In your own words, what are the responsibilities of a Gamemaster?:

 The responsibility of a gamemaster is to provide a fun roleplay environment for factions. A good gamemaster will make sure immersion is not broken and everyone is not bored out of their minds. A gamemaster should also incentivize factions to remain non-toxic by providing better factions with more events. On the regular server, a gamemaster should encourage RP by hosting/participating in raids,kidnaps, and other RP events. 

A gamemaster is also in charge of keeping the event on track with the original plan for the event. If event participant starts to go off course the gamemaster’s job should be to keep them on track without having to pick them up with a physgun.

A gamemaster should never abuse their rank either in the event server. They shouldn’t shoot participants, pick up and drop participants with a physgun, or get in the way in general unless the event needs it. In the main server, a gamemaster should never flaunt their rank or say they are above others just because they are a gamemaster.

Describe how you would contribute to RP as a part of the Gamemaster team:

I will contribute to the gamemasters team by regularly helping with and hosting events for factions that have earned it. I constantly be coming up with and suggesting fresh events to make the event server a more enjoyable place. 

For the main server as a faction leader, I can host my own mini RP events (raids, kidnaps, kidnap payments, etc.) Hosting these can lead to more enjoyment of RP and hype towards RP in general. 

Explain your single most creative idea for contributing to the RP environment of the server: [1 paragraph minimum]

Disclaimer* I have no clue if this is possible or if this is the direction shrimp wants to take the gamemasters. My more RP related events are the 5 listed later.

Some sort of mini-events open to all on the regular server opposed to large faction-specific events. They would be faster and easier to host. These would be a lot like the ones currently hosted on the server, but they would be improved with the use of props/other addons the main server doesn’t get.
Some examples of this would be

🦆 | Duck Hunt

A Gamemaster would set up an arena with props blocking the view of the sniper that zig-zags going vertically. The ducks would run to the end of the maze and would receive a weapon to kill the sniper on the other side. The sniper’s goal would be to kill the ducks before the ducks get to the end. The sniper would be decided by whoever was the last duck alive or whoever killed the previous sniper.

🔪 | Michael Myers

Very similar to the current MRP event except gamemasters could create custom mazes for Michael to hunt in. As of now, the current Michael Myers room in the main server is lacking. There are few spots to hide and nowhere to run. A custom gamemode could keep the game fresh and new maps could be made in an hour or two.

🚗 | Mad Max

This event would require cars to be much stronger and shooting out of windows to be enabled

A gamemaster would either make an arena or have the cars on an open map. There would be teams of 2-4. The drivers would drive around trying to avoid shots from the other cars passengers. The passengers would try to blow up the other cars by peaking out of the windows and shooting at the other cars. Last car standing wins. 

🚓 | Cops and Robbers

2 teams would be set up with 1 as cops and one as robbers. The robbers would have to defend a position for 1-3 minutes while being under assault of the cops. Once the robbery is complete they would have to hop in cars and escape to an evac point where cops will follow and try to stop the escape. Robbers will be granted 2 live and cops have unlimited.

☣️ | Infection

A gamemaster will make a maze/any area of play (Can also be done in residential areas of maps). 1 person will start out as the patient 0. They will be randomly selected and pm’ed. Their health will be set to 150,000. They will have a 1 minute grace period where they can transform at any time. After the 1 minute is up they have to transform. They will be carrying a knife and will have to hunt down and kill survivors. Once a survivor is killed they will be infected and have 15,000 HP. They will have unlimited lives and have 5 minutes to infect everyone. If any survivor is alive at the end survivors win. If all are infected, infected win. Players will start with a pistol and weapons will be hidden throughout the map to slow or kill the infected.

Note - Obviously none of these relate to RP. My more RP oriented events are listed below. 

Please list and explain 5 unique event ideas of any scale: [Be sure to include any additional context that may be necessary to your explanation]

  1. Destruction of an opposing outpost. Members of a soc faction will be tasked with shooting their way into an opposing outpost and planting a bomb. From there they will have 1-2 minutes to book it to an evac. 

Weaponry would include loud destructive weapons such as the matador, grenades, AEK, MP5A5, Orsis, and a C4 that would be granted to 1 operative to plant.

