  1. saw this base the other day and thought about reporting it since theres an imaginary kos area, glad to see someone did for those who cant see the video, the toxic bit was wilbur saying - "you're both gonna report me (for the faulty kos sign) i guaran-fuckin'-tee it" - "heh, yeah, im a fucking staff as well, good fucking luck dumb shits" - "here's the thing, i can be as toxic as i want as i don't mean it ... its just a game" so far i see the following staff rules violated: Be respectful to all community members. Keep a mature attitude at all times.
  2. +1 active guy see him a lot
  3. im racking my brain trying to find out what this even means
  4. +1 guys on every day, nice player, good app
  5. I understand what you are referencing, and I can see why you would believe that I am not lenient towards new players. As a player, if I am RDM'd, I would prefer the person who RDM'd me to be warned because that is the same punishment I would get for RDMing someone. As a staff member, for new players, I would most likely jail them to give them the opportunity to read the rules. Like I said in a previous post, the rules appear as soon as you spawn, and for most (if not all) DarkRP servers, RDM, RDA, and NLR are universal rules. You lost me at the second part of this sentence, because it's sort've a double standard in my eyes. Believing in equal punishment and non bias opinions should allow you to see where I come from. A helping hand is what I would offer to all new players in any situation, but if a player is upset they were RDM'd, I would find it unjust to simply let the perpetrator off with a verbal warning because he is new. In my opinion, a player's level has nothing to do with their DarkRP experience, nor does it reflect their ability to play by the rules. I will probably adjust how you see it to how I see it, by instead of observing their level and making my decision based on that, I will look at the player's time played in the server which does reflect their DarkRP experience. I do not want you to see me as a warn-happy tyrant because that is not how I want to be viewed, but in order to uphold "equal punishment and non bias opinions" a player should be punished for his wrongdoings according to the D3A handbook. Of course, there are situations where a player would and should be let off with a verbal warning, but allowing players to simply get off the hook for breaking universal DarkRP rules is not something that I would be able to do as a staff member.
  6. I can understand where you are coming from with this. I wouldn't use the word "ruthless", I would consider myself to be by the book. A rule is broken, there is a punishment for said infraction, and in my opinion the correct punishment should be handed to the player. I only ask for "the most severe action possible" because it's the entire punishment for the rule that was broken. I firmly believe that it is fair to punish all players who break rules regardless of playtime, because in the end, the rules appear on their screen as soon as they spawn. It is the player's responsibility to understand the rules, and it is the player's responsibility to follow them. In a situation where a rule is broken, I believe the player should be punished. I have an example, I reported a level 24 player with 36 hours the other day who broke NLR 5 times, and also FDA'd. This player was let off with a verbal warning and a 10 minute jail because he was new, despite the fact that he had over 24 hours in the server. I mentioned to the staff member that the rules he had broken was far over the limit for a ban, but a jail would suffice because it would allow the player to read the rules. tl;dr, all players are held to the same rules, so all players should receive the same consequences.
  7. I've come to understand that criticizing people without proper reason is not something that should be done. I was younger back when I got banned, and as I look back I can understand that my words and actions were unjust. I was a high-and-mighty dumbass who was unable to see the other person's POV in the situation. I have learned that being rude or demeaning to people (name calling / general immaturity) is not typically accepted anywhere, and I was too set in my own mind to see how others saw a situation. The reason behind my warnings is my inability to prove my innocence in a sit, but since I use shadowplay I have earned 0 warnings. If you know my username you know I report people all the time, I made this staff application so that I can handle the sits instead of make them lol.
