already has AFSOC US Aircraft: Little Bird MH-6; can carry 4 including pilot, Black Hawk UH-60; can carry 7 including pilot, MH-53 Sea Stallion; can carry 9 including pilot. RU Aircraft: Hughes 500D; can carry 4 including pilot, Mil MI-17 Hip; can carry 8 including pilot, CH-47 Chinook; can carry 9 including pilot. I am aware that there are 2 American aircraft listed with the RU selection however these would fit the best as there is only one Russian transport helicopter. Add the ground vehicles we were using on Chaharikar back with the spawners near the landing pads in the bases If a map edit is not possible (however minor) then you could use the OP's to spawn the vehicles and just simply make both Outposts an official extention of the base so you cannot be killed in it or be in it during war. Flying on the current map with its low skybox is pretty easy provided you are skilled enough to make the turns needed, I will include a video of me flying on Taiga V3 below. Reasoning: The reason we should do these things, are because it would expand the possible ways to get to objectives, and also could serve as a method to implement "NPC Invasions" and be a general help to the GM's if/when the system is added. It would create a more diverse battlefield as it would combine Air, Mechanized and regular Ground to create a "combined arms" situation (what modern militaries use) making combat more interesting. Helicopters (outside of GM spawned ones) would be purely transport as a Viper with Hellfires and a 30mm auto-cannon would wipe an entire push in mere seconds. It would also allow Further Roleplay scenarios to be added on the map we currently have, Instead of simply marching everyone to an objective, or sending a sqaud out for On-Foot Recon, What could be done is Aircraft Recon, Player Aircraft Raid drops, and other such things. It would increase the amount of ways for any scenario to go down or be formed for example, there is a pre-planned skirmish at town in which RU are defending, you could send a helicopter to company and have the SF drop onto company hills and flank the forces diverting their attention so that infantryman could push in from the US side. As for Adding Parachutes, It would make sense as it would make it easier for troops to get into RP/Raid Scenarios without taking potentially massive amounts of fall damage or the aircraft getting blown up. There would obviously need to be raid rules implemented as the use of aircraft in raids would be more than likely overpowered as you could get into previously unreachable positions. AFSOC Loadouts