  1. High-value target assassination. Sniper teams would be tasked with taking out a high-value target and escaping before the security catches them. If the target is missed they will go on high alert and attempt to escape the Soc members. Operatives would then have to chase and kill the target while fighting off the security team.

Weaponry would include the M95, Orsis, and the SV98. In case the operatives fail they will bring SMG’s such as the FMG9, MP5A5/4, and the sterling

  1. Convoy ambush. Operatives will be tasked with ambushing and destroying a supply convoy. They would be informed of the route and it will be up to them to create an ambush. The cars will have troop transports throughout and if they aren’t destroyed opposing forces will spill out and initiate a gunfight with the operatives.

Weaponry would include loud heavy damage guns such as the matador, prox mines, grenades, PKM’s, M60’s, AEK’s, and M95’s

  1. FOB defense. Operatives will be stationed at a FOB during an assault by opposing forces. They will have time to set up a defense of the complex. Once the assault begins the operatives will be tasked with defending the complex and holding until reinforcements arrive. A gamemaster will be tasked with breaching the complex by placing a C4 on the walls. If this happens opposing forces will flood into the complex where operatives will have to continue to hold with their defenses breached.

Guns include loud damaging weapons such as M60’s, matadors, grenades, AEK’s, SMG’s, and the M95. 

  1. Hostage extraction. A high-value officer has been capture by opposing forces and operatives are tasked with sneaking in and rescuing him before he is executed. Operatives will have no idea where the officer is located. The operatives will have 10 minutes to extract the officer but their time can be cut short if they are spotted. If an operative is spotted they will have 45 seconds to get to the officer. A separate team will be positioned on buildings/hills around the base and will snipe to clear a path for the assault. If a guard's body is spotted the time will be cut to 45 as well.

Guns include silenced weapons such as pistols, SMG’s, and a silenced sniper team with the SV98

^All of these can be hosted with all factions^

This is already being done by admins on the main server, of which Gamemasters hold no power on. If you'd like to do events like these I recommend applying for staff. Other than that it's a pretty good application but I will be staying neutral.

My opinion will be neutral, I think as a current SSO COL you should focus on the faction and improving it. Even though I think you would make a wonderful Gamemaster. As such my opinion stands divided, yes you would make a good Gamemaster, but also no I wouldn't want my COL going inactive while working on events ETC...

I agree with Gythem, I think you should apply for staff.

I wouldn't have applied for this position if I believed it would effect SSO in a major way. I will still be an active COL.

We already discussed this in TS but I believe these small events can be improved by the gamemasters. The staff on the main server only have rope as a tool to make events. If we had props, cars, maps etc. we could greatly improve the small events.

Staff has an entirely different job than gamemasters. I am not looking for a rule enforcement role by getting gamemaster I want to increase RP and make a fun and welcoming environment on the event server. On the main server head admin+ are the only ones that can host an official event but you don't need to be staff to make an enjoyable event. This was shown yesterday by bishop and his FOB kidnapping. That doesn't mean they cant be improved by staff/gamemasters though.

The 5 mini events weren't the only events I suggested, I think this would be an interesting way to fulfill your duty as a gamemaster without having to plan a huge RP scenario. Although if @shrimp would like to go strictly RP I will happily rewrite the most creative idea section if needed.

The first problem I immediately have with this application is your status as an active faction leader. FLs are ridiculously important to the health, functionality, and entertainment value of both servers, as one cannot exist without the other, and the other in the previous case is made up entirely of factions.  Being a creative mind within the server is not cause enough to be a GM,  as the position of FL is far more important to me and to the server in general.

That being said, having an FL on the inside as a GMA (Which, with your position, you pretty much already are) would ruin your role in the events pertaining to the ability to lead, adapt, and work with your faction members to overcome a situation relevant to an event, either giving your faction an unfair advantage in the scoring system or making the event seem more scripted than it already is.  

For future reference, I don't want any faction leaders (AFSOC is an exception, due to role as support faction) applying for GMA, as the former role is significantly more important to the health and consistency of the community.

This is about to no longer be the case, as Garnet informed me yesterday in order for proactive community members to work with aspiring GMAs to create events on the main server as well. The event server is strictly for RP events, event-related training, and piloting.

As for your RP events, all five happen to already be on my list of Side-Ops, and most can actually be run on the main server, with or without Staff/GM intervention.