  8. In-game name: salami lid Age: 23 SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:0:60642872 Warns: 3 (rdm, failrp, rdm) Timezone: EST Playtime?: | salami lid has played for 891:39:32. Do you have access to TeamSpeak and a microphone?: YES Do you have the ability to record Garry's Mod videos?: YES Referral(s): Past experiences as staff: i used to staff on here 3 or so years ago Why should we choose you over other applicants?: I believe you should choose me over other applicants because I have experience moderating this server in the past. I have an righteously unbiased mind, and I believe as a staff member I will be able to help the community as a whole in regards to reports. I believe I will be an excellent addition to the staff team, as I take sits as soon as they are made. Recently, I have noticed sits taking longer and longer to be completed (even for a simple RDM case), and occasionally they expire. I see players upset in OOC that staff do not take their sits and allow the perpetrator to continue breaking rules and ruining the player experience. I can assure you that as a staff member I will never let a sit expire, and I will take as many sits as possible as they are abundant. I find joy helping players in need, and being able to be the person that provides the help and assistance is something that I love. E33OR is a role model to me, as he is also genuinely concerned with the wellbeing of the common player, and I see him helping players out of sits every time I see him on. On the occasion that I am accepted, I will put in the same amount of effort with the same amount of care as E33OR does. I believe every player should be treated with respect, and rule breaking players should be punished for their wrongdoings. From my perspective, minges and NITRPers have become an increasingly prevalent issue on this server, and I am making this staff application so that I may assist the community in cleaning up the perps make. As a player myself, it is not fun being prop blocked for 20 minutes while you wait for your sit to expire. As I have said before, I will put in time and effort to ensure the common rule-abiding player's experience is not infringed upon for more than 30 seconds after their report is made. I know what I am doing as a staff member, and can guarantee the server will be more enjoyable for the common player if I am accepted as staff. Have you ever been banned or punished on any server?: i got community banned for being toxic because I was openly critical of the wrong people for no reason. I ended up getting doxxed on the forum by said people. It's a whisper in the wind as the entire community is different, and so is myself. Have you made any previous applications, If so when?: 2 in 2016 (MilRP), 1 in 2017 (DarkRP), 1 in 2019 (SWRP), 1 in 2020 (DarkRP) How much time do you have to contribute to the role?: 6 hours a day at best If you have any, what hobbies or activities are you involved in outside of Garry's Mod?: Did you read the staff rules?: salami lid
  9. Both the raider and the defender are capable of owning rockets, gas, and grenades. When you raid someone who owns an OP base, you are obviously going to die (most of the time). Perhaps instead of suggesting to remove these tools that can be used by everyone, try not raiding people who will clearly wipe the floor with you.
  10. don't buy a dupe just build better, trust me. watch some videos on how to build in gmod and you will be set for life.
  11. Here's some tips if you fear rockets / nerve gas: don't buy a small base that allows for splash damage of a rocket/gas anywhere you are inside. don't build sections of your base that allow for rockets to be fired/gas to be thrown into your base do buy a large base, preferably industrial or a warehouse base do put your fading doors very close to the entrance do stay away from your doors if you are not immediately being raided keep your printers away from the doors/walls (unless its a wall on the edge of the map (like in industrial)
  12. I made the report because despite me reporting this under the table to two different Admins, I've heard no feedback on the situation, so I decided to make an official report. I'm very sorry that you think I made this to tarnish your rep, because I stated only facts and provided the sufficient evidence. If you think this tarnishes your rep them perhaps you should not have done it in the first place. I hate to say the extreme obvious, but the entire essay you posted seems like massive damage control. Calling Theta biased because he reconnected you for placing your hobo hut on top of mine is immature. you know you were wrong, you were proven wrong, and now you can only propagate speculation. I'm not sure why you see this as some personal attack on you. I don't know you, but I thought your behavior in game during this situation was completely immature. You are a T. Admin, I would expect a higher amount of maturity out of you. This is a solid report with a good amount of evidence. I kept out all name calling on the OP because I knew it would be irrelevant, and I knew it wouldn't be necessary. I respect you Krabbe, but please don't make yourself look like a fool.
  13. saying it's failrp isn't going to stop it, and even after a sit the previous mayor doesn't get reinstated. (from prior experience)
  14. +1 the ability to place a hit on the mayor, switch to assassin, and kill the mayor just to switch to mayor immediately is abused. A vote should be placed in to prevent this type of abuse.
  15. Who are you reporting? [Staff/Player]: Papa KrabbeYour in-game name: hunger boredmYour SteamID (https://steamid.io/): STEAM_0:0:60642872In-game name of reportee: Papa KrabbeSteamID of reportee (https://steamid.io/): unable to retrieveDate & Time of incident: 10/20/2020, i got no idea what time it was in the afternoon/nightTimezone: ESTWhat happened? (include any proof): I placed a dupe down of my hobo hut, and Krabbe walked up to it and duped his hobo hut right on top of mine. I reported it, and Theta reconnected Krabbe after roughly 10 minutes. He lied to theta in the sit multiple times about whos hut was down first, and ultimately the logs proved it was mine anyways. https://streamable.com/gotq1f
  16. i can agree with this, people place hits, switch to assassin, kill the mayor, then switch to mayor immediately
  17. +1 add this with allowing the mayor to build so despite the unraidable PD base the mayor is still a job that can be played by everyone instead of one guy for 10 hours

    NITRP BAN!

