  1. +1: Being able to defend your base without giving any chance to be damaged is clearly unfair, but I understand some new players might not be thinking that way, so I wouldn't be opposed to adding a few words to the rules to avoid misunderstandings that do happen.
  2. Toyota needs no introduction at this point, he excelled as a staff member previously and he'll do it once again. It seems like the staff team is lacking some formability and Toyota will fill in perfectly, needless to say; The app is great, amazing hours, well-known member of the community. +1!
  3. Thank you for all the help Cyber, I'm sure that with your work ethic you'll succeed on whatever obstacle you front. Best of lucks looking onward!

    Dlore nerf

What's disingenuous is you being deliberately obtuse showing that only the arguments on your side of the discussion are valid, and the rest are just dumb/silly trying to ridiculize and disregard on any possible back and forth. It is important to make great arguments and be willing to engage with any argument in good faith, otherwise you will continue to receive the same responses.

    Dlore nerf

I tried to encapsulate the arguments made for and against any Dlore nerf in every previously made suggestion to avoid falling into the same rabbit-holes in the same discussion: "People don't like stuff they paid for getting changed after years" Dlore opposes an advantage against people who don't use it. Dlore usually goes hand-to-hand with the usage of perks and this could balance/imbalance any gunfight. The use of the Dlore doesn't involve the need for high combat skills. The use of Dlore involves at least some decent combat skills. New players get dominated by Dlore users. Crowning the Dlore as the best weapon on the server leaves the bast majority of weapons at risk of not being used. Having a Dlore means not buying/using other weapons because it's pointless, but it's the best one out there. The Dlore can balance things out when a newer/low lvl player uses it against high lvl/experienced players. Dlore helps the server tremendously financially. There are other weapons that do a very similar job than the Dlore. The permanent machete has been nerfed previously removing the ability of being able to throw it (Due to exploits), proving that a perma can be modified and still being used/purchased. In order to keep the disparity between weapons at a minimum, it would be helpful to nerf/buff other weapons instead of only focusing on one. Raiding could become slightly harder due to the Dlore being the go-to for raid defense. People will move to the next OP weapon on the list if the Dlore gets nerfed, obviously still overshadowing the rest of the weapons. It removes the incentive to raid if most people use the Dlore for raid defense. It removes the incentive to defend if most people use the Dlore for raiding --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -1: Still a redundant no. Reduce the reload speed or the fire rate (This is not what the suggestion is about) but don't touch the damage if you are not going to buff other weapons to balance everything out. At some point it should be evident that this is not going to happen, multiple same suggestions since 2019 and there hasn't been any progress made so far (I wonder why). I look forward to new arguments being made and keeping this discussion fresh if it deserves to be kept discussed at all. Do not complain about people making the same arguments against nerfing the DLore if you are going to make the same arguments to nerf it as well .
  7. Great paragraphs, but unfortunately you did not read the rules even though you say you did: Remember that: "Failure to meet any of the following will result in the automatic denial of your application." "Read the server rules, staff rules, and forum rules." "Reach an in-game /playtime of 72 hours before applying." You also mentioned 2 things that I consider weird: And this, I don't know if you recycled this text or something like that, but this just doesn't make any sense for the application. If you plan on applying for staff again in a future take in consideration these requirements, read the rules and get yourself known among the community for support.
  8. +1: Those 2 recent bans are usually a red flag for someone seeking to be part of the staff team but not only you took the time to edit your app multiple times and take the criticism given to you, but you also seem to have a good reputation among the community despite this main downside, which in my book outbalances those 2 previous bans. Good luck!
  9. +1: This is absolutely needed, what is an increase of 6-11 levels for a job that can ruin the fun of people in such an easy way. In my experience I've encountered countless unique players whose only goal is to minge and being a cop is the biggest tool they have for it. Level 15-20 is pretty reasonable since cops are really useful to balance the whole "Justice ecosystem" however a considerable percentage of cops only care about minging, so a way to prevent this number to act is by increasing the lvl requirement which it would probably create an uphill goal that require some time to reach that will weed out some of these people. The additional proposed voting system is sort of annoying unless there is an option to hide the pop-up then it's reasonable, but it will not be needed on top of the level requirement increase. And as for the other voting system being discussed on the comments; It can also be abused even by the mayor, so why dont leave that decision to the staff team? Why give that "power" to regular players that have nothing to lose and can easily abuse this? Being able to be a mayor doesnt mean that you are a role model or that you should have more power over other players (Even if these are minging), so just reserve the right to demote CP's for staff members.