+1 For obvious reasons, I would like to make one thing clear though; AFSOC is to be used for appropriate reasons (Events, SOC trainings etc) they will not be played as an active war faction or as an active faction as a whole for the forseable future.
  9. You seem to be very friendly and nice, while these are obviously good traits to display it looks to me that you may have misunderstood the role of a GMA. As a GMA you can hold small scale events on the main server however most of your attention would be towards helping the GM's and AFSOC on the the heavy RP event server, the events you have listed seem to me like they are rather generic combat or bomb style events which we basically have 1 of every hour automatically. For these reasons I'm going to be giving a -1. If you change your events to suit the event server then it can easily be changed to a +1.
  10. What I am suggesting is that coruscant guard get an officer job like the other main battalions with the DC17 and DC15A along with the stun DC15s and an arrest baton (plus the permission to use /wanted). My reasoning is that currently there is a medic , riot job, rifleman and commander with the 3 donator jobs ontop of that. This means that the officers of the faction have to play typically rifleman or riot if they do not have a donator job. This would also be useful as it would allow us to whitelist/remove whitelists as we need to rather than requiring staff or the CDR to do it. Model wise, it could use the Gideon CG Stone model which currenly is not being used on any of the jobs. Model string: models/player/gideon/coruscantguards/stone/cg_stone.mdl These are the current jobs CG has
  11. This pandemic has wasted an entire year of my life. In my line of work hiring season is feb to april as this is downtime in the shooting community, due to restrictions nobody could leave their work place and nobody could get hired, IE I have to wait until next feb-april to attempt to get a job. The gas we use to rear our chicks is a biproduct of aviation fuel but due to air traffic there has been more than a shortage, most shoots are unsure if they will be open for the next few years due to this, bad time to be a gamekeeper. The riots and nonsense from the US has come to the UK for some idiotic reason, whenever this happens there are typically restrictions applied in high risk areas (guns) so i cant wait to have any black polymer firearm taken (which country workers need to do their jobs) because some pricks decide to protest in the wrong country. TLDR: year of my life gone, no money coming in only going out, the BLM asshats are potentially gonna fuck my firearms laws even further. The big facade of me being me is pretty much a coping mechanism in the realisation im effectively fucked. @Ozzy Try and keep your grandfathers close to you, mine had dementia and i didnt do that, nothing worse than being forgotten by a family member
  12. [IC] RP Name: 7888 Storg [OOC] SWRP Playtime: | CG SCPL 7888 Storg has played for 38:11:15. [OOC] SteamID: STEAM_0:1:119630213 [OOC] Age: 17 [OOC] Past SWRP/GG Leadership: (Non-GG and Non-GG SWRP Leadership may be placed here (GG SWRP Leadership Preferred)) I lead 41st on Cortex Gaming CWRP in may 2018, on Reality Roleplay I was RAF Air Chief Marshal 3 times between 2017 and 2018, I was Ground Command (equiv of Navy on here, in charge of running operations, conduct of personnel etc) 2 times as well. On GG MRP I assisted with leading Army (with Conway) while I was a placeholder CSM due to me being in GB (Chris didn't really have any valuable officers at that time), I was a 1LT in GB for 2 months during summer 2018 and I can confidently say that at that point I was leading the faction. Until recently I was in Rangers between 9 and 10 months and had been leading it for the vasy majority of that (8 of the 9 or 9 of the 10). After my Ranger career I was appointed to 2LT within AFSOC on the MRP (this was later undone by Garnet due to mis-management regarding me being appointed to that position). There have been many other leadership positions on friends servers etc however none of them really had any substance so they were not included. [IC] Why do you wish to join Republic Operations: I would like to join RO as I enjoy leading, it has become both a hobby on gmod and IRL, this would give me the opportunity to expand on that. I enjoy passiveRP more than being on the front lines so this position should fit me well. I have always been interested in the Navy on SWRP and on Cortex I was in it, I enjoyed running the Venator as well as planning and executing operations from it. [IC] What do you feel is the role of Republic Operations: I believe that RO's job is to ensure that whatever station the 34th finds itself on is operating smoothly and correctly, to assist with battalion wide trainings, regulate CG competency, planning and running operations along with being mature and respectable. [OOC/IC] Why should we choose you over other applicants? I am passionate about the role, I believe if you are not passionate you will not be successful (ie burnt out leaders on MRP) this means that I have a lot of time to put into the role along with liking passiveRP this means I would fit the role quite well (in my opinion). I have a considerable amount of leadership experience / roles to my name, most of these were long term roles as I like to stay commited to something. Most of the leadership experience I do have can be applied to SWRP / RO so I believe this will prove useful. I am well known within MRP for my RP, I believe it is enjoyable for all and I continue to stand by that and would like to apply that here. I can work well with 1010 Fox via RP as we have worked together many times previously, some relatively recently. [OOC] Have you ever been punished on a GarnetGaming Server? (Warns, Bans - even if appealed) I believe I have not had more than 7 warns in my GG career, however due to them being removed periodically I cannot tell. Most warns would have been for RDM or FailRP in various different scenarios. [OOC] How much time can you contribute a day? Currently about 4hrs to SWRP. [OOC] Do you understand that this application being accepted does NOT guarantee your posistion, that an interview may be needed, and your position is subject to SWRP Management Approval/Oversight? Yes [OOC] Do you understand that your posistion may be terminated at any time, bypassing the strike system, for any reason deemed fit by CG Command and/or SWRP Management? Yes
  13. Taiga V3 is most likely the best map for me, the mixture of CQC on the objectives and surrounding hills with sniping in the valleys was honestly the best sort of balance I have seen in a gmod map. For all those voting, make sure you vote for the map that will play the best, not for the memories of that map. Lots of us remember desert with rose tinted glasses, that doesn't make it a good map just remember that nostalgia is a big part of why people vote for maps not necessarily how well it played. TLDR; vote for the combat not the people
  14. I'm buying a No. 4 Mk1 Enfield when the shops reopen so thats the dream for me.
  15. STEAM_0:1:119630213 M3 Super 90 B725 cause I get feeds irl with it too
  16. While this would be a great pass time for those who play for war exclusively I personally don't think it would have the longevity you would be looking for, I could see this being active for a short while and slowly dying out. Overall, would be fun but ultimately a waste of money.

    [MRP] AFSOC Spawn fix

While yes, the spawns are an issue it isn't like staff are being spammed for teleports as its just me and I rarely get killed as I don't play war or do sims, if I do need to be taken out I usually go through D Rose, Millerjerm and Aidan as they happy to help.
  18. Jake

    Corrupt-A-Wish

Granted but as with most rim-fires it will malfunction every other shot making it straight pull. I wish for a Land Rover Defender V8.
  19. Sadly nobody else involved had any. @AwesomeAidan You don't back down from a challenge and routinely take charge of troublesome situations. @Garnet Cringe, I know however you quite obviously put an incredible amount of time and effort into each update however its a shame the community (MRP in particular) are so indecisive when it comes to major updates. @Homast You are a great help overall but you really come into your own with what I'm doing with AFSOC so far, certainly wouldn't be able to do it without you. @Soappppp You have put in and are continueing to put in a fantastic amount of work towards RP events and operations, you kickstarted it all on Chaharikar. @Phantom No longer a part of MRP but was SA for quite some time, undoubtably the server started going downhill with your departure. @Mikesplintzwithflint Interesting individual, looking forward to seeing what you're going to be doing within Army.
  20. According to Aidans post, nobody. Afaik the whole AFSOC, GM, Event Server stuff will be remaining stagnant until further notice.
  21. You are a staple of current seals which is kinda epic
  22. I still have no idea why this is still a thing. How well known you are has 0 effect on your capability as either a GM or staff member, if you don't know them then don't comment as you cannot be productive. Personally I will be putting in a +1 as he has addressed the critisism received and adjusted the app for it, he seems to have good ideas however the arma 3 video that was in it for me doesnt really work, as someone who was in every event I can comfortably say that is not how they run or should run.