NITRP means "No Intent To Role Play", its a ban that you receive for breaking 3 or more RP rules. Without any video on your part, I hope the staff member that banned you has a video proving your innocence.
  19. anyone else's inventory pocket switch from 1 row 1 page to 2 rows 2 pages seemingly at random?

  20. im just gonna stick to building in darkrp for now

  21. idk if im allowed to post this but it needs to be said; given the many recent reports on rubiks, he really should be re-trained or re-considered for staff.
  22. This guide is for people with basic knowledge regarding base building to learn about the tools at their disposal, and kill box types. I will also be expanding this guide in the future. Rule 1, press SHIFT + E when holding a prop, that is your bread and butter. How to build? Utilizing the correct props will allow you to build a base just as cool as the no life with 10k hours and $300mil. Plastic props are good for walls, the shopfront prop is good for kill boxes, and the fence props are good for fading doors. Learning the correct props is essential to building a sleek base. Don't take this as me bashing experimental bases, make that shit look crazy! Tools of the Trade https://imgur.com/a/Y1Adn2W The Stacker tool is necessary for a sleek base. Given its ability to duplicate props, and it's great amount of sliders that allow for any adjustment desired. 1. The stack direction box allows you to choose which direction you want to stack your prop. You can adjust how far it is stacked in that direction using 2 a, b, and c. 2. (a) allows you to adjust the back and forth distance the stacked prop will be from the original prop. (b) is left and right, and (c) is down and up respectively. 3. (a) allows you to adjust the pitch, (b) adjusts the yaw, and (c) adjusts the roll respectively. The Precision Tool tool is probably the most vital tool, it's the extreme precision this tool grants you that allows for the most op bases. You will be using this tool very often when you build. Kill Box Types https://imgur.com/a/Vl00IY2 The Dissapearing Wall kill box is identified by it's very large kill box, usually consisting of the entire wall. Pros: If you have a shotgun, you can almost certainly eliminate the raider in one shot. You are close to the target, so accuracy is never really a deciding factor. Cons: They are very close to you, allowing them to attack you easier. Your model will be almost fully exposed to the raider. The Death Crack kill box is identified by it's very thin line between (usually) shopfront props. Pros: You are heavily concealed from enemy gunfire, giving you increased cover and combat capability. Given it is on both sides like the image, you have the element of surprise from both sides. Cons: If you are being raided by the typical d-lore aimbotter, you will be killed instantly due to standing very close to the box when firing. The effective cone of fire is reduced significantly the farther you back away from the crack, reducing combat effectiveness for shotguns and automatic rifles. The Fortress is iconic for it's castle-like look. The fading doors are parallel from a raised shooting platform placed some distance further into the base to increase concealment. Pros: Given you have an accurate weapon, this base allows you to snipe enemies from across your base. The distance from the main doorway grants protection from nerve gas, grenades, and even rockets. Cons: Usually consists of an entire wall opening up near the fading door, allowing raiders to pinpoint your location. Multiple raiders will be able to pin you down while you are being cracked. The Knoxx Certified base is instantly recognizable by it's hallway that limits your movement to strictly one axis, the chambers are only 35 units across, and the kill box itself is two nanometers across. Pros: 100% unraidable, especially when paired with a snipers nest. Cons: Standing close to the door and acting cocky can result in being nerve gassed or RPG'd. The Unfair Advantage base is the one you walk into and instantly turn back around. The base owner usually has an angle on you that is not very beneficial to you. Pros: Angle, angle, angle. This base can have an angle above, below, on top, or wherever that isn't directly eye level with the raider. The more unusual the better. Grants an intimidation depuff to the raider, usually resulting in them running away and never looking back. Cons: Again, RPGs and nerve gas are the most annoying things in the game, they will kill you in even the most unraidable bases. The Windmill base is instantly recognized by it's revolving door-esque fading door system. This base consists of fading doors that open around each other. Pros: Allows the base owner to maintain a smaller combat area by reducing the length of the fading door system. Cuts the fading door system length basically in half by placing the doors 2x2 instead of 1x4.