  10. I wonder how anyone could get past that tunnel with a giant bridge and hobo hut covering a large part of the space. This is what we would see if your suggestion was accepted. I just wish people were more critical when supporting a potentially big suggestion such as this and seeing the disingenuous reasoning for it. But yeah just to restate and close on this one; -1 To the general suggestion but +1 to the idea of widening the space available for megabases to occupy the sidewalks only (Even thought that is not what this suggestion is about)
  11. I appreciate that more people seem to be using megabases, since they rarely had any use before. However, the idea of allowing the building of sky bridges to interconnect bases just doesn't sit right with me. Not only it looks bad but it also prevents people from using certain swep's to travel around (e.g. Spiderman swep and parkour swep) opposed to what you said about keeping good traffic. Even in the image that you used we can appreciate Camp's hobo hut clipping through the "sky bridge", if people were to build a sky bridge that goes beyond the 6x6x6 space that hobos are allowed to use for their huts maybe it would be a good idea if you can make it work. Besides, from my experience in order to build a megabase the players can only connect 2 or 3 buildings that are shoulder to shoulder, without resorting to some gymnastics to get to the other building that is located meters away from one each other, it just doesn't seem right since the map already has a bunch of buildings with plenty space inside to go ahead and make the streets your new canvas. I will only support the following change; This will allow for building only over the sidewalk (without allowing sky bridges that obstruct the view and walkable space) to connect multiple bases.
  12. Dont we have that already for raids and when getting arrested? You "get caught lacking for a minute" get killed and now you have to wait 10 minutes maximum until the raid ends without being able to interfere, you can also "get caught lacking" as any job, get killed and now you can't go back to the same place for 3 minutes. Same for getting arrested, trapped in a jail for 3-5 minutes without being able to do nothing. Focusing only on how unfun being the victim of a kidnapping situation is just not the right way to approach the suggestion due to other jobs already in the server that can do the same or similar just in a different way ---------------- The suggestion has a bunch of holes to fill which hopefully we as a community can fix by polishing and adding to the post. My suggestion is that the kidnapper job should be a fast-paced job that allows to kidnap people and free/kill them in a fast manner so people dont abuse it or suffer too much from it. For that my suggestions are: Make it a high level job (Somewhere around lvl 90 or past prestige 1) Limited to 1 player slot only, or 2 so both kidnappers can team up It will only be allowed to own money printers, as the primary illegal activity is kidnapping (Hence no mugging or raiding allowed) Allowed to counter illegal activities Only allowed to kidnap players whose level is over 50 (This can get polished) Must wait for a cooldown of 4 minutes between kidnappings and a 20-minute cooldown to kidnap the same victim. Only allowed to ask for a quantity of money superior to $5k with a limit of $15k based on the level of the victim (This can get polished as well) Obviously like Criteria already added all the possible minge uses that you can give the job is not allowed. Same treatment as with printers, cops are only allowed to warrant the person if they have visual confirmation of a person being kidnapped. Members of the same party are allowed to raid the kidnapper's base to rescue the party member without being able to break previous NLR's or cooldowns Members of the same party can pay for the ransom as well as the victim (This via a message pop-up just like the mugging system, but this one will appear for both party members and the victim) Kidnappings can only last for a maximum of 4 minutes (That starts from the moment the kidnapper adverts "kidnap" and ends until the time runs out or the kidnapper adverts "over") Kidnappers may kill or free the victim after not receiving any ransom money. Now, as for the whole process of kidnapping, what if the kidnapper has a jail entity that can be spawned where other players being kidnapped would fit into to (To put inside a base), other players can release the player inside for free if they have access to it (After a successful raid), the hardest part of this is the logistics issue, maybe they get teleported into the jail after getting knocked out (With a stun-lock duration of 15 secs?) and putting some handcuffs on which takes some time to do (5 seconds in which people can counter). After someone pays for the ransom the victim gets teleported back to PD lobby or their last known position. This whole last part sounds weird but that's all I can come up with Having said that, I can see how even with the most additions the suggestions don't quite make the cut, but at the very least Im curious to see where this might go.
  13. I believe we have a very similar job already accepted and not implemented for a year now (People suggested the same theme that you are suggesting to use for this class in the comments)
  14. I appreciate the back and forth even thought I would've liked more engagement on my questions, but yeah overall I also dont care that much about slurs I have no dog in this fight and in contrast with what glitch said this discussion can only do good that's why I defended the suggestion, but at least we both voiced our opinions.
