applications

In any case, making applications for G4S is a wasted effort. I think the last time we had leader applications at all was for SWRP on first launch, and at that point it's necessary when you're introducing 8-9 factions at once and need to gauge how experienced that many people are. I think it'll boil down staff making some nominations and bringing it to a vote, or Garnet will choose himself.

We don't need to change any leaders, they would just need to adapt. If you want leader applications then it would completely remove the people that worked for their current role on the server

We would choose leaders/officers who have either been on this server or on another. So, that we don’t have someone that volunteers and pick them we could have the community decide on a leader that way no one can really complain.

I just wanna say, this is one of the coolest suggestions i have ever seen. It’s very in depth and I think that with this suggestion we could bring back the RP aspect of the server which would be very cool.

but, could we possibly make leader applications so that we could perfectly do choose a leader who volunteers but I’m thinking that these people would need to have over 500 or 600 hours on the server and had to be at least an officer on this server or another.

i think imma stay active on this post 🙂

Bad idea. Leaders can’t be chosen based on being Officer/playtime cause that shit is mostly afk hours or given rank.

Decide on who would run this faction the best based on community experience.

Interesting idea that was brought up in the past. I would love to see it work out, but I've lost my faith in most people online to put in the good faith effort that an idea like this would require.

Seriousness aside, I nominate SythenMcSwiggity, Jester, and Shrugger to oversee this organization.

Seems like a good idea, I could definitely see it working out, providing the right people are chosen to run the faction.

In addition to what's stated above, having server events that could build out a story-line for how this faction came to be on the server would be sweet as well. For instance, when they're introduced onto the map, have a server event that gets everyone aware and involved with the faction. In addition, have major events that put RU vs US at high pop with the victor determining a plot point for G4S. Maybe some perk that lasts until the next major event. It doesn't even have to be game-play related, maybe a US flag goes up in the G4S base if US wins. I'd have to revisit this idea.

While I like the idea of only officers of other factions being able to interact with G4S, I feel it would limit the potential impact a third faction would have on the server. Perhaps higher ranked enlisted could do Sims with them or something, not sure on how I would approach this, will continue to brainstorm.

being able to interact

So the reasoning behind this is that Officers should and will have a better idea about foreign affairs, and they will also be the ones with the authority to utilize the budget. This is my way of a gradual RP integration. The server couldn't handle a bombshell of flipping the state of RP.

Sorry about not getting back to you sooner but I was busy, but my statement if it being confusing is that there will be many lower enlisted in faction that just got trained and they would have no idea what that faction is and what they do and so on and so forth unless we made a portion in training that informed them about that faction, next there are a lot of people that make it to officer ranks in base factions and high enlisted roles they they truely give no crap about RP, so if there weren’t officers on or Officer that care for RP then what kind of interactions is this faction supposed to have, do they just sit there doing nothing or will there be other things for them to do (if you already addressed this just quote it because I may have missed it)

That makes sense. At some point down the line, would you like for enlisted and slightly newer players to be able to interact with G4S? Or in your mind do you have it as an Officer's only experience? Pardon me if I'm phrasing this strangely.

I’d want to see a standard generalization given to new players/trainees so they aren’t confused on what that faction does, my biggest worry would be people not knowing what the faction is and what they do, and maybe if G4S was able to assist base factions in sims/tryouts/PTs making them more strenuous or tiring, maybe even as body guards or escorts, hiring them for many things like that would also be really cool, I might have gone off topic there sorry

and possibly have a way to demonstrate what G4S does to enlisted so they can see it in person or peek there interests

So one of the specialties of G4S in the real world is private security. Lower ranked troops would get both positive and negative exposure to G4S by both fighting with them and being assisted by them. The goal for now is get primarily officers exposed, as they are the role models of the server. Whether the enlisted are exposed directly or not to G4S is irrelevant, as they will develop RP experience just by interacting with their own officers.

As far as explaining what G4S is to new players, it's pretty inconsequential. If players are curious, they will ask their superiors. The important thing is officers, as their time on the server will be longer than the average user and it's important they constantly be in the know. An update thread should be enough.

Officer's only experience?

So, while Officers will be the ones negotiating contracts directly with G4S representatives, troops accompanying their officers as protection to these meetings will be granted brief exposure to these completely in character interactions.

Other than that, G4S can be hired to do other things like assist in trainings using their superior experience, or be hired to work directly with squads of enlisted, giving them direct interactions at a high RP level.

they truely give no crap about RP

To answer this: If an Officer of a faction wants to have a meeting with G4S, they must roleplay. G4S will always be in character, and it's not much to ask an officer to be in character for a few moments. Even the officers who are the worst about roleplay will slowly develop their own sense of character and become better influences in their factions over time through brief interactions backed by the incentive to employ G4S.
