Date & Time of incident: October Seventh 2020

Timezone: EST

Ban Reason: Comm banned

How long were you banned for?: Perma

Proof of Ban:mi_RFPXF_LNNha0gmI8Qqd_0LT_w3btNMQlH-1SBCovrqDxAvPpvXFzaWEsAM4zK162Go7G4qWtZQvUv11sUHvw0tTNesFTllDhpwln-pG-vaQbf5WdDrBH_E-1ZLw0lKQekVz26

What happened? (include any proof): I made some bad decisions and decided it would be funny to go against the newly added anti racism rule. I along with a few other players decided to say the n-word over and over to Jake. Jake did what he had to enforce the rules and an executive decision was made to ban me and my friends. After this we became pretty toxic to everyone who didn't like what we did.

Why should your ban be removed? In my time as a member on Garnet I made a lot of mistakes and this was definitely the biggest one of all. I disrespected people whom I was friends with, I disrespected Garnet, and I hurt so many friendships I made during my time on Garnet. I don't want to be unbanned because I think I did nothing wrong, I know I did something wrong. And I know I fucked up exponentially, I truly do not know what compelled me so hard to disrespect the community I called home for so many years. But I did, and I can't take back what I said and all I can ask for forgiveness and another chance to make things right. I want to wrap up my time playing gmod especially on the server where It all began for me. I have had this aching feeling or regret since I made the decisions I made. I have felt that I wasted something that was always so good to me and always kept me in good spirits. I don't not  expect forgiveness. All I ask for is one more chance to make things right after all this time. I am approaching one year since my ban and I can not feel anything but regret. My Ban history only contains 3, most recent is my com ban, next is my original ban which was later extended into the comm ban. And the last was a 1 day ban for Accidental Mass.

For those I disrespected, I truly am sorry even if it didn't seem as such the last time we spoke.

man the last time I saw you, you spammed the discords with "Nigger" over and over with American Jesus then got into TS and called Jake and some other people "Nigger"

I did, and i truly am sorry about it. I honestly don't know what compelled me to do it, but for what its worth I do actually feel bad about it. Im not looking for forgiveness I'm just looking to reprove myself.

It'd help to know the date of this incident. For the people saying "Appeals Aren't for Apologies" are acting like we havent treated situations like this case by case. Its important to note that other members of the community have changed their opinion on people in situations like this. However, if he hasnt stayed in contact with any members of the community than theres really no way to tell if he has actually changed. Going forward I dont feel like the excuse "Appeals aren't meant for apologies" should be applied to instances like this (Where the ban reason was due to immaturity or lack of seriousness at the time). These situations should be handled case by case.

Edit: After seeing a previous GA who was Honorably Discharged back up Mark's willingness to change I am going to +1 this appeal. Please do not make your decision hastily with this appeal. It is quite easy to read a couple -1's and make up your mind on the spot.

Hes stayed in contact with me, and from what i can tell hes genuine and really misses the community. everyone makes dumb choices and i think he really regrets his.

regret.

Not the place to be reflective on your past mistakes.

I swear more and more I see vets coming back, playing for a bit, getting cynical about current rules or "the state of the server", doing some dumb shit to get permed, failing to appeal their ban within a reasonable time span, and then "regretting" their decision and creating an apology appeal waaaaay long after the fact.

What frustrates me about these appeals isn't even the offense itself, it's the callous behavior followed by a ban you went out of your way to get, which you now think should be lifted because "I've changed guys! I've put a lot of work into myself and my behavior!"

Same shit vizii had been on and off of, he didn't get a pass, why should you? I mean, I've talked to Vizii plenty following his com ban, and he's adamant that he has love for the server and wants to come back and help, but he doesn't get a pass there.

-1 for sure.