  15. I think I will be repeating myself here but yes, if you are using these words for a joke or anything not ill-intended in a public manner it's ok, but outside that I want to keep a consistency for the sake of the server's image. And then again you're focusing on the word cracker when I didnt talk about that specific word. You said "I wasn't trying to say that if someone is offended by a word it should be banned." but this is the point that I am trying to make, at least for words that are outright hateful by definition. Im not trying to ban all insults just any ethnical/racial slurs like the post suggests. Since I think your position revolves around this criteria, I would like to know why the nature of a slur is irrelevant for you to oppose to ban it, and how many people are needed to ban the usage of a racial slur when the goal is to make the community look better.
  16. I think that the position you are taking is absolutely valid, but I also want to push it a bit further; Hopefully I can get this right, you say that if someone uses a word that is offensive and someone reports this you will take action against it, but there has to be a "victim" or reporter for you to initiate any punishment, you also said that certain words are not allowed on the server because of the image that these portray. The use of any racial slur is completely unnecessary especially if you want to create the most friendly space possible for new players to stay, even if most players are not actively reporting this everyone understands the implications of these words regardless of them not offended by these, besides, I cant think of any situation where using any racial slur is useful to communicate anything whatsoever (Aside from jokes). Im committed to the idea that these words are just hateful from the purpose of them and because they dont bring any value or benefit to the community, they shouldnt have a place in our community.
  17. I think some people are missing the point of the suggestion, regardless of the word "Cracker" being actually offensive or not what I think Twisty is suggesting is to be consistent in banning the use of ALL racial slurs, it's not about the offensiveness of these or the amount of people getting offended by these, it's about the principle of respect and intentions of use. I suppose this is to create a more amiable space in the server, which honestly I cant see any downsides to this, especially after garnet changed some of the npc dialogues that included racial slurs for comical reasons in past updates. If this is the intention then I support the suggestion +1
  18. -1: Even though you took the time to write a good application in which you display some unique skills for the staff team you also used the staff application and the comment section to talk about a ban that you seem to disagree with, this is completely irrelevant to the questions and format that you are answering and something that you should know it's not ideal, to say the least (Admin decisions are final). While making a staff application while being banned is not prohibited it only shows your inability to abide to the rules and to act as a role model for the rest of the players (It doesn't matter how much you think you are right). Besides that, your passive-aggressive manner towards the criticism that is given to you only shows to me your lack of patience opposed to what you said in the app. Perhaps you are trying to cast some light on the things that you are good at and strive on while simultaneously trying to show the flaws of a staff team that you are trying to be part of without giving actual constructive criticism. This to me means that you are not coming from a place of compassion, but rather just trying to shit on behaviors or experiences that you didnt like or agree with. You strike me as a good candidate that just doesn't have the attitude and right motivation to be part of the staff team, I would love to see some intention to win the respect of the community back, but that is not happening, yikes.
  19. -1 based purely on this comment alone, huge red flag for someone seeking to be part of the staff team.
  20. -1: Merely based on the application itself. Clearly mostly originated from an AI engine, the proof of Tdizz running the paragraphs through an AI text detector should say a lot. Lastly, @Korn I feel like you should be a little bit more genuine with your replies leaving aside the fact that you are a referral :)))
  21. +1: Back when I wanted to join the staff team Criteria showed me the ropes like no one else, he also helped me a lot with the process of getting it done, and even though I'll always think of him as a silly person he always kept a "professional" attitude when handling any sits or staff duties. I will always vouch for him as a staff member as I consider him mature and knowledgeable enough.
  22. I'm in disbelief but I wish you the best for the future
  23. -1: Applying to be a "rule enforcer" while having 3 active warns is not coherent, it's not "little stuff" at all Oh, and that might be @Korn you're talking about? The worst manager currently
  24. You did not read the staff rules
  25. +1: Is it necessary? I don't think so. Would it benefit the overall combat experience? Absolutely if done correctly. The only drawback I can see is that it would be difficult and lengthy to create a good weapon menu like the one GTA V or CS:GO uses for the server, and so far, it appears that this isn't a priority for the community. Another downside is that this kind of weapon menu is slightly intrusive for the kind of gameplay that Darkrp has. But other than that I would personally love to see a change to the UI like this one.
